Very relaxing couple of days. Rain and cool weather canceled our tubing plans, so we just spent a couple of days enjoying the creek and playing games. It's close enough to town to get walmart delivery, so we stayed in the whole time.
We enjoy our stay visiting local attractions and VA Tech with our sons during Spring Break. It’s located along a lovely creek. We enjoyed camp fires and a refreshing dip in the creek. Would enjoying staying there again.

Thank you Bryson for the review. We are very happy to know that you enjoyed your stay! Please do come back!
This is a cozy, comfortable, peaceful place to stay! We LOVED the front porch next to Sinking Creek! Spent a lot of time listening to the many birds (20 species we identified!) , the babbling creek, & frogs at night. Very bucolic! The property is well-maintained & very cute inside. Clean. Hosts were helpful & responsive when we had problems unlocking the door. He drove over to help. Thank you. We are wondering if the wine cork screw was taken from the kitchen, or we couldn't find it. We got creative using a nail & kitchen utensils. lol. Also, would love to know the history of the place. Thank you so much for providing a wonderful place for us to celebrate our son's VT graduation. We will be back!

Thank you for the detailed review about your stay. I was pleasantly surprised to know that we have so many species of birds here. I applaud your creativity in opening a wine bottle that way, I will definitely have to find the cork screw or replace it😂 . The old furnace was used in the Civil War to make ammunition. We can try to gather more information on that, thank you for inquiring about it.
Great stay! So honored to be the second guests! This place is adorable. Very well done. Stayed here with my husband and three teenagers. Came to enjoy a VT football game and to bring our freshman daughter home for Thanksgiving. We were all very comfortable and happy. The location is beautiful and peaceful. The primary bed downstairs is sooooooo comfortable! Didn’t want to get up in the morning, haha. We cooked some yummy breakfasts and the kitchen had everything we needed. You will not regret staying here. The host was very attentive and reached out before our stay to see if there was anything in particular we might need. We felt well cared for indeed.

Thank you Priscilla for such a detailed review. We are very excited that you guys enjoyed your stay. Hope to host you again!
Everything was perfect. This is a relaxing get away from the city, but it's not too far out. The firepit by the creek is wonderful and the wood stove is a delight. I didn't actually use the stove this time, afraid it would get too hot, but it is cozy with the rocking chair beside it. Enjoyed the coffee bar. I will be sure to bring more bottled water and some of my fav kpods next time. I am a coffee drinker and I did go thru some coffee with honey the host provided. Delicious. The heater in the bathroom is awesome. It could serve as a hair dryer in a pinch. The hot water takes a minute or so to heat up but the shower is huge, plenty of room for two. Just saying... There is a washing machine and dryer, ironing board/iron. The front porch could not be any more nostalgic. The wifi worked great. This house had plenty of sleeping space. A family with 5 children would have plenty of room. Beds were comfy. If you have a fav pillow or blanket, bring it. I had no compaints. I would say if you arrive after dark, once u get on Old Furnace Rd, it is going to be the first driveway that you see the bridge, on your right, go across the bridge and then go to your right. It does get pitch dark out there & was a little hard to see coming in. I enjoyed my stay and didnt want to leave. I hope to stay again soon! Grateful first guest!! Thanks! *There may be a glitch in this review bc the system is not letting me select anything on value for money, but I also rate this 5 stars.
