We stayed here for our son’s graduation from UVA. Home was big enough to have some extended family stay with us. Easy drive into Grounds. Jenn and Mark were very responsive and accommodating.
Jenn and her husband are wonderful hosts and their home is beautiful; the perfect place for bringing family and friends together and staying connected due to the open floor plan and lovely backyard. We would definitely stay here again.
The property is perfect for a quiet restorative getaway. Sparking clean. Roomy and comfortable. Pool is amazing. Incredible kitchen with everything to cook in. Internet was very unreliable so not a great place to work; but if you want to unplug in a restful quiet villa, this is the place.

Thank you for your review. I am so sorry that you were impacted by the severe storms that tore through our area, toppling trees and knocking out internet during part of your stay. This was an unfortunate situation and completely out of our control. As indicated in the listing title of our property, we are in the country, so with the beauty of country living comes some minor inconveniences at times, limited wifi is certainly one of them when we don't have working internet due to fluke storms. I'm glad that you all were able to enjoy your stay despite this inconvenience.

The home was absolutely beautiful and the pictures really didn't do it justice. The location is a short Uber ride downtown and it's actually refreshing to stay in a home in the countryside. The pool is definitely an added bonus of the home. It's a perfect home to rent with a family or group of friends. Jenn was really good at communicating and made the rental process super easy and convenient.

The home is spacious and clean without feeling cold or impersonal. The pictures don't do the outdoor space/pool justice. It's so lovely, private and nestled into the trees. We rode out a particularly brutal heat wave going between the refreshing pool and the perfectly cooled house. Just a magical spot. My children (6 and 12) and my mother (75) all loved our stay. We will definitely be back next time we are visiting family in Charlottesville.

Perfect Home For The Mother of the Groom's Stay
The home was perfect for me and my friends, traveling from afar for my son's wedding. We were 10, and all of us were very comfortable. The best part about it was the common space. There was so much room between the kitchen, the kitchen island, the sitting room, all the beautiful stools, and the dining room. We all felt like we were always able to share and laugh and spend great moments together. The pictures dont do the place justice. It is even nicer than the pictures depict. The pool is lovely too. The house was clean and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we could need or want. Instructions were clear from the host. Communication with the host was great. She was receptive and responsive. and always available. I highly recommend this home.
Let’s start with the good. The house was very clean. It is conveniently located. The kitchen area and downstairs are modern and the pool is lovely.
Now for the not so good:
1. As indicated by other reviewers the internet was terribly unreliable. Routers or wifi extenders are desperately needed. The internet service was barely usable, calls kept dropping, etc.
2. The pool area had no umbrellas. When asked, the owner said the pool was shaded in the afternoon and unfortunately that was not the case. We visited during an intense heat wave so umbrellas were really needed.
3. We attempted to adjust the thermostats but they would just revert back to the previous setting. At one point, the thermostat in the master bedroom/bath was set to 82 degrees.
4. Not sure of the rental status, but this house is fully lived in. Every kitchen cabinet is full and there is no room to place any food that you bring. The bedrooms and bathrooms are the same. Every dresser, vanity, and closet is also completely full. A rolling rack was provided in the master bedroom, but was not particularly helpful for underwear, socks, etc.
5. The bedroom on the 1st floor has no curtains or shades on the windows. The neighbors are not super close but it was very unnerving at night. Car lights shined throughout the night and you felt like anyone could be looking in.
Overall, the house was clean and had good amenities, however should we return to Charlottesville, I am not sure we would stay at this property again.

