Property was exactly as described. Nice, cosy private retreat! Kristen was a wonderful host and communication with her was excellent. Would recommend this property if you want a nice getaway. John & Jennelle / Minnesota.
The cabin is truly off the grid (it had power and water etc.) but I mean about 2 miles of dirt road off the grid. So if you want to be in a quiet secluded area that was peaceful and full of trees and animals this place is great. We also enjoyed the fact that the host was very artistic which shows in her decor of artwork on the walls and in the remarkable artistic craftsmanship of the cabin. And its was very quiet and peaceful near a very busy bustling area...great base camp to check out the badlands from. I'd stay again.

Thank you Dave, we are so pleased you enjoyed your trip! Come stay again anytime. Thanks for leaving everything so nice!
What and amazing get-away cabin! It is several miles off the main road, quiet location on a hill, with such a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. The host was amazing! She was quick to answer questions and make sure we had everything we needed. It was everything we were hoping for! If you are looking for a place that is centrally located, right outside of Hill City, where you can enjoy the area but still enjoy the quiet of the mountain... THIS is your place! It is worth every penny!

Thank you Kari, you are a delight and we hope you return!
Perfect for a quiet retreat from the world! Beautiful scenery, rustic, sturdy cabin with many creative touches throughout, and a very comfortable King bed.The host was very good at communicating, the property was easy to find, and it was definitely one of our favorites.Would absolutely recommend!!
If you want peace and quiet and isolation from the world, this is your place. Situated right in the black hills you have access not only to the properties 20 acres, but the entire black hills national forest that adjoins the property. There are no other cabins on the property meaning no neighbors. You likely won’t see another human while there. If you enjoy hiking, this place is for you. There are no trails, just hiking through the wilderness. The cabin itself is small. It’s really meant for no more than two people. With just one king size bed in the loft. There is no AC, but it’s not needed at that altitude, even in July. In fact I used the wood burning stove to warm the cabin in the mornings. Though it does have electric heat. There is no stove or oven, so come prepared with appropriate food. There is a toaster oven and microwave. There is no TV or radio, but there is internet access through starlink. The owner, Kristen, was very responsive and quickly replied to questions. She lives on the property about a quarter mile away which is nice if anything is needed. The only issue I had was in finding the cabin. Be aware that the address listed is for HER house. NOT the cabin. You need to turn left on the cabin driveway by the late bear statue, a couple hundred yards prior to her house. It’s easy to miss. Overall this was a 5 star experience and exactly what I was looking for. I highly recommend and would definitely come back.
