About Lee Melville
Brandie was born and raised in Hawaii and has lots of family on Oahu. Lee is from New Zealand so also part of the polynesian culture. We are raising our family in Southern California and visit Hawaii regularly for that much needed escape to paradise!
Lee Melville purchased this Condo in 2013
Why Lee Melville chose Waikiki
With family in Hawaii tourism, we knew the Waikiki Banyan is simply the best. We use this property as our vacation home, so we wanted a great location that we could share with others.
What makes this Condo unique
The Waikiki Banyan has a fantastic recreation deck plus other conveniences. It's a short stroll from the beach with plenty of local attractions.

Lee and his family were most accommodating. The location was absolutely perfect. The beach toys grea
Very comfortable, breezy, and colourful. Proximity to the beach was unsurpassed. Beach chairs and umbrella were in constant use, thanks. Lee and Brandie’s suggestions for things to do was spot on. We couldn’t have enjoyed it more. Mahalo.
Slice of heaven
Great location. Only 2 blocks from the beach, shops, restaurants. Many beach items to make the stay better. Pullout couch bed is a little soft and living space furniture is dated.
It was a pleasure to have you as our guest Gary. We are so happy you enjoyed the location and were able to make use of the beach items stocked in our condo. The living room furniture including the sofa bed is brand new. We opted for a Hawaiian themed furniture set to provide an aloha experience for our guests.
Great home base.
This suite has everything you need to enjoy your holiday.
Awesome. Stayed here before, new updates are amazing.
Great location for exploring the island
Unit exactly as shown/described. Perfect for exploring the island. Beach chairs were high quality, appeared the shade was as well, just didn’t have a need to use it. Cooler was helpful but small. Didn’t use anything else.
Bed was sufficient, with many different options for pillows. Bed did not have a fitted sheet, which was a little weird, but assume that is on the cleaning company.
Generalized issue for most Hawaii rentals...cleaning companies appear to take home what others leave behind. Rented through HomeAway, always expecting it to be a home away from home. Most rentals on the main land not as bad, but I tend to keep more than salt and pepper and 2 packets of sugar/2 coffee filters in my home. So be prepared to bring everything you need to cook. There was olive oil. I left some sugar for the next folks.
Overall, it was a great place. Corner unit makes it extra nice IMO. Hope to stay again in the future.
Wonderful stay, not long enough
Very clean and well appointed. Would have loved it more if the beds were a little more comfortable. Maybe some memory foam on the bed would be perfect. The kitchen had all the tools needed to make our breakfast each morning. The blender did a great job with our cocktails at night. The host was very helpful and made great suggestions. We would return again.
We appreciate your positive comments and would love to have you as our guest again. We are glad you were able to enjoy all our kitchen had to offer! Thank you for your suggestion to improve the comfort of our beds. We will definitely look into options like the memory foam. Mahalo!
Waikiki is most famous for its beaches - the calm waters of Waikiki are perfect for a surfing lesson. But there’s more to Waikiki than just the beach. Attractions of Waikiki like the Honolulu Zoo and the Waikiki Aquarium offer fun for the whole family. Among the various things to do, fantastic shopping and dining can be found all along Kalakaua and Kuhio Avenues and at gathering places like the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center and the Waikiki Beach Walk.
Best of all, Waikiki is within a half hour of a variety of Oahu attractions, including Pearl Harbor, Iolani Palace, the Nuuanu Pali Lookout and Hanauma Bay. Other notable points of interest nearby include Ala Moana Center, the local neighborhood of Kapahulu and the arts district of Chinatown.
