Boathound Lake is a 2 Bedroom duplex property containing a Queen Size bed & 2 single beds backing on the North bank of Melrose lake .
The house has a very relaxing outdoor area overlooking the Lake.
The area is conveniently located to all amenities. including the shopping Centre, Hotel, Eateries, Beach & Boat Mooring Ramp.
All within a few minutes drive or comfortable, flat, walking shoes.
Your favourite fur baby (dog) is most welcome to accompany you on your holiday.
Remember This house is self clean or it can be arranged if required. And don't forget to bring your own sheets towels and pillow cases and air-con/dryer are PAYG (need $2 coins to operate) and no Wifi to house and no consumables supplied.

Lovely stay with some surprises

The location and facilities are great. It's a beautiful property and the view of the pond and wildlife is breath taking. For a small family such as ours, just one child, the space is perfect. We were surprised that the air conditioning is only in the living area and requires a coin payment of $2 per 4 hours. A similar payment system is wired in for the dryer. This was not clear to us on the booking website. While the house appears quite clean due to the black and white colour scheme, we were concerned to see a fair amount of dog hair and dust throughout upon closer inspection. The outdoor area had dog hair on every surface, chairs, tables, couch etc. The indoor area had some as well, especially the couch and floors, but also some in the beds. Some dust was on surfaces too, the TV stand and bedside table for example. The owner was very responsive and attempted to clean for us. However the vacuum cleaner is old and the dog hair and dust is greater then it might have seemed to them. Mopping and wiping of surfaces is needed, we suggest a Bond clean, there are such services on the island. We knew this was a pet friendly home, however, we believe it is reasonable to make more effort to clean animal hair from the inside of the house at least. We know now that we have mild allergies, so lesson learned. Also, in fairness we did not contact the owners a second time about the cleaning, we just wanted to relax. Nevertheless, the place is great value for money and if the owner attends to the issues above we would definitley stay again. We hope our feedback is taken in good spirit. Kindly Brent and Yenita
