About this property

Little Red Cottage is a masterfully designed tiny home ideally located in the heart of the island, minutes from shops, restaurants & the beach. Prepare breakfast in a sunlit kitchen & dine at the window bar overlooking peaceful, lush gardens. Re-energize yourself after exploring the island by taking a nap on the window seat or bask in the sun on the private deck with a good book & a cup of coffee. Cook out on the grill as the sun sets, finishing the night under the stars next to a roaring fire.
The space
We wanted to keep the environment in mind when creating the Little Red Cottage so we have used repurposed building materials and furniture throughout the cottage as well as installing a top-of-the-line Swedish composting toilet. Though just 400 sq. ft, the spacious feel will wow you: it has a well-equipped kitchen with coffee (from our local roasterie) and tea provided so that you can enjoy a lovely cup at home. There is also a refrigerator, freezer, stove-top and microwave enabling you to prepare some meals in. In case you would like to dine out we have provided a list of restaurants and coffee shops for you to experience here on the island. Warm yourself by the gas fireplace as you watch your favorite shows on the smart tv, or let your writing juices be inspired at the antique writing desk looking over the beauty and serenity of the garden. Also we have provided a high quality mattress, fine linens and your choice of pillows hoping that you can come and rest well while you stay with us. We hope you enjoy our yard while you sit at your cafe table and chairs out on the private deck or by enjoying the hammock in the orchard.

Cute and Efficient Cottage

The Little Red Cottage is a very cute tiny. It is well-equipped and nicely decorated with bright colors. We were there in the winter so we didn't get to see the trees and flowers in bloom, but the yard was well-cared-for and would certainly be beautiful Spring through Fall. I loved the selection of reading material that was available in the cottage. It was clear that the cottage is a project the hosts are committed to. There were many touches of their love of hospitality throughout the home.

Adorable little cottage

This little house was truly amazing and tasteful decorated. The grounds of the property were absolutely beautiful. And Mia of course, was the sweetest addition to our stay. 😊 Thank you for a memorable and relaxing visit!

Cheerful clean house

Tiny bright clean house had everything we needed. Bed was very comfortable. Beautiful property and friendly dog. Night-wakers should be aware that the bedroom is upstairs and bathroom downstairs.

Lovely cottage

We had a wonderful time. The cottage is so cozy and had everything we needed! I especially loved the slippers and the coffee!!! It was quiet at night and the bed was so comfortable!! I would definitely recommend this cottage!

I'm an island girl, born and raised on Vashon. I moved to Nepal with my husband Jeff back in 1990 and we raised our 3 sons in that beautiful country. I had he privilege to work at an international school in Kathmandu as a teacher and then vice principal. We moved back to Vashon in 2015. We love being back "home" on the island reveling in a land of water, greeen, and mountains. I feel incredibly blessed for all that the Creator God has given me in my life.
