LIFE IS BEACHY at The BABY GRAND COTTAGE on NORTH BEACH.

The Baby Grand is a cozy, clean, and comfortable cottage located JUST 60 YARDS to the beautiful and pristine sands of North Beach on Lake Michigan. The wonderful location allows you to relax and enjoy Beachy days as you come and go to the cottage for a snack, drink, or even a nap.

COTTAGE INFO
The Baby Grand has a relaxed and open floor plan with multiple sleeping options to choose from. The bedroom has a Queen size bed, there is a full size sofa bed (with a gel mattress), and there is also a twin daybed with a twin trundle bed. The cottage has a clean and easy feel to it and contains the essentials for preparing meals, grilling on the gas grill, dining indoor or outdoor, and watching movies in the evening.
Backpack beach chairs, a beach cart, beach umbrellas, and games and toys are available for your use.

Wifi and streaming tv included.

RENTAL DURATION
During the prime summer season we prefer to book the cottage for weekly stays from Saturday to Saturday as It keeps the turnover costs down so we can maintain reasonable rates for our guests. We do sometimes offer shorter stays in June, August, and in the off season.

PARKING
The Baby Grand has a driveway that accomodates two vehicles. A beach parking permit sticker is required for all other neighborhood street parking. Parking permits can be purchased for daily, weekly, monthly, and annual increments from the City of South Haven City Hall and the Police Department.

NO HILLS, NO BLUFFS, NO STAIRS
Just exit the cottage and walk down the Walk D path to the beautiful beach!!!

NEARBY PLACES AND THINGS TO DO
Located in the historic Monroe Park, the cottage is steps from the Black River walkway, and a short walk to the Stanley Johnston Memorial Park. Paddle boards and kayaks can be rented on the beach (next to the snack shop).
Bunde’s Bakery Cafe and the North Side Memories Deli & Convenience store are also close by and convenient for coffee, sandwiches, ice cream, and snacks.

Not far from there is the newly renovated and expanded Michigan Maritime Museum . The Friends Good Will (replica 1800’s sailing ship) offers daily sails and sunset cruises – weather permitting. Captain Lou’s Bar and Grill has great food and offers an outdoor seating area for you to watch the boats coming and going on the Black River.

You can continue your walk to Downtown South Haven where you can sign up and/or leave for some chartered fishing and/or a boat tour. You’ll find plenty of shopping in the many unique stores and dining in a variety of restaurants and eateries.

Relax on The Idler Riverboat with a fabulous South Haven Iced Tea while you watch the boats come in and out of the harbor. You can enjoy a first run movie at the vintage Michigan Theatre, play video games at the Rocket Arcade, and enjoy wine and IPAs from the downtown breweries and wine tasting rooms.

The South Haven Farm market is an open market that offers fresh local produce, food and baked goods, and unique gifts every Wednesday and Saturday during the summer season.

If you decide to venture further there are sand dunes, wineries, horseback riding, the Kal Haven Trail, and Van Buren Trail State Park to mention just a few.

This is our second visit to the Baby Grand. My sisters and I absolutely love this cottage. It’s a beautiful location, and everything we could possibly want is nearby. Also, Stacey is an amazing host. Very attentive and easily accessible. We are so excited to book again probably for next year. My sisters and I would like to make an annual visit out of this.

Great Anniversary Getaway

The Baby Grand was such a charming place to spend the weekend. Adjacent to the lake so we could enjoy the breeze even sitting on the couch with our morning coffee, and just a short walk from downtown so we could walk off our bloody marys at Captain Lous! A clean, safe, picturesque place for a weekend away with my hunny.

This charming cottage was the perfect place for our beach vacation in South Haven. It is within an easy walking distance to North Beach…no need to drive and try to find parking as there is parking at the property. Stacy was wonderful in communicating with us and answering any questions we had. She sent us daily beach reports and a calendar of local events. We’d love to come back. This cottage was equipped with everything we needed.

The location was great- a 2 minute walk to the beach! We also walked to downtown to restaurants and shop’s which was very convenient! The cottage was cozy with a lot of little conveniences! Nice TV with many channel choices! Overall- a great place to stay!

Had a wonderful week at the cottage. Everything you need for the week is provided. Great efficient kitchen. Air conditioning worked great during the hot afternoons. The cute little cottage was super clean, and our hosts thought of everything we might need for our stay. If you forgot to bring something, don't worry, they didn't. Best little get away

This is my third stay at this property. I travel a lot but when I come here, it’s just for me. The house has everything and need and then some so I can relax and escape reality. Friendly neighborhood too with walking distance to a couple cute places or if you like longer walks, into town is doable. I will be back!

The Best Beach Stay Ever!

North Beach and the convenience of this cottage could not be beat! The cottage had everything and more than we could hope for. I lived in Wisconsin on Lake Michigan for over 60 years but never experienced it like this. Perfect sandy beach, water so clear, water temperature totally comfortable. Unbelievable. Close to the beach!

Just a short walk to the water and quieter than being right on the public beach. Parking available for 2 vehicles so no need to buy a parking pass. Cable TV, internet and AC are available. Updated kitchen space & new ceiling fans in 2019 & it sounds like additional improvements to the property are coming. We have been staying here almost every summer since 2002.

We first stayed at the "Baby Grand" in 2002 and have been coming back almost every year since. Ideal for 2 people or 4 if everyone really likes each other! Has parking for 2 vehicles so you don't have to buy a parking sticker. Has Wi-fi and cable and Air Conditioning which is really needed on some days. North Beach is just down the walkway but it is quieter on Grand Street than having a cottage right off the beach parking lot. Clean and neat with plenty of refrigerator space and the kitchenette has anything you might need.

We live outside of Detroit and are starting to think about retirement in the next few years. The kids are mostly grown so we're excited to have time to spend at our Baby Grand Cottage!

Why they chose this property

I had been renting the Baby Grand Cottage for many years and fell in love with everything - the Cottage, the quirky neighborhood, North Beach, and the town of South Haven. When Carl and I met in 2015 this became a special place for us and so when the opportunity to purchase it came up we couldn't resist. We love owning the cottage and sharing it with our guests and we know you'll enjoy staying here every bit as much as we do!

What makes this property unique

This is a quaint and quirky 100 year old cottage just steps from the beautiful beach and the Black River walkway. The cottage has an open concept, a full and stocked kitchen, and comfortable beds - everything you need to enjoy a beach vacation! We also have two driveway parking spots in a very desirable neighborhood.
