About this property
Sunrise Cabin - Super Clean & Solar-powered
This newly constructed 850 sq ft cabin features a wall of windows and is located on a 30 acre forest. It is perfect for those seeking a peaceful and cozy space to relax and breathe deeper while experiencing the brilliance of Midcoast Maine. Wake up to the gentle morning sun cresting over the trees, linger at night under the magic and mystery of a star-filled sky, and witness what all four seasons have to offer. Belfast and Unity are close w/ Bangor, Camden, Rockland, & Acadia - easy day trips.
The Space
The cabin is designed to sleep up to 6 people, and has two bedrooms and one bath. One bedroom is furnished with a Queen-size memory foam mattress and the other has a trundle bed with two twin size memory foam mattresses.
The main living space features an incredible view of the forest, a record player and a wood stove (available November-April). The large sectional couch is outfitted with a Queen-size mattress. We provide a well equipped kitchen with two induction burners, a microwave, dishwasher, and an oven.
The bathroom has a full sized bathtub perfect for a long soak. If you prefer showers, the shower head is high and it detaches. The water pressure is great and there is lots of room to move.
There is cell phone service but is hit or miss depending on your carrier. The cabin does not have a tv, but we do have Starlink internet so feel free to bring your devices.
There is also an outdoor smokeless firepit and a covered porch seating area.
Relax and make yourself at home with all the amenities we provide including:
- Coffee
- Tea
- Cream and sugar
- Hot cocoa
- Washer and dryer
- Board games
- Books
- Records
- Soft linens
- Hand-crafted natural soaps and cleaners, and more
Guest Access
The entire cabin and attached porch area are yours. The cabin is one floor living; however, the front door is accessed via six steps outside. If stairs are challenging, there is a gently sloping path from the driveway to the back porch where guests can enter through the kitchen. The front door code will be provided before your stay.
We live in a very private rural neighborhood. Feel free to walk or jog along Valley road, but depending upon time of day, you may want to wear one of the orange vests provided in the mudroom to help with visibility. Parking is easy and right next to cabin. Have more than one car? No problem. Let us know, and we will share where best to park other vehicles. The location of the cabin is the best of both worlds - beautiful, quiet, and serene rural life located super close to grocery stores and restaurants.
Buses, Lyft and Uber are not available for getting to the cabin. Airport distances to the cabin include: Bangor International International (35 min), Portland International (2 hr), and Boston Logan International (3 hr 30 min)
Location
While it's rural, it's also close to everything you want on your adventure to Maine. Examples include:
- Brooks (5 min) - Local food/art at the Marsh River Co-op and Ralph’s Cafe
- Unity (15 min) - Amish goods and Belfast & Moosehead Lake Train Rides
- Belfast (20 min) - Idyllic coastal town with food, coffee shops, and fun year-round activities
- Moose Point State Park (25 min) - Scenic picnic spots, hiking trails, and tidal pools to explore
- Lincolnville Beach (35 min) - Fun in the sun on a sandy beach (a rare treat in Maine)
- Camden (40 min) - Charming town "where the mountains meet the sea"
- Acadia National Park (1 hr 20 min) - Where wild adventure and stunning, iconic Maine views await
Other Things to Note
While you get the entire house to yourself, we live on property 60 feet away in our tiny home. If you are looking for a secluded cabin in the middle of the forest, this is not it. If you feel called to be a part of creative, loving community, we can’t wait to host you. You will see us around the property developing our permaculture gardens, building our forest paths, feeding our compost pile, and constructing our next guest accommodation - a cozy glamping cabin in the middle of the forest. When you see us, say hi if you want. We truly love connecting with our guests, but we also deeply understand the need for solitude and are happy to embrace and support either. If you need anything, please do not hesitate to ask. We are happy to provide assistance in whatever way we can including suggestions on places to eat, drink, and be merry.
While you stay at our cabin, you will also be experiencing nature in Maine. We hope you will find the peace and connection that come with it, but we can guarantee you will also find bugs (including black flies, mosquitoes, and ticks). We are grateful to the many species who share the land in which these bugs are their food source (including dragonflies, birds, and bats), but we also provide bug spray and Thermocell to assist with your health and comfort. Of course, winter is always a great time to visit if you want no bugs.
If all this sounds good, add this cabin to your saved list or better yet, instant book your stay. We can’t wait to see you.

What makes this property unique
The land itself is expansive and surrounded by trees. It's quiet and it actually gets dark. You can see the stars and feel the earth. It's deeply connective.
Sit around a firepit telling stories underneath a star-filled sky. Wander the generous paths we have carved through the forest. Rock gently in a hammock swing with a cup of coffee or tea in hand surrounded by birdsong. Witness the incredible beauty of the forest ecology.
Begin to deepen your breath. Feel compelled to pause and linger longer, to reconnect and contemplate. Come back home to yourself and become more available for others as a result. This environment offers respite from the hectic modern world. It enables you to hear yourself again. We welcome you with open arms.
