Fabulous 2BR/1BAhouse in a great location - close to beach and close to the action on the 101! (casita/ADU also available for reservations >30 days). No check-ins on Sundays. Contract required - see rental agreement in listing for example of contract. You will have to cancel reservation yourself if you provide false/inaccurate information or won't sign the contract. NOTE my cancellation policy differs from VRBO's.
Encinitas Beach Haus is a lovely contemporary beach bungalow in the heart of downtown Encinitas and only 1/2 block to breathtaking ocean views. Beach access is just blocks away at Swami's, D Street, or Moonlight Beach (C and B street). The house is located West of the 5 freeway AND West of Coastal Highway 101, meaning no highway crossing required to access the beach. It features a sleek, stylish design boasting high-end finishes and appliances, including bamboo flooring throughout, expansive exposed beam ceilings, La Cantina door to enhance indoor/outdoor living, and stainless steel KitchenAid appliances. The main house offers 2 bedrooms (both with King beds – perfect for 4 people), 1 bathroom w/shower, plus an open-concept kitchen, dining area and living room with modern gas fireplace (this provides heat for the front house). The large back courtyard features outdoor seating, gas firepit, and large bar island with lots of space. The bedrooms have shades on the main windows, but they are more for privacy than for blocking light. If you are sensitive to light, I recommend you bring an eyemask. Like most houses in coastal San Diego, this house does not have a/c. (At the back of the property there is a casita/ADU that is available for 30+ day rentals only. The casita/ADU offers 1 bedroom (with 2 Queen beds), 1 bathroom plus living room with sofa bed, kitchenette, skylights, ceiling fan…but only for rentals >30 days. There will be an additional nightly charge if renting the casita/ADU (30+ day rentals only). If you are renting only the front house, there will be no one in the casita/ADU while you are there so you will not be sharing the yard with anyone. The laundry room is in the casita/ADU but other than the laundry room renters will have no access to the casita/ADU.)

This home is located within walking distance to 2 great beaches: Moonlight Beach in Encinitas (about 6 blocks) and Swami’s beach in Cardiff (about 0.4 miles). Moonlight Beach is a wonderful family-friendly beach that features sand volleyball courts, playground equipment, fire pits, tennis courts and new facilities, including restrooms, beachside snack hut and equipment rental shops. Swami’s is one of the greatest surf beaches in the area and is located next to the world-famous Self Realization Fellowship Hermitage & Meditation Gardens. You can walk through the gardens just down the street from the Beach Haus. Included in your rental are beach chairs, beach wagon and other gear and to help you enjoy your time at the beach. An outdoor shower with hot water allows you to easily rinse off the sand from your day.

Please note: This is a very nice house and is special to us. If you can not treat the house with respect and follow all the rules (no additional people, no social gatherings of any kind, no pets, no smoking of any kind, etc.), then this is not the rental for you. You will be required to complete a contract sent to you by the owner before your reservation will be considered final. Casita/ADU on property only for rentals >30 days. Discounts available for longer term rentals. No a/c on property (but plenty of fans) and no heat other than the fireplace in the front house.

Encinitas Beach Haus is only 2 blocks to all the wonderful shopping and restaurants available on Coastal Highway 101. There you will find many dining and drinking options within walking distance to keep you entertained throughout your stay including City Taco, Culture Brewing, Encinitas Ale House, Union Kitchen & Tap, Blue Ribbon Pizza, Trattoria I Trulli, The Taco Stand, Swami’s Café, The Bier Garden, Urbn Pizza, Cali Cream and so many more.

If you need a break from the beach, Encinitas also is home to many yoga studios, the classic La Paloma movie theater, and the San Diego Botanic Garden with four miles of garden trails and numerous exhibits including rare bamboo groves, desert gardens, a tropical rainforest, California native plants, Mediterranean climate landscapes, succulent gardens, an herb garden, firesafe landscaping, a subtropical fruit garden, and native coastal sage natural areas. The meditation gardens are just down the street and are incredibly peaceful and beautiful.

Outside of Encinitas but still close, you can enjoy the Del Mar racetrack, Carlsbad, Legoland, Sea World, the San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Parks, Seaport Village, Cedros Design District, the Stephen Birch Aquarium, Torrey Pines for hiking, Balboa Park, Coronado Island, Old Town and the downtown Gaslamp District. Within a 1-hour drive in Anaheim are Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm.

There is no end to the fun San Diego offers, and most are a quick drive or train ride from Encinitas. The central location of this special home allows you to leave the car behind and enjoy many wonderful in-town experiences, or hop on the Coaster (train) and explore further afield.

Cameras are installed on the outside of the house for security purposes only. Home is not to be used for business events and NO PARTIES/SOCIAL GATHERINGS are allowed. Only people listed on the contract are allowed on the premises. Any infractions of these rules could result in your security deposit not being returned. Maximum of 5 adults. Not child-proofed and not suitable for very young children. No access to the casita/ADU for short-term renters other than use of the laundry room.
