About this property

Serene Sandlake Bayfront Home with WiFi & Private Hot Tub - Dogs Welcome

Summary:

The Whalen House

The Space:

Savor the tranquility of the Oregon Coast and let stress melt away in the private hot tub when you stay at this bayfront home for 10 (and two dogs!).

Placed right in between Tierra Del Mar and Cloverdale, this charming home is a great destination for your family or friends. Spend time relaxing around the house, walking out the back door to beautiful Sand Lake, or even driving to nearby cities for shopping and dining.

Kick your feet up in the living room while warming yourself by the fire and reading a book, or settle into the window seat in the family room to lounge and watch a movie on the TV (cable and a DVD player are attached).

The kitchen has everything (major and small appliances) you'll need to keep everyone happy and full. After a delicious home-cooked meal, play board games across either of the dining room tables, then head outside to watch the sunset and soak in the hot tub while the kids and dogs run and play. Please note that there is a nightly fee, and the dogs must stay downstairs.

When night falls, retreat to any of the four bedrooms for a good night's rest. All 10 guests will have a place to sleep as this home has a king-size bed, three queens, one twin, one futon, and one sofabed available.

Two full bathrooms, a laundry room, and in-home WiFi complete the amazing list of amenities here.

Stroll through quaint Tierra Del Mar after a morning walk or jog on the beach. Rent or bring kayaks and paddleboards to explore the coast by water. Sand Lake is great for more than just water activities, though. Large sand dunes surround the lake and are the perfect landscape for ATV and dune buggy riding.

If you're looking to explore a bigger city, Pacific City is five miles south for horseback riding, shopping, and dining. And don't miss stopping by Cape Kiwanda on the way there or back to hike around and snap some amazing photos.

Casual and comfortable, this Tierra Del Mar home is a wonderful spot for your next Oregon Coast getaway.

Family trip

We have stayed here 3 times and it has been amazing each time. The house has lots of space to spread out and the yard is a perfect place for our kids and dogs. The location is close to town but it also feels very secluded. We can’t wait to come back.

Relaxing getaway

The Whalen property was perfect for what we needed. Spacious home with different gathering areas, a well-stocked kitchen, and a pleasant backyard provided a nice vacation home. The hit tub was s bonus.

Nicely located home in which to spread out & come together. We will definitely stay here again!

We enjoyed a wonderful New Year’s weekend at this home and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Plenty of space to spread out and relax, or come together for meals & games & conversation. Nicely located within view and walking distance of Sand Lake. Our family had a great time! Thank you.

Disliked: Communication
The parking is very tight says spot s probably if they are small cars we had 3 crewcab trucks and 1 suburban made it work by parking in the grass and 1 truck sideways blocking entire driveway entrance at the street literally almost on the street. The house was decent definitely showing signs of ware i personally won't ever stay here again because it doesn't meet our parking needs and for the money we paid we probably could've done much better

Delightful

Four of us ladies and one corgi pup had a great time at Whalen House. Lots of room to roam around inside and out. The view of the bay was entertaining with the wildlife. We had rainy weather, but it didn't mess with our fun at all.

Beach Getaway

Our family came to the beach for a getaway. The house is big and roomy. There was a lot of space and and it was a comfortable place to be hidden away from the stormy weather outside. The kitchen is well equipped and the hot tub is very nice too. The house is on Sandlake Rd, which is a busy road, but the noise did not bother us.

Quaint coastal home

Loved the house and the location. Tons of space for our large group. Loved all the separate spaces for the times people wanted some down time. Only complaint was the septic system was very touchy and by the last day we only had one working toilet. When the owners get this fixed the house was great. It was a little hard to find when we arrived the first night.

Amazing place and great for dogs!

We had an amazing time at the house. The yard is fully fenced and Lots of space for dogs to explore. The backyard is so cool with a stream running through it. Just a few logistical issues the a jammed lockbox and no dish soap. Minor problems.

Beautiful yard and big home

Appreciated all the separate rooms for beds and lush gardens. The sheets were a little scratchy, not too soft. The house smelled very musty and wasn’t scrubbed clean very well. However it was spacious and really enjoyed there large windows.

Fun house for a large family with kids.

Cute house overlooking the bay. Our 6 kids (teens and tweens) loved the creek running through the yard and rope swing. We all loved the hot tub and the close proximity to Cape Kiwanda (south) and Cape Lookout and Cape Meares (north). We brought our two dogs (note the fenced in yard does have a couple holes that dogs can get out of, and the traffic in the front is dangerous.) Had a couple fires in the fire pit outside at night. Plenty of room to spread out for everyone.

Good for a family group

Second stay for us here. A comfortable place, until bedtime. One queen bed too hard, one king bed too soft. Door to front garden hard to open/close, door from entry needs a retro fit and handle came off, bathroom door in master virtually impossible to open/close and someone kicked it in. Pots and pans need a review. Love the grounds and garden.
