Very nice place

The property comes as promised. Very large garden with beautiful vegetation and fruit trees, small soccer field which the kids loved. Large, clean pool with loose tiles around it ( watch your toes). 5 bedrooms, all with A/C, as well as large common spaces. North American sized fridge and tv were very convenient. Only issues were ants everywhere and difficult access to the house with many very narrow streets to navigate( you have to pull over on the shoulder or ditch every time another car comes towards you). To be fair, these latter issues are common to most of Provence and you get used to them. I would definitely stay there again.

Schönes Anwesen, leider mit einem Punkt Abzug.

Ein sehr schönes Anwesen, großzügiges Haus, sehr freundlicher Verwalter, guter Kontakt zum Besitzer. Punktabzug gibt es leider für die 2 Schlafräume (4+5)die als ineinander übergehend, bzw Tür an Tür bezeichnet wurden. Es zeigte sich ein kleines SL-Zi ohne Schrank von dem innen aus eine steile alte Holzstiege in eine weiter SL-Kammer führt. Völlig ungeeignet für Kleinkinder, Paare, ob für Jugendliche, das muss man sich gut überlegen. Wir planten, diese Zimmer Sohn mit Frau und 3 Kindern (9 Mon., 2u.4 J) zu geben, weil dies praktisch zu sein schien. Die Schlaf- und Platzsituation, die sich hier aber zeigte, war mehr als beengt, der obere Bereich für die Kleinen ungeeignet. Ein Rückzug am Tage (Ruhezeit der Kinder etc.) war daher auch wenig entspannend, weil sehr eng. Um deren Kleider unterzubekommen musste der Wäscheständer, aufgestellt vor dem Zimmer, genutzt werden. Auch im großen Master-Bedroom fehlt ein Kleiderschrank, es finden sich nur eine Kommode und ein alter Holzkleiderständer. Da wir vier erwachsene Paare ( +4 Kinder) waren, war ein Tausch der Zimmer wegen der Unterbringung der Kinder nicht möglich. Das sollte unbedingt besser kommuniziert werden. Ansonsten gibt es nichts zu bemängeln und wir hatten eine gute Zeit.

Wonderful Home

I stayed here with my husband and two young children for a week. The home is large, comfortable, clean, and fully equipped. The garden and the pool are the highlight though, truly paradise. The garden is planted with such a beautiful range of trees and flowers we felt spoiled after seeing the jardin perfumeire. We did a beach club in cannes, and did dinner a few nights in the city, easy drive 20mins. My husband played tennis every morning at the MTA tennis academy. We were well taken care of, and would come back and share it with friends any time.

Wonderful stay in Mougins

We had a great experience renting this property. The owner is very helpful and easy to deal with. He answered a lot of questions in advance of our stay and provided very useful information. On arrival we were greeted by the housekeeper, Evelyne, who was also very helpful in settling us in, and some beers, wine and soft drinks courtesy of the owner in the fridge. The villa is very nice inside. There is a spacious kitchen and living area and the bedrooms are well sized. The garden area is extensive. There is a lovely stone table immediately outside where lunch and dinner can be eaten and there is also an outside bar and dining table down by the pool. The pool is of a very good size and there is also table tennis, badminton and boules games available. The location is excellent - around 20 minutes by car to Cannes, 35 minutes to Antibes or 10 minutes to Mougins old town which is beautiful and full of lovely restaurants to eat at in the evening. We drove to dinner on occasion, but also got Ubers and used a local driver who we could whatsapp for pick ups and drop offs. There is a pharmacy, bakery, butchers shop, fishmongers and wine shop within a 5 minute drive and three supermarkets to choose from, which are also around 10 minutes by car. Evelyne comes once a week to change all the sheets over and can also clean the property. Overall this is a lovely villa in an excellent location. We would certainly stay here again.

I communicated with both the owner and property manager and found them to be very helpful and prompt in answering questions. Property was exactly as described, pool was wonderful and great for relaxing after full day of sites. Interior very nice and easy to operate all appliances and TV. We had a great week. Cheers

Wir waren Mitte September in diesem Haus und können es wirklich nur weiterempfehlen! Wir hatten jeden Tag um die 28 Grad und blauen Himmel! Das Haus ist wunderschön und es hat uns wirklich an nichts gefehlt! Die Ausstattung ist sehr hochwertig, Betten sehr bequem und auch in der Küche ist wirklich alles da was man braucht! Der Außenbereich ist der absolute Wahnsinn, es gibt sehr viele Sitz- und Loungemöglichkeiten und der Pool ist rießig. Ich würde jederzeit wieder diese Location buchen und kann es nur jedem empfehlen. Die Lage ist auch unschlagbar, man ist in ca. 25 Minuten zu Fuß in Mougins, 10 min (Auto) zum Strand in Cannes und ca. 30 min (Auto) in Nizza. Wir haben uns dort wirklich alles sehr wohl gefühlt. Wir waren zu 8 dort (nur Erwachsene) und hatten auf jedenfall ausreichend Platz. Auch die Kommunikation mit Alex vor und nach der Reise war sehr nett und super angenehm! Vielen Dank Alex das wir in deinem wundervollen Haus Gäste sein durften! Es war ein wunderschöner Urlaub, den wir alle nie vergessen werden! Wir kommen sicherlich wieder! :)

Superb villa, perfect for families

Fantastic villa with plenty of space and enclosed so safe for kids to roam and play. Table tennis and a badminton court (on loose stones) for the big kids and of course an amazing pool! A bit remote, about 25 mins to nearest small village and 40 to mougins but not an easy walk so not easy to just pop to the shop for some water. We rented a car though and were doing huge stops as we were a group of 8 adults and 2 toddlers so this didn't bother us. Taxi to Cannes about £30 so easy to get to for a day out. Mrs Arnold that checked us in was super friendly and very helpful. Really recommend for large groups or families. Very well equipped kitchen as well! Perfect!

