Gunnadoo - Ocean View Hut with jacuzzi, rainforest and ocean views

Just north of Port Douglas and Mossman, Gunnadoo is far enough away to enjoy spectacular peace and quiet, but close enough to everything you could wish for your holiday. Located across the road from Rocky Point Beach, this self contained private cabin is set on the hill, surrounded by rainforest and featuring beautiful views over the Coral Sea and Low Isle.

The property borders the Daintree National Park and Cape Tribulation is just up the road, perfect for a day trip or two of exploring the world’s oldest Rainforest. Great Barrier Reef cruises depart from Port Douglas, a 25 min. drive south as well as from Cape Tribulation.
Mossman Township is just a 10 min. drive from us

The cabin is perfect for 2 people and offers a Queen Bed, ensuite bathroom, fan & air conditioning, wi-fi, smart TV (Netflix only, no commercial channels) tea & coffee making as well as an outdoor BBQ kitchen. The highlight of this absolutly private hut is a deck with Jacuzzi overlooking the coral sea and Low Isle! The Maui luxury hydrotherapy spa features 2 recliners facing the ocean and a total of 34 massaging jets!

Your outdoor kitchen is equipped with a large BBQ including side burner and sink. Inside the cabin you have a large fridge, microwave, tea & coffee making and a toaster.

Immersed in the rainforest with stunning ocean views, you can unwind and relax, but also be within easy reach of Cape Tribulation and Port Douglas!

Located in Rocky Point, this cabin is in the mountains and near the beach. Wet Tropics of Queensland and Kahana Nature Refuge reflect the area's natural beauty and area attractions include Hook-A-Barra and Daintree Wild Zoo. Daintree Discovery Centre and Wildlife Habitat are also worth visiting. Scuba diving and snorkelling offer great chances to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with hiking/biking trails and horse riding nearby.

So beautiful

We had such a relaxing and quiet weekend…you have your privacy and own little oasis, can see and hear the ocean, relax in the bubble spa,…exactly how described or even better! Amazing how much afford got put into little details; they thought about everything and make you feel very welcome! Very helpful and easy check-in (we have been running late). Definitely 5 stars!

Unfortunately the air conditioner in the hut was not working and obviously had not been working for some time. Due to the extreme heat and humidity we could not complete our stay and had to leave. Owners refunded our money.

August is our cooler and dryer winter month without extreme heat and generally a time when air conditioning is not deemed essential, especially if the room is equipped with ceiling fan and louvre windows. The faulty air con was repaired under warranty the next working day. I was surprised guests decided not to stay, however refunded full payment. I was also surprised they claimed to know it had not been working for a while when we didn’t even know…

What an amazing place to stay! We so enjoyed our 3 nights here. It’s so well thought out and has everything you need to provide a total get away from it all. Really clean and comfortable. The amazing outside kitchen and hot tub are really fantastic. We also managed to walk down to the beach for sunrise which was awesome, then back for fresh coffee and breakfast cooked on the BBQ.
