Panoramic Mountain Views From This Private Mountain Cabin.

Giant's View Lodge is a breathtaking vacation rental cabin located in Keene Valley, mid-way up Porter Mountain in the Adirondacks. Peacefulness and privacy abound here, amidst a wooded backdrop with incredible views of Giant Mountain and the Southern end of the Great Range of the High Peaks. The sunny clearing features a gently sloping yard with lovely perennial gardens, a 50 foot wraparound deck, and a large screened porch for dining or enjoying the panoramic mountain views.

From the lodge it is only a 2 mile jaunt to "the Garden" (hiking trailhead), from which countless hiking and skiing trails can be accessed.

The lodge is a custom-built, 3,400 square-foot, beautifully appointed log home, with hardwood floors throughout, a fieldstone fireplace dominating the Great Room, cathedral ceilings, a fully equipped gourmet kitchen/dining area, complete with granite counters and new stainless steel appliances. Providing lodging for up to 12 adults, sleeping areas include four bedrooms plus a spacious sleeping loft, accompanied by three bathrooms, the master bath featuring a 2-person shower and 2-person deep soaking bathtub. Adirondack furnishings abound, and of course, floor-to-ceiling windows everywhere.

Extra fees per night for more than 4 guests are automatically applied at a rate of $25 per person. Note, this rate will be manually adjusted to $40 during peak season. If you have children under 15 years old, contact us for special family rates.

Pets are allowed at a fee of $100 per pet. Note, if you have more than one pet, VRBO will not automatically add the fees for the additional pets. Contact owner to arrange the extra pet payment.

I highly recommend the Giant’s View Cabin.House: The house is spacious, well-appointed, clean, and everything works. It can accommodate a large family or group. There were only four of us on our trip, which gave each couple room to spread out and have a lot of privacy. The view from the porch of Giant Mountain across the valley is spectacular. You can also watch the sun rise and the moon rise from the porch, weather permitting.Location: The house is quiet and feels very secluded even though it is only a five-minute drive off the main road. We came for the hiking, and there are a variety of hikes within a twenty-minute drive, from moderate 3-5-milers to big ones that climb 3,000 feet straight up. The town of Keene Valley and nearby Keene are small but have a handful of shops and the essentials (a small grocery, a liquor store, a bakery, etc.). Lake Placid, which has big stores, is a 25-minute drive.Owners: Laura and Ray are fantastic. They are super responsive and friendly. We will definitely return to Giant’s View.

Wonderful property!

We’ve stayed here twice and we all absolutely love the house. The proximity to Keene and so many trailheads make this a great place to stay when hiking in ADK.

Lovely warm cabin sitting on mountain overlooking Giant Mtn and Keene Valley. Very quiet and peaceful. As an fyi, 4 wheel drive was necessary during our visit. Highly recommend and would visit again.

The views from this property are amazing! Beautiful scenery from every angle. The home accommodated our group of 7 comfortably. The owners and property manager were easy to communicate with and attentive. We really enjoyed our stay!

We stayed in Giants View with our friends and our children! The house was exactly as listed and reviewed! The view was outstanding and the surrounding area offered so many hikes and activities for us and our kids! We had an amazing time and hope to return to the Nardelli’s house again!

What a wonderful location to experience the April 2024 solar eclipse.

The house was perfect. We had 10 adults and 2 little dogs and lots of room. Great communication with the owners. Kitchen was well stocked. Thank you for a wonderful vacation.

What a beautiful house and location! So close to the trails for hiking or you can just sit on the deck and take in the views. The house was well equipped, very clean, very well cared for and we also really appreciated the clarity of instructions for use of the house. Great hosts!

Gorgeous, peaceful, secluded views. Clean, comfortable, quality furnishings and design. Easy communication. We enjoyed Keene Valley and Keene. We were glad one room had blinds for the kids as it was hard to resist the beautiful morning light. Agree with other reviews here - we would gladly come back.

Beautiful place to recharge

My family and I traveled to Lake Placid to support our son as he raced at Junior Nationals and this home was such a great spot to come back and relax each day. Everyone slept well, we had plenty of space for meals and the host was great communicating with us about our power loss after the storm. Looking forward to returning in the future!

We had a very good time at giant view Lodge. Our hosts were very accommodating. The house was spacious. There were six of us. The kitchen was excellent. We cooked all our meals. Access to the high peaks was perfect. And our dogs had a very good time.

Settling in Keene Valley in 1991, after purchasing and running Trail's End Inn for five years, we built our dream house overlooking Giant Mountain. Avid hikers, cyclists, rock climbers and general outdoor enthusiasts, we feel very fortunate to own this house in one of the most beautiful and peaceful areas of the country.

Why they chose this property

Keene Valley is a very special place with an amazing small town community. It didn't take us long to decide that we wanted to build a house and settle here, where we imagine spending time with our grand children one day. What we love about our home is the breathtaking views and privacy.

What makes this property unique

Our log house is built in classic Adirondack style with cedar post railings, a large fieldstone fireplace, large country kitchen, and views from every window in the house.
