Jim and family was great! Amazing clean place with gorgeous views of the mountains! We seen lots of wildlife everyday driving to go do stuff! Fishing was great on the Arkansas just a short drive away! Would definitely rent again!

Thank you so much for the wonderful review! We’re delighted that you and your family enjoyed The Hideaway. That is a beautiful rainbow trout you caught! It was a pleasure hosting you, and we would be very happy to welcome you back anytime!
What an amazing property! Beautiful and spacious with outstanding mountain views. The property even has its own ruins from a hundred year old ghost town. There is a national forest trailhead just up the road for hiking or biking. The property would be a great base camp for whatever your adventure plans. Only wish we could have stayed longer.
The hideaway is truly a hidden gem! This is a first time we have experienced a place without a compromise on the view, the place, or the location. The pictures don’t quite do the beauty of this area justice. It is a both beautiful and peaceful with wildlife and the sounds of the nearby creek. We saw deer while sitting on the deck and even an elk near the property. A newly updated and well appointed home with large rooms and comfortable beds. The deck is pretty special place for breakfast. The location was secluded but still a short and incredibly beautiful drive to Salida and the Arkansas River. What an incredible spot!Went with our adult children and their spouses. Lots to do on the property and in the area. Great trip!!Sent from my iPhone
We rented for a small, family-only wedding. It was absolutely beautiful. The place was clean, had all the accommodations we could ask for, including a full, well-supplied kitchen and comfortable beds. The views were outstanding. It was nice to just hang out on the deck and inside in the family room. Big dining room table made our dining with the large group great. They even have a fenced in area for dogs! There's a nice hiking path on the property that takes you to an even more spectacular view. It's also close to other activities.

Thanks for the great review, Scott. I home yours is the first of many happy family celebrations on the property. Come back in late spring or fall for even more beautiful weather!
We had an amazing experience staying here. The views from the house and the deck were absolutely stunning. Everything was so cozy, the beds were really comfortable and there was plenty of space for hanging out and relaxing. The decorations are very thoughtful and inviting and there was no lack anywhere, everything we needed for function and fun were provided for from movies and games to every kitchen appliance and tool. Our kids are already asking when we can return! Our host was available to answer our questions, told us about the local area and things to do nearby and made us feel very welcome and appreciated.

Thank you so much for the glowing review! We are thrilled to hear your family had such a wonderful time and that the kids are already looking forward to a return trip—that’s the best compliment we could receive. It was a pleasure sharing our home with you. We put a lot of heart into putting it together last year, so we’re glad you found everything you needed for a relaxing stay. We can't wait to welcome you all back soon!
We had an incredible stay here with our family of four, along with a couple of friends who joined us. The home was spotless—truly felt like a 5-star hotel, but with the comfort and space of a private house. The views were absolutely stunning, and it’s easy to see why this area is known for its consistently beautiful weather—it made the whole experience even better. One of the highlights was how much there was to explore right from the property. Our kids loved adventuring in the huge open quarry up the road, hiking the private road to the secluded box canyon, and exploring the historic ghost town of Calcite on the property—such unique experiences.Inside, the home was just as thoughtfully set up. There were plenty of toys and games that kept our kids happily entertained, and the kitchen had everything we needed to comfortably prepare meals during our stay.We also took a trip into Salida and spent time at the riverside park, which was a great outing and an easy complement to all the exploring back at the house. If you’re looking for a peaceful, beautiful place with plenty of outdoor adventure, this is it. We’d absolutely stay here again.
Absolutely gorgeous views in a peaceful secluded home not far from Salida. Wonderful vacation spot that I highly recommend! From the outside the home didn't look like much, but inside it was beautiful and so much more spacious than it first seemed. We had multiple families with kids, but never felt cramped. We had rain the first day and enjoyed the fireplace and games. The second night was beautiful so we actually set up tents in the magnificent quarry on property and slept peacefully under the stars. It was fun to walk through the historic remnants of a former mining town right there next to the home! Stunning hikes without even needing to drive anywhere, but a short trip down to Salida provided a day of fun along the river. The homeowner living on property was so nice and helpful when we needed him, but we never intrusive. I'm sure there are other nice places to stay in the area, but we wouldn't want to stay anywhere else!
