About the host
Hosted by Tayele Kringen
During covid my husband and I had dreams of moving from city life (Phoenix) to the country. We dreamed of moving to northern Arizona and fell in love with Williams. It has taken nearly 5 years of hard work to gain all the permits, secure funding, and build our beautiful campground but we are so happy to finally open The Moon Hotel and share our amazing space with guests! Cole still works full time as an engineer and Tayele works in Flagstaff as a microbiologist. We love spending time around the campfire with guests and showing off the night sky through our telescopes.
Why they chose this property
One of the longest parts of the process of building a campground was finding the perfect land. It took a few years but we are so happy with the space we call home. The Moon Hotel is conveniently located off highway 64 and about 10 miles north of Williams. It is in a Bortle 2 zone so the stars are amazing with the milky way visible on clear nights. The Grand Canyon Railway goes through our property so you can wave as the train goes by twice a day.
What makes this property unique
In a world lost of connection and wonder it was important for us to create a space where you can decompress and experience the universe. The owners operate the campground and care deeply about the guest experience, a rarity in todays time. If you need anything we live onsite and are always happy to go above and beyond to make your vacation special. We purposely setup the campground in a way to inspire new connections by hosting communal campfires and star talks. Even though we have great internet we recommend putting the phone away and being present, you never know what you may see in the night sky.
