About this property
Semi-Oceanfront! Incredible Views, End of Season Specials! Heated Pool!
6BR/5bath, Semi-Oceanfront! 75 yards to beach access from driveway (public beach access is over a small dune), Pool with heater (new heater in 2024), Hot Tub (new in 2023), Ocean/Beach Views from ALL bedrooms!, Watch the sunrise over the ocean in the morning and the sun setting over the sound in the evening! Game Room with Pool Table/TV/beverage fridge.
We purchased the house in 2018 and have made updates from top to bottom. We have purchased new furniture, appliances, painted the interior and exterior and redone all the carpeting and most of the flooring. We keep you and your little ones in mind with a high chair, pack n play, and beach gear.
This house is perfect for families. The house has a reverse floor plan (kitchen and open floor plan great room on the top level to enjoy the best views). Breathtaking ocean views from every bedroom in the house. Sound views from the great room upstairs to watch the most spectacular sunsets. This home is equipped with a private saltwater pool with optional pool heat and a hot tub. Come and enjoy the surf and the sand with our complimentary beach gear and cooler for your convenience and enjoyment. Charcoal and propane grills are provided for the perfect cook out down in the pool area.
Enter through the front door onto the first level into the game room with a pool table, smart tv, wet bar, full size fridge. There is also a room that overlooks the beach with a twin over full bunk bed, a shared bathroom and a room with a queen size bed that also overlooks the ocean. Sliders from this level exit out to the patio where the hot tub is located.
There is a washer dryer area on the landing between the 1st and 2nd levels. On the second level there are 2 king master suites and a room with 2 twin beds with an en suite bath.
Follow the stairs up to the top floor where there is an open concept great room. Dining room seating fits 10, with additional seating at the breakfast bar for 4. Panoramic views of both the beach and sound offering stunning views of both sunrise and sunset. There is an additional king master bedroom on this level that shares the bathroom with the great room. A reading nook is also located on the landing just above this level.
If all of those stairs look like just too much for you or your family, an elevator is available to take you from the ground level all the way up (initial access to the property made through the front door on 2nd level).
The house is stocked with a pack n play, as well as a high chair to make your stay as comfortable as possible with your entire family. Limited selection of kids toys, games and books are also available to make your stay more enjoyable. We have 2 small boys and know how helpful it is to have some of these things already there when you travel and we want to make your vacation as easy as possible.
Pool Heat is available for an additional charge of $500/week. Water temperature is generally around 80F, depending on air temperature, wind direction, sun/cloud conditions. Pool heater has a regulator that will turn off if air temperature is below 55-60F. Let us know at the time of booking and it can be added so that the pool is warm for your stay.
---Pool Open from beginning of April (April 5, 2025) to end of October. Hot Tub open year round!
To ensure you are in good hands during your vacation, we have partnered with the team at Seaside Vacations. You’ll find the house warm and inviting, nicely decorated, and most importantly nice and clean with linens and bath towels provided and everything ready so you can begin your vacation right away! About the host
Hosted by Cynthia and Eric Kelleher

We are the Kelleher Family. We love all types of adventures. We are Eric, Cynthia, William, and Connor. Buying a beach house has been a dream of ours for the last 10 years. The question was never if, but more so when and where, and how to do it right. We fell in love with the Outer Banks. The simplicity, the beautiful beaches, stunning views and sunrises and sunsets that you just can’t find anywhere else. Our kids were very young, so we knew that we needed a place with a pool. We were tired of looking for places that claimed to have a “beach view” but never being able to find photos of the elusive view, or arriving and having to stand on tip toes, leaning over the rail to be able to see the view.
Of course, we had to come up with a name. Eric had the idea to call the house “Sand Point” after Sand Point, Alaska. We spent a couple of summers on tiny Popof Island on the Aleutian chain and the community of 900 was called Sand Point (they have a sandy beach, but I never did find an actual point with sand on it). It was a magical summer of fishing, berry picking, hiking, making lifelong friends with some work thrown into the mix. We eventually became full time residents of Sand Point and lived there for several years while not in Rodanthe. We have recently moved to Durango, Colorado for a new adventure!

Why they chose this property
The views sealed the deal for us in this home. They were just too stunning, and from every room. The place needed a lot of work—a lot. So, we decided to sell our Denver home and just move in! We have replaced floors, put in a modern dishwasher (that actually cleans dishes), knives that actually cut (another pet peeve of mine as someone to who loves to cook), gave the inside and out a fresh coat of paint. We put in new furniture, bedding, new pillows and really turned it into a home that we love and want our guests to be able to enjoy.
My favorite thing at the beach is to take a nice long walk (usually 5 miles total) up the beach early in the morning (you find the best shells that way) and to watch dolphins playing in the surf. I have even found seals that come up on the beach to have a rest. Eric enjoys surf fishing in front of the house, paddleboarding, and the sound of the waves while relaxing on the decks. William tells me digging for pirate treasure and swimming in the pool are his favorites. Connor tells me his favorite is “BEACH!”.
