Easy walk to pool and beach. Location was great too

The master bedroom bed was comfy. But the other beds in the other room my family complained feeling springs from the mattress. Maybe put pads on them. I would stay there again.

We had a great time!

While parts of the condo were a little outdated and slightly dirty, my travel group had a great stay. It was practically right on the beach and it came with appliances and everything needed for meals in the kitchen. The only thing that would have been nice is to have chairs/beach supplies along with the condo, so if you are staying here be sure to bring your own! Overall though we would all stay here again.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Ground floor unit was very convenient to beach with children. Very little privacy since the patio is directly at the pool. It was so convenient that we didnt mind! Close to lots of restaurants, an awesome arcade and Walmart! Condo needs to be deep cleaned. Overall, we had an excellent stay. Will definitely stay here again!!

Great location

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Convenient location, condo very roomy, but it needs serious updating and repairs: the decor was horrific, the glass dining table not steady at all, the glass coffee table had a chunk of glass missing in the corner; one of the dining chair's legs was barely holding on, the master bath pocket door to the dressing area was missing and the shower and toilet were very close and in a small area, the floors were dirty my granddaughter's feet were black from walking around in her walker. The positive was very convenient to the beach and to unload your car, the pool area was kept nice, the mattresses were nice and it was very roomy.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo is in a good location and I liked that it is first floor since we had kiddos. Could definitely use some updating of furnishings and the tv in the main bedroom is an old box style tv. There was some mold around the main bathroom air vent. There was also construction going on where they were taking the stucco off the entire side of the building so it was very loud starting at like 7am every morning. Probably would not stay here again.

worst experience

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: WE WERE VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!Had I known the building was under construction I would have reconsidered my stay there. I was never made aware there would be construction going on there. NO ONE WANTS TO RENT A CONDO THAT IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION WHILE TRYING TO ENJOY A VACATION BREAK. We could not enjoy the patio near the poolside due to all the Hispanic works literally congregating around that area. They had plastic paper covering the tables on the patio when we arrived there. There were no signs for wet paint while unloading our things into the unit I accidentally leaned on the wall next to the door of the unit and got blue paint all over my arm. We had to keep the curtains closed the whole time. The only day we had a break from dealing with them was on Sunday. The pool had foam insulation floating in it from the construction workers and there was a oily film in the pool water. When we arrived to unload our things. Housekeeping left a swimsuit top on one of the bedroom doors. And the unit was full of fruit flies the whole time we were there. On our last night there as we were walking out to start loading up things to get ahead of ourselves we opened the door to the OWNERS with their keys trying to get in because they were told the unit was available. How can you get those dates messed up to renters?? What if it wasn't the owners trying to get in?? What if it was the next renters who would have had no other place to go?? I know I couldn't have afforded to rent something for one night down there at a decent price. Lesson well learned!!!!

We were not notified the owners planned to arrive, so the owners were not told it was available by the rental company at all. We went back and verified this with the owners. It was an unfortunate mistake that we hated hearing happened to our renters. We had no idea the building was under construction and we are sorry the renter was put out by the Hispanic workers taking breaks from work. The HOAs of buildings sometimes do not relay information to rental companies about construction start dates. Had we been informed of consruction, this condo would've never been available to rent. -Gulf Shores Rentals

Having the pool outside our patio was not an issue. The doors leading to our patio opened wide when we wanted to take it in, and offered a reflective layer of privacy when we wanted to close them. We had a maintenance challenge while there and they were swift to respond and correct it without affecting our trip. The kitchen was well stocked and we made good use of the blender. If we could wave a magic wand, we would have added a mirror in the 3rd bedroom, and some extra rolls of toilet paper. I ended up buying a pack and leaving some for the next visitors. We also took advantage of the Stay and Play package and took in a Dolphin tour at sunset on our last day- highly recommend.

Beach Vacation

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This unit was very dated. Faucets in the kitchen and bathrooms did not operate properly, hard to turn off water. Kitchen was not well stocked. All dishes were glass, which were not user friendly. There were not enough coffee cups and the ones there were small. Oven door slammed when using if not very very careful. Small flying bugs in the unit. Living room and dining table are glass. These are not user friendly with children. There was a corner of the coffee table with a large chip missing. All drapery is heavy and appear old. There are three table and chair sets on the patio. It is crowded. The set of white chairs are all broken. One of the tall tables is not sturdy. Cushion stay wet on another set due to the weather. The unit was moderately clean. If this unit was painted, refurbished and restocked it would be very nice. Also note that the outside of the building is being refurbished/painted. Debris was scattered around and in the pool. Could be noisy. The pool area was nice. Location at the beach was great. The keys must be picked up at management office which was a surprise. For the past 5 or so years our vacation rentals has been keyless with the parking passes left in the unit. This was the worst unit we have ever rented. Definitely not worth the money we paid to rent.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Loved the location with easy access to the beach. The condo was very spacious, However it could use some updating. There weren't any shelves in Refridgerator, it's not level which does not allow the door to not stay open. Fans full of dust, dining chair leg broken. Broken fence around the pool pump. All the doors around the units are rusty. It's a nice place, just need some TLC.

However, we did experience one inconvenience unrelated to any weather damage...two shelves in the refrigerator are broken. Good thing we are great “stackers” and nothing fell out on us when we opened the door. Lol

DO NOT STAY HERE!