Thank you so much for your review and feedback. I wish that you had reached out during your stay with your issues. As stated in our listing, we are in the country, and I am sorry that our wifi was unreliable during your stay. We have two different wifi options and wifi extenders in place. If we had known that you were having issues, we could have instructed you on how to reboot the system.
I am sorry that you were disappointed about the lack of umbrellas, but there are no umbrellas listed or photographed so this should not have been a surprise.
Regarding our thermostats, as stated in our house rules, they are programmed and we ask if the temperature is not comfortable for you, to please contact us. Again, we never heard from you. The bathroom thermostat that you mentioned reading 82 degrees is actually for our heated tile floors and not the air conditioning. That thermostat was turned off before your arrival so I'm not sure how it got turned on. Again, if you had reached out to us, we could have easily corrected this. I will say, it only heats the floors and not the air, there is no way that room was 82 degrees.
As far as the rental status, we make it very clear that this is our family home and we live here full-time. We only empty dresser drawers during longer stays and leave plenty of room in the closets with hangers. I am sorry that you did not feel like there was adequate storage and I will look into alternative options for future rentals. Our kitchen pantry had two empty shelves (5 ft x 12 in) available to store all of your food in addition to a full-size fridge and freezer so I am not sure what you are talking about regarding food storage.
We have lived in the country for over a decade and have never had issues with car lights and to be completely honest, given the layout of our house and the street, it simply isn't possible to have car lights shining in the bedroom window. It also wouldn't be physically possible for anyone to peek into the bedroom windows given the elevation. We've never felt the need for curtains/blinds but we appreciate your feedback. That is certainly an easy addition that we will do before our next rental.
I hope that you come back to Charlottesville another time, it really is a spectacular place. In the future, I would advise you to reach out to hosts during your stay with your concerns as a lot of this could have been easily remedied during your stay.
the house was perfect bedrooms ,bath , living area and kitchen immaculately maintained. backyard fun for kids unfortunately too late in season to use the pool
We used this property to visit some Charlottesville wineries and attend a UVA football game, and the location couldn’t have been better! The home was clean and inviting, and perfect for adults and kids alike. We visited at a time when we couldn’t use all the outdoor toys, but loved it just the same. Host was very accommodating and easy to reach.
This house had a lovely and large kitchen that was great for hanging out in the morning with coffee and eating breakfast seated at the large island. The dining room was very spacious with lots of seating. The most valuable was the great pool that we used everyday as it got unexpectedly hot - over 90 - that weekend in C’ville. Lots of space in the fridge and freezer to put our food. Check in and check out was simple and Jenn was easy to communicate with.
The kitchen is fully and generously stocked. The rooms are spacious, private and quiet. The host has explicit and helpful notes and the stay is easy and pleasant. Highly recommend this nice home in a wooded and park like neighborhood.,

Thank you so much for choosing to stay at our home again. You are wonderful guests and are welcome anytime!
Enjoyed this beautiful home and it’s location between the vineyards and breweries as well as the CVille foodie scene! We truly enjoyed a relaxing week in this , spacious and comfortable house!
Lovely house that was immaculate and in a beautiful location. Close to UVa and downtown Charlottesville yet in a secluded, quiet neighborhood. The owners did a terrific job of communicating with us - making the check in process go very smoothly.
Gorgeous home, great pool, short drive to downtown, strawberry picking, and wineries. We greatly enjoyed our stay!

Great House for Family Vacation
This house had great communal spaces for our family vacation, we especially loved the sitting room right off of the kitchen and dining room. The huge kitchen with plenty of fridge and freezer space was nice to cook in. Jenn was really easy to work with and did everything she could to make our stay enjoyable.

Beautiful spot for a relaxing weekend in lovely Charlottesville!
From the bottle of rosé that greeted us to the fresh linens to Jenn's prompt responses to any questions we had throughout the weekend, this was a fantastic vacation experience. The house is beautiful, and all of the amenities made it feel like a home away from home. We had a large group but the house did not feel at all crowded, and we loved the kitchen and dining area. Perfect for socializing and cooking! The neighborhood is very quiet and secluded -- an ideal spot to take a break from city life. Jenn was very communicative throughout the whole process.
The location is ideal for enjoying all of the wonderful aspects of the Charlottesville area. Close to downtown and UVA, but also to wineries and breweries, but also a lovely spot for staying in and relaxing.
We had a wonderful experience here and would definitely recommend this listing!

About the host

Hi! I'm Jenn. I've lived in Charlottesville for 35 years, with the exception of the 4 years that I went away to college. I quickly returned to Charlottesville after college graduation, got married, and now we are raising our four children in this home. We absolutely love the Charlottesville community as well as the surrounding areas, and would love to share this with you!
