About this property

Breathtaking Beach House with Fireplace and Gorgeous Sights in Otis, Oregon

Lakefront Home -Pet friendly

Scandinavian modern lakefront home with dock. Bring the family, boat, and pets! Spacious home boasts lake views from nearly every window, and faces West for amazing sunsets! Walk on the beach, then play in the warm waters of Devils Lake. Ask about current occupancy limits and additional infants.

This is a 1973 Scandinavian modern lodge featuring cedar walls, knotty pine ceilings, and windows along the south and west sides of the home, providing lake views from nearly every room. The home has new comfortable furnishings, but preserves the fun of the original design's nautical, retro rustic, and Scandinavian details. At 3200 square feet, it is one of the most spacious homes available on the lake.

The great room is around 1000 square feet, with an open floorplan centered on a modern rock gas fireplace. One side has ample seating and 75 inch flat screen TV, perfect for watching sports or a web meeting for a corporate retreat. the other side has lakeview dining for the whole family. The dining area flows into a double galley kitchen, featuring a gas stove and indoor grill, with space for the whole family to cook together. At the opposite end of the kitchen, you will find a breakfast nook, dry bar, and sunroom with extra space for yoga or morning reflection.

The upstairs "guest" bedroom is private, and features a king sized bed with a crib available and a small tv. (Baby gate and high chair also provided).

Downstairs opens to the lakefront patio, where you can fish from our dock or soak your cares away in our hot tub.

The downstairs "camp" bedroom features lake views, a queen sized bed, 2 twins on a bunk bed, and an extra twin mattress. There is also a full rollaway that can be set up here.

The downstairs master bedroom features lake views and a queen sized bed, and a small tv.

There is also extra sleeping upstairs, the great room daybed is a twin sleeper, and the great room futon makes into a full sized bed.

If guests are not sharing beds, please let us know so that we can help you plan who will sleep where; baby crib is always available. Quality linens and Pendleton blankets are provided for all beds.

You'll find the home equipped with coffee, tea, staples, and basic spices. There are also games for all ages, children and adult books.

The kitchen is set up for cooking: toaster, coffeepot, espresso machine, looseleaf teapot, rice cooker, wok, stick blender, regular blender, cookie sheets, pizza pan, muffin pan, cake pans, roaster, casserole, pots, pans, popcorn popper, bread machine, food processor. If you are planning a special meal, we can send an inventory so you know what (if anything) you need to bring.

Use the dock for your boat, or to launch your canoe. We provide 2 kayaks, and life vests. There is a fenced dog run and upper lot where you can play croquet, volleyball, or toss a football. Secure storage is available for your bikes or other gear. A public boat launch is less than a mile away.

The house is all yours! We have prepared extensive instructions and a kitchen map, but are happy to answer any questions during your stay by text, phone, or email.

This home is close to the beaches of Lincoln city, and is on the less populated East Side of Devils Lake for sunset views. Devils lake is much warmer than the Pacific, and is popular for swimming, canoeing/kayaking/SUP, boating, fishing, waterskiing, wakeboarding and wave running. The lake effect gives us sun even when the beach or the valley is fogged in! Most coastal attractions are an easy day trip from this location.

Birds abound here in all seasons. In summer, you'll see hummingbirds, osprey, swallows, egrets, herons, kingfishers, and other water birds. In winter, there are eagles, owls, blackbirds, mergansers, grebes and ducks. Rare visitors may make an appearance, such as pileated woodpecker, or the northern spotted owl.

The Siuslaw National Forest is just uphill from our home, with old logging roads now trails that can be explored on foot or mountain bike. The forest is home to all kinds of creatures, deer, elk, owls, black bear, cougar, and coyotes. Bring a map if you explore this remote woods and keep in mind that the wildlife may venture down the mountain, so keep an eye on the little ones and pets.

There is private parking here for 4 cars in our turnaround. Public transit for Lincoln county is about 2 miles away. Taxicabs in Lincoln City typically go anywhere local for $10. Airport shuttle from PDX once a day, around $40/person. "Like" our (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) page to see posts about activities in the area, or to post pictures of your trip. Summer we have a 3 day minimum stay, and Memorial Day, Labor day, and Fourth of July have longer minimum stays.

We love Oregon! We found an amazing "super 70s" custom home, restored, preserved, designed and curated the interior to create our dream home and share it with others. It is our love letter to the 1970s slow pace with water, sun, fun, and long conversations by the fire--the perfect place to build your memories with family and friends.

It doesn't get closer to the water! Our home was custom built in 1973, designed to maximize beautiful views of water from nearly every room. We restored the home with an eye to preserving the home's vintage charm and architecture. The dock and lake access allow swimming, paddling, boating, or simply play. Birds abound here, and your dogs can take a dip in the lake or exercise in our large, shady dog run. The kitchen has space for multiple cooks, and the whole family can sit down and eat together. High quality mattresses, linens, and seating are found throughout the home.

We selected Devils lake because it has all the benefits of the Oregon Coast with a warmer, sunnier, lakefront space for play. This home is so close to the water, you'll see lake from nearly every room. The great room is so spacious it is hard to capture in pictures. 12 guests can stay without feeling crowded--the whole family can be together, or you can retreat to many different areas.