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: If you are between the age of 18-35 and want to have fun DO NOT STAY HERE. You are not allowed to play any form of music without someone complaining or calling security. We were yelled at by guests and one security guard who then made a very rude comment after I said I would be calling to get my money back. Construction all over the place with no heads up about it. Construction started at 7 in the morning which was extremely loud and woke us up. Our bedroom door didn’t close, they had a wet paint sign on the bedroom door that wouldn’t close, the ceiling inside was falling apart and pieces were actually falling on the ground. Sink barely drained, our code to the beach access didn’t work and neither did most people. Horrible experience.
Response from VrboOwner on 11 May 2022
We only have one condo there so unfortunately we have no control over other guests and the security. There are times when the HOA decides to do construction on the building and we are not aware of it. We do not have record of your maintenance issues being called into our office. We could have sent a maintenance technician out had we known the problems you were experiencing. Your maintenance issues will be passed along to that department to be corrected. Great location but room was not as nice as what we paid for

Happy with location. Check in and check out process was easy. Easy beach access and pool was decent. But was not aware of construction happening on the whole property. And last day had men working outside of our balcony so zero privacy! The room was clean but not deep cleaned. There was unpainted walls and looked like somebody punch the door to our room. So was a little disappointed honestly.

Condo in Terrible and Unsafe Condition

The minute I pulled into the parking lot and saw the construction scaffolding, I knew there would be problems. There was plastic over the windows and "danger" signs on the scaffolding. The entryway was dark. The floors were filthy (not just sand, but dirt -- the bottoms of our feet were black in minutes) and I was later told by a maintenance worker that "we just can't get good housekeeping". We ended up having to purchase a wet mop and clean the floors ourselves. There were exposed electrical outlets (no cover) on a wall that was only partially painted. The sliding door to the patio was almost impossible to open. When sliding the curtain to access the patio door, the curtain rod separated in two places and fell. The recessed kitchen lights didn't work unless you toggled the switch until they quit blinking. The ceiling fans were caked with dust. The shower curtains were mildewed and the light in the master bath was so dim you could barely see to shower. There was no receptacle outside to put the trash, so you had to walk through the construction area to put it in their dumpster. The glass top tables were not safe for children. There was a hole in the master bedroom door. The pocket door to the master bath didn't work right and the door to the vanity area there was missing completely. There appeared to be a queen sized box spring under the king mattress because the sides kept bending over when you sat on the edge of the bed and sleeping was uncomfortable. We killed two cockroaches while we were there. The TV in one of the bedrooms didn't work. The buttons on the coffee pot were so worn you couldn't see how to operate it. The code to the beach access was wrong on the key packet and we had to ask other residents the code. The good things were the easy access to the beach, the towels and linens were clean and the kitchen was clean. The pool was clean too. The furniture was worn but comfortable. This place was obviously not ready for rent, especially for the price we paid. Parking is horrible as you only get two parking passes for a unit that advertises sleeping 8. There was no information from management about where and how to park a third vehicle. No public parking places we could find allowed overnight parking. Our third vehicle ended up getting towed from the Wal Mart parking lot and he had to pay over $250 to get it out of impound. All in all a really bad experience, especially with three young children.

Miscommunication at its finest

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: There was so much construction going on including half the sheet rock missing in the hallway of our rental. I understand that the area is trying to rebuild after all of Mother Nature’s events but we should be made aware that people need to come into the rental. I spoke with the project manager of the construction and he said the rental company knew. The rental company said no one told them and the maintenance man for the rental company knew they were fixing the sheet rock. I just wish everyone was on the same page.
Response from VrboOwner on 24 June 2021
We are so sorry someone came to repair the wall while you were there. Whoever told you that we knew they were coming into your unit was not being honest. We are assuming it was a face to face conversation it was easiest for him in the moment to blame us. We call our guests immediately if anyone is coming into the unit. We are supposed to be told of anything the HOA is needing to do in a unit. We agree with your last sentence for sure. It would make the rental industry run a lot smoother if everyone would keep rental agencies in the loop on the units they manage.

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The rental was clean and functional. Although there were many cosmetic problems with the rental. I listed them on the app in the message but never got any reply. There was construction on going and I felt we should have been made aware of that before we booked. the access to the loading area was blocked off and parking was very limited. THe shower curtains were molding at the top, the rods were worn and should be replaced, one door was missing from the MBR to the bath, the door to the MBR from the dinning area had a busted place in it, the door to the patio drug and was very hard to slide back and close, the curtain rod over the patio door was hanging by one screw, the front door knob was lose and hanging. We had problems connecting to the wifi and again I used the app and asked for help, never heard anything. I contacted the provider and was able to get one device connected but could not connect any others. The access codes for the security gate to the beach that was given to us was not correct. We got the code from other guest. The door from the beach into the building was missing. On our last day there we returned to the unit to find it had been opened and tape on the door saying they had started repairs. There was no evidence of work and fortunately non of our possession were missing. Other than that it was a wonderful little condo.

Construction was not going on when you booked this unit. If you refer to the e-mail we sent you below, we did reach out as soon as we found out it would be going on. We even refunded you a night which was several hundred dollars. Below is my e-mail to you so anyone reading this review can see we do as much as we can to rectify inconveniences beyond our control. We address any and all Fix It Forms, maintenance issues, and housekeeping issues. We have no record of anything from you. We also answer every phone call to our office and even have an after hours answering service. "Hello! We have been informed by the HOA of Romar T1D that there is a piece of sheetrock missing from the hallway. We thought this would be resolved before your stay. We have enclosed a photo so we can be as transparent as possible of the condition of the property. If you choose to still reside in this property, we would like to refund you one night of your stay back to the card on file as a professional courtesy. We realize this is not an ideal situation for the condo, but this has been completely out of our control and we have nowhere to move you. Please accept our sincere apology.
