Golden Gully Cottage! - Pet friendly, Eco friendly!

Secluded and peaceful bush cottage on 57 acres with mountain view and walking tracks only 25 minutes drive from Mudgee's CBD and Wineries.

This property has all the comforts of home with a country bush feel.
The cottage is tastefully decorated with a mix of new and 70's retro and can accomodate 2 people with its mix of 3 sleeping options such as a queen sized bed, sofa bed and day bed on the veranda.
If you're not wanting to leave a carbon footprint then this is the place for you.

The Cottage is solar powered, has thermal hot water and an eco friendly shower and toilet.
A wood burner stove in the living room makes the cottage warm and cosy during winter and can also be used for cooking.
There is also a gas stove top and oven as well as a gas heater in the living room.

STARLINK Internet is also provided which provides excellent wifi reception for a remote, secluded and hilly area.

The property itself has over 57 acres of sparsely covered timbered hills with its many walking tracks to explore the abundant wildlife and beautiful flora.

If its peace and quiet you're after then this is the place to escape.

THE PROPERTY ITSELF IS ACCESSED BY AN UNSEALED 500 METRE ROAD/DRIVEWAY (SEE LISTING PHOTOS). THE DRIVEWAY IS SUITABLE FOR ALL 4 WHEEL DRIVE AND MOST MEDIUM TO LARGE 2 WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLES.

HOST CURRENTLY DRIVES A MEDIUM SIZED MG FRONT WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE (SEE LISTING PHOTOS) AND CURRENTLY THE DRIVEWAY IS SUITABLE FOR THAT VEHICLE.
THE DRIVEWAY DOES HAVE A FEW BUMPY SECTIONS BUT IF YOU KEEP YOUR SPEED UNDER 25KM IN THOSE SECTIONS THEN YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE ANY ISSUES.
IF GUESTS ARE UNSURE ABOUT THEIR VEHICLE NOT BEING SUITABLE SUCH AS A VEHICLE WITH LOW CLEARANCE, THEN PLEASE CONTACT HOST FOR FEEDBACK PRIOR TO BOOKING.

NO OUTDOOR FIRES TO BE LIT ANYWHERE ON THIS PROPERTY. NO GUNS, TRAIL BIKES OR DRONES TO BE USED ON THIS PROPERTY.

NO ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING ALLOWED AT PROPERTY AS THE OFF GRID SOLAR BATTERY SYSTEM IS NOT SUITABLE AND WILL DRAIN THE SYSTEM OVER A SHORT PERIOD.

Beautiful secluded cabin

This was our 3rd time here. Its because we absolutely love it. The retro style, the seclusion, waking up to only the sound of birds, views of only bush, What more could you ask for.

Beautiful retro cabin

This is the second time we have stayed here now. We love it. Its Secluded , it has wonderful views, comfortable bed and all the necessities for a fabulous weekend away. Im sure we will be back again soon.

Lovely place

Had a very restful stay - the veranda was great to hang out watch the birds. The Aaron’s Pass/bocoble rd route to the property is very scenic but the last bit was unsealed. The route to Mudgee is a sealed road and very easy. Thanks very much for having me!

Secluded with luxuries of home.

The property was clean, private with lots of space for our dogs to go exploring plus the house had all the creature comforts of home so it was nice and relaxing for us. Chris was also a delightful host. We hope to come back again in the near future. Many thanks!

Getting away from it all

The driveway is a bit of a challenge, but if you want a place in the bush that feels a million miles away from the hustle and bustle, this is it. Very comfortable and cosy, and an 30 minute drive into Mudgee and the wineries. We'll be back.

An amazing secluded cottage

We had an amazing time. A beautiful little cottage, hidden away in the Bush. The retro vibe suited us perfectly. The bed is super comfy. Sitting on the deck in the morning listening to the birds, while having a coffee was just bliss.. This Cottage provided us with everything we need for our perfect weekend away from city life. Even had a binoculars for bird watching which was great.. we will definitely be back.

Great getaway, secluded area, top host and Yorkshire Tea!

My hsuband and I stayed at Golden Gully for two nights - it's a very secluded spot, so perfect for those who want to completely disconnect. The house is quirky, bed comfortable and the whole place was perfectly clean. Chris was a really welcoming host, and we were absolutely delighted to see that the tea offering was generous and good quality (Yorkshire tea! Who would have thought? Massive plus for tea fans). Great value indeed.

Peaceful, natural beauty yet close to everything.

This is a beautiful place to stay and Chris is an excellent host. It's a little jewel of a hideaway in an expansive forest where those miracles of nature, kangaroos and wallabies leap out of the green. This little boutique cabin is decorated in the pinnacle of retro style with its centrepiece a fabulous old cooker. It has everything you need and as a bonus it is off-grid. The only thing missing is a lava lamp! Don’t even think about going anywhere else in Mudgee, just look at the photos and say “yes!”

A Great Escape

Fantastic little cottage in the middle of the bush. So peaceful and quiet. We stayed there over a very cold and rainy weekend, but were warm and cozy in Golden Gully Cottage.

Peaceful and homely

Loved our few days in the cottage. Was warm and cosy in side with the fire going and the view from the verandah in the morning with a hot coffee was such a nice way to start the day. Host is really communicative and helpful. Close to Mudgee and wineries - had a lovely time.

Lovely and relaxing cottage

Comfy and endearing, we enjoyed our 3 night stay at the cottage and our little pug loved exploring the bush track on the property. My partner loved tackling the driveway each day in our 4WD :D

Great hideaway from the main town

Chris' place is exactly as pictured. It was a lovely cozy cottage in the middle of the bush. Great place to relax and really get away from it all but still close enough to Mudgee. The fireplace was a real highlight of the place! Would stay again.

Wonderful spot

We had 4 great days at Golden Gully Cottage. So much thought had gone into making this place eco-friendly but still with all mod-cons and very comfortable. Lovely 70's touches everywhere, which showed that the cottage was very well loved. Wonderful deck to enjoy the sun. The road to reach the house is pretty rough but we managed with our Mazda 3. We had fabulous weather...not sure how the roads would be in the wet. Christopher was great with communication on everything. Thank you!

Beautiful cabin in the bush!

Amazing place to stay. Christopher was brilliant to deal with, the cabin was very comfortable, thoughtfully put together. It’s a cabin in the bush with all that entails including the sounds of the wildlife (the sounds were beautiful). Wonderful walks on the property and a great daybed on the porch. The cabin was perfectly clean and cozy. I’d highly recommend.
