Great place for a family stay
Very clean with updated amenities and comfortable beds.
Great location, right on the beach, on a quiet cul-de-sac street.
Convenient to shopping and restaurants.
Will definitely return.
We loved our stay and location was amazing. House is a little dated but it was very accommodating for our big family. We’d love to stay again in the future!

Houston Review
Loved the view from porch and the fireworks on the fourth of July. Our neighbors were trying to outdo each other. Oh, almost forgot…..the kitchen needs more silverware. Our grandchildren loved the two puzzles. They almost finished the second one so left it for the next renters to finish. Hope that was okay??!! The rental service was fantastic and brought us more towels and chairs. The WiFi was very inefficient at times. We enjoyed meeting the owner and his parents. Those brownies were the best ever!!
House is great. But there were two toilets that did not work. Would stay there again but please fix toilets

Think twice
We have checked out of Kellum Cottage and we are very disappointed with this property....The first thing is The carpet is FILTHY and the living room furniture is disgustingly FILTHY....you can visibly see how FILTHY the furniture is ...we took sheets off the bed to cover the furniture with to keep fromm having the heebie jeezies while sitting on it....there are roaches EVERYWHERE and I know about bugs on the island we stay there often but have NEVER seen this ...the rockers on the porch are falling apart arms rocker base and back of seat legs...the house has a grungy feeling as soon as you walk in 🤦♀️....this was our 30th wedding anniversary and I wanted everything to be so nice but it wasnt

Comfortable Older Home
This home is in a great location, a quiet part of Atlantic Beach close to Ft. Macon. It is especially nice that 3 BR, 2 baths, the kitchen and living area are all on the main floor. The best thing about it is the covered porch with rockers! Many things about the house have been updated since we stayed in it 15 years ago, but there is still a lot that needs to be done to make it five stars. Except for the living room, the furniture is largely the same, old, well-used, and some of it falling apart. One dining room chair was downright dangerous and several porch rockers have arms coming off. Two of the beds have headboards not tightly attached so they rock and bang against the wall every time you move. We had a disabled member of our party and many things were difficult for him: nothing to hold onto getting into and out of showers, nothing near the shower to hang a towel on (hooks on the bathroom doors would be very helpful). There is a large dune between the house and the ocean which cuts off some of the view and is difficult climbing for older people, impossible for someone disabled. Utensils in the kitchen need replacing. Washer broke first day we were there and could not be fixed. All minor things which could easily be fixed and make this a very fine place to stay. Also, someone needs to tell you when you check in that there is a separate thermostat for the downstairs area. It is not in the hallway where you would expect it to be but is sort of hidden behind a bedroom door and our downstairs guests suffered with heat and humidity through the week without knowing they could do anything about it.
