I’ve stayed in a lot of different places around Pittsburgh over the past 15 years for work, medical appointments, and just for fun, and this was easily one of my favorite stays—if not my favorite. The property was beautiful, exceptionally clean, comfortable, and an incredible value for what you get. It had everything I needed and really felt like a place where I could settle in and feel at home rather than just somewhere to stay.Both check-in and checkout were incredibly easy, and everything about the stay was smooth from beginning to end. The space was well maintained, thoughtfully set up, and exactly what I needed for my time in Pittsburgh.I’ve paid considerably more for places that weren’t nearly as nice or comfortable as this one. I would absolutely stay here again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, beautiful, and reasonably priced place to stay in Pittsburgh. This one will definitely be at the top of my list the next time I’m in town.

I was highly disappointed and left part way through my stay. First, it was too cold. The remote for the split AC unit was marked "AC Only" so I did not think it could be used for heat. There is no thermostat in the unit to control the temp. I called and the host turned up the thermostat and made it comfortable. However, with Pittsburgh weather, it warmed up the next day and was then way too hot. Another call to have that adjusted. The final straw was when I called in the morning to tell them that the people in the upstairs unit were playing loud music at 2 in the morning and they said they could not do anything about that. Why then do they stress having noise sensors in the units if they are not willing to take any action on it. The internet was wonky: my phone connected to the satellite in the unit with the supplied password, my iPad could only connect to the satellite with the admin password, and my laptop could only connect to the upper unit. All routinely dropped my connection as well. I left half way through my stay. The reimbursement went smoothly.

We are the highest rated hosts in the US, with a 4.94 / 5 across over 17k reviews, and we are confident that our future guests will love our place! For future guests - our thermostat is controlled via an app - Rick had access to it but refused to use it. We happily controlled it for him on his behalf, though. Regarding noise, we certainly did not tell him "we could not do anything about that." That said, we cannot kick a guest out at 2am, but we can and did warn them that if the noise continues we would terminate their reservation. Our decibel meters provide evidence for cancellation with cause, when needed. The decibel level in our upstairs apartment was only ~55, however, and we have never had a noise complaint since this incident. We're not sure what Rick is referencing via internet; we do not use "satellite" and we only have two networks; an Admin network and a Guest-facing network. If our guest is having issues with the guest network, we provide admin. All of our devices were working correctly, so it seemed to be a user device problem, not a network problem. Because Rick was such a difficult, unhappy guest, we waived our cancellation policy and gave him a refund for the remaining nights...and to show his "kindness" he still left a 2* review.