Super house, great location

Very enjoyable stay at La salamandre. Great house for adults and kids, with the heated pool being a fantastic temperature and popular with the other two littluns. Golf heaven in Mougins

We were with a group of 8 serious golf players and rented La Salamandre. We visited 4 stunning golf courses near Mougins. One of the best is just 1 km from the villa. It was a great experience. We had a warm welcome by caretakers Mrs and Mr Arnold. We immediately felt at home in the atmosphere of the place. The villa is spacious. We cooked our own meals in the well equipped and cozy kitchen. The garden is beautiful and big with different terraces to chill. We used the pool heating because when we were there the temperature dropped at night. It was the best villa renting experience we ever had so we certainly will be back! There are 7 other golf courses nearby that we did not visit yet. Thanks!

Well appointed house downstairs and lovely pool.

Two of the bedrooms are very small but not in them much. It is shame the pool had to have a fence around it when we arrived. But without the fence it was one of the best we have used.

Perfect holiday with friends & family

We are a group of 8 adults and 3 kids traveling together since almost 10 years. We’ve been to many places but we never found a place like La Salamandre before. We were introduced by lovely Mrs. and Mr. Arnolds who made us feel at home within seconds. The house was in a perfect condition upon arrival. While we love cooking, we used the big and well equipped kitchen and the Weber BBQ every day. During the day we enjoyed the spacious garden and of course the heated pool, went to Cannes, Mougins or Antibes (which is just a short walk/drive away) or just did nothing. We loved the cosy bedrooms at night and the new bathrooms in the morning. We spent two weeks at La Salamandre and wished we could stay another two weeks. If you ever look for the perfect place to spent your vacation at La Salamandre will be it. We will definitely come back one day. Thanks Alex for being such a wonderful host! Markus

Another lovely stay at wonderful La Salamandre

Our big extended family of 14 people (10 adults and 4 toddlers) from Stockholm have just spent another wonderful week at La Salamandre. The house is certainly big enough for all of us and the garden is spacious enough to allow solitude if wanted. The caretakers are lovely people and the owner very helpful and quick to respond if needed. A stroll up to Old Mougins and a sip of wine at Le Cave du Mougins adds to the experience of the stay at La Salamandre. Thank you for another lovely holiday! We will be back!

Lovely Villa for a big Family celebration !

We had a great celebration week in June with 6 adults and 5 children ( 1-9Y ). The House is beautiful and very well situated in a quiet area, with a huge garden where children can play and explore. The lovely Pool is big and fresh ( saltwater ) and of course the centre of activities. All though we did play table tennis, badminton, and football ( France Euro2016 ). Even a game of pool one afternoon when it rained. The rest of the week was sunny and in the end hot. Thanks for AC in the bedrooms. The Kitchen is well equipped and we used the new Barbecue Grill more or less every evening for our family dinner on the patio with nice view. Bedooms & Bathrooms are very fresh. We can very much recommend the Villa Salamandre , and both Alex & the Arnolds are very easy and supportive. We hope to come back some day. Many Thanks from Sweden :-)

Cosy in the winter time too

We had a lovely wintry stay in La Salamandre with our two kids (10 and 5) and one grandparent. The house is very cosy when inside (this was often for us as our stay was during a very rainy February week) with games and an open fire. But once the sun comes out, it is close to the seaside for sunny wintry walks in Cannes or Mougins, or just to play football and table tennis in the garden. It felt like a home from home and we hope to come again in the spring/summer.

Fantastic villa, fantastic holiday

8 of us stayed at this villa last month. we had an amazing time and thought the villa was beautiful. The owner was very polite and helpful and we were greeted by a lovely lady who looks after the villa. The gardens and pool area are incredible and the best we have ever had. the only down side was that there is no aircon, however France was experiencing a heat wave whilst we were there. The villa is very well equipped and we spent most evenings in, cooking big family meals and using the BBQ. The area is lovely and very close to Cannes. We went to a lovely restaurant called villa paridiso which is only a 5min drive away. lovely service and great food. we would love to come back!! The Blunstones (Buckinghamshire England)

Perfect holiday in beautiful villa!

The best vacation ever has just been spent in La Salamandre in Mougins! Lovely pool and surrounding garden. Well equipped villa with a beautiful patio outside where the evenings were spent. We were a party of 10 grown ups and 4 infants from Sweden and the villa and the pool were definitely large enough for all of us! Many thanks from Sweden!

Best holiday ever!

We have just returned home from a 4-week stay in this magnificent home. We were in a group of 12 people - 5 adults and 7 kids ages 2months to 8 years. I can't be more positive about our holiday. First, the house has a lot of character, a kitchen any woman can only dream of, and it is very spacious (please note that one of the interconnected bedrooms is best for teenagers or older kids and not suitable for small kids, elderly people and those demanding a lot of space and comport ;). Second, the garden is extremely spacious and beautiful, with many tall trees that provide a lot of shade, with 2 squirrels living on one of the pine trees. Third, the neighbourhood is very quiet, so we did not hear any noisy groups near us. Fourth, it is very near to the old town of Mougins with picturesque streets, beautiful views and excellent restaurants. The house is only 15 minutes away from Cannes and 30 minutes to Nice airport. And, of course, I cannot but mention the gardener Ken, who was also our neighbour, who was a great help in every possible matter. Many thanks to Alex for sharing the house with us. We fell in love with Mougins and are now planning to relocate there. So, Alex and Ken, we should get together for a barbecue when we come over!
