About this property

God's Country Cabins- Mercy I Close to Town

Come, sit, and relax on the porch of one of our newly built cabins. Take in the fresh air and enjoy the countryside views, wildlife, farm animals, and breathtaking sunsets. Our four cabins, Faith, Hope, Mercy, and Grace, each feature their own rustic/elegant style and charm. All the cabins sleep two on a king sized bed with luxurious sheets and bedding, while the bathrooms each feature a large shower and copper sink.

The kitchen has a full sized refrigerator and microwave oven along with a full size coffee maker with teas and other goodies.

We have a beautiful gazebo outside in the common area with a charcoal grill and a large table to gather around and enjoy the country life. Don't forget to bring charcoal and something to grill!

Our cabin, Hope, has an outdoor shower to enjoy along with a private deck with lounge chairs in the back to sit and relax. The stars are amazing at night from this deck view. THIS OPTION IS ONLY FOR HOPE GUESTS!

We are out in the country but only 6 miles from Fredericksburg where you can walk down Main Street, shop, eat wonderful food, check out the wineries, or even learn a bit of history at the Admiral Nimitz museum. Marktplatz on Main St. is where most of Fredericksburg's sought-after events take place.

Beautiful country cabins

Wonderful cabins, we enjoyed the quiet so much. We loved waking up to the cattle in the mornings and watching the deer in the evenings. We loved it so much we decided to find a weekend all the cabins are available and make it a girls weekend with our girlfriends. I’ve stayed at many vrbos throughout Fredericksburg, and this was a beautiful place and I we will be back!

Mercy Cabin

This is the most amazing place to stay. The accommodations are outstanding. The bed is the most comfortable bed you can imagine. This is our second time to stay there and will can't wait to come back. The country side is beautiful to sit and enjoy from the rockets on the porch. Plenty of deer to enjoy watching.

Our stay was wonderful, from the ease of late check-in to the snacks when we walked in to door, to the time we checked out. The rocking chairs on the front porch made for beautiful relaxing mornings. The cabin was cozy and homey just like the whole property. We will definitely be returning!

We had a great time at the property. Very clean and easy access. Check-in was ok, it would be more convenient if we didn't have to go to an office to pick up the key. Other properties we have rented had a lock box on property. The property it self was awesome, quiet and very clean. The common area was great with the grill, table and chairs. We will be back.

Breathtakingly beautiful, quiet, serene and relaxing beyond belief!

It’s a perfect place to getaway from the everyday stresses of life! My husband and I loved each little detail including the rocking chairs on the front porch, the fresh baked cookies, snacks & cold drinks when we arrived, the abundant wildlife surrounding the property, the unbelievably comfortable bed with the coziest sheets/pillows and the quiet seclusion from the city. Very quiet place

The only thing missing was a stove. I failed to check that when I booked and assumed there would be one. There is a gazebo outside. A common area for grilling, but nothing to be able to keep to yourself than a microwave. Still it is a very peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of every day life.

Simply the Best!

Our stay at the Mercy Cabin was just what we were hoping & looking for. I choose this cabin it because they said, “very clean, very comfortable bed, nice bed linens & walk In shower!” We were very pleased, they were true to their word. It was very clean & very comfortable. Watching the deer so close by, & it being so quiet & peaceful, really made our stay most pleasant. We will return again!! Enjoyed our time immensely!! It was close enough to run into town (6 mi.) for a meal, or shop towards the end when we got rested up. Thank you again & again. See you next time. Dp

God's Country Cabins are great. Gastehaus Schmidt could make some improvements.

God's Country Cabins were wonderful. I love Fredericksburg, but it can be a bit of a sensory overload. Nice to have a place outside of town to retreat. This is not the first time I've used Gastehaus Schmidt. I understand their "don't ask about early check-in til the day of arrival", and that's what I did. I went TO THE OFFICE just a few hours early. I was the ONLY person at God's Country Cabin, they wouldn't even take the time to check that no one had been there previously and hence was ready for check-in. When you are staying miles out of town, check-in a little early seems reasonable. My last stay with Gastehaus I stayed in Cain City. Waiting til 3pm to get a key in F-burg to then drive out into the country is not a great idea.
