The Space:

Recently remodeled with redwood and fir accents, the Mendocino Redwood Retreat - Sunrise Cottage offers an idyllic getaway in Little River, just 10 minutes from the quaint coastal town of Mendocino. The property’s serene location places you close to nature, with hiking trails leading to the Albion River. World-class beaches and parks are five to ten minutes away, including Van Damme State Park, Big River Beach, and Mendocino Headlands State Park.



Get comfortable quickly amidst the cottage’s warm wood finishes, soft linens, and thoughtful two-story layout. The cottage features an open-concept, loft-style bedroom located on the upper level, furnished with a double bed and a full bathroom.



Please note that the bedroom is not fully enclosed and is open to the main living space below via a staircase. The upper level also includes a small kitchenette, dining area and seating space. The first floor features a game lounge along with internet access to support work or relaxation throughout your stay.



Outside, the gorgeous private deck with a wood-burning stove overlooks ridgetop and redwood views, offering the perfect space to warm up and dine alfresco. On clear nights, you’ll be treated to a full sky of stars and the gentle sound of ocean waves in the distance. This is a special place you may find hard to leave.



The Sunrise Cottage is located on a shared property with Mendocino Redwood Retreat – Vista House, which can be rented separately. Outdoor common areas are shared, but each home has its own dedicated deck and assigned parking. If both homes are available, they may be rented together as Mendocino Redwood Retreat – Vista House & Sunrise Cottage.



Things to Know

All guests must abide by the good neighbor policy and refrain from illegal activity. Quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.

No smoking is permitted anywhere on the premises.

This property is not equipped with air conditioning.

This home shares the property with another vacation rental; please keep this in mind when booking.

The bedroom is located on the upper level and is part of an open, two-story layout.

Check-in Form: To ensure a smooth and secure stay for all guests, we kindly require completion of our short check-in form after booking. This includes signing our standard rental agreement and verifying guest and payment information. It only takes a few minutes and helps us prepare the home for your arrival.



We prioritize a safe environment for our guests. To monitor arrivals and vehicle safety, we have two exterior security cameras: one on the main home's roof facing the cottage entrance and driveway, and another at the front gate near the EV charger facing the main house entry. Both are strictly outdoor-facing; we value your privacy and have no indoor surveillance of any kind.
