Relaxing get-away with great views

The condo is nicely situated with beach views that you can only get on LBK. The kitchen is well equipped, the beds are comfortable, and the amenities provide everything you’ll need.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Lovely condo with so many nice features. The view is incredible from your personal, large patio with seating for six. Pros: -Bed setup for 5 to sleep in bedrooms (great for families with 3 kids)-2 full bathrooms -Plenty of kitchen, dining and living space with seating for everyone-Nicely stocked kitchen-Location is minutes from groceries, restaurants, Anna Maria Island, Lido Key, and more. -Beach umbrellas and a handful of beach toys (more usually available near the beach entrance)-Pool was nice, with a few shady spots to sit and plenty of toys and floats-Beach was beautiful and clean (you do need to drag your own chairs and set your own umbrellas)Cons (minor):-Pans could use an update, the non-stick surface is scratched and worn-Primary bedroom mattress is hard and squeaks and squawks just to get into and out of bed

Great place & location

We had a great time at Longboat Key. This property was extremely clean and as listing and very nicely decorated and comfy furniture. Loved having beach towel , beach chairs & even a cooler, the view was amazing and we enjoyed the sunset every night on the deck. My only suggestion is to have (4) high chairs for the deck table, there was only 3 but 4 of us. Highly recommend!

Beachside Comfort

We had a wonderful time at Sand Cay. Beautiful view from our balcony, just steps from beachfront, nice pool, plenty of lounge chairs. Everything was comfortable and clean. Condo decor a bit dated, but who cares? Office staff was very helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend this unit!

Beautiful view from porch.

Beach is beautiful, plenty of beach chairs. Condo is nicely decorated !! If I could offer improvement, I'd ask owner to add another one of the high seating chairs on the porch vs only having 3. This way 2 couples can easily sit and chat and watch the beautiful sunset!

Our Fall Getaway

The photos of the condo and property were exactly how everything looked - very clean and well kept. The leather furniture in the living room was unexpected in a rental and in very nice condition. The bathrooms are small so we used one each which worked well for us. There was an oscillating fan in the closet as well as stools and sand toys. We're considering coming back - we enjoyed it so much.

Reviewer Comments: Rental experiece was good overall, Had an issue with shower door shattering and the emergency number I call did not respond to me. Everyone did a great job of cleaning it up the next day and it was well taken care of. Just really glad we had 2 bathrooms.

Reviewer Comments: Our 1st time at Sand Cay, use to rent for the past 12 years as Casa del Mar (along the beach) but Sand cay was much better with all the same facilities but much nicer staff. Just 1 point, with no Netflex or Amazon available, the TV options (using a 20 year old DvD and watching 20+ year old movies (again) must be considered for the future, this will only become a bigger issue.

Annual Vacation to Longboat Key

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed at Sand Cay 4 previous years in June. Rm 319, 218, 217 and this year 219. Rm 219 was prefect. My wife and grandchildren loved the location and view. We will be coming back again next year I’m sure. Only negative I have is the price is going to high per night and it looks like most unit are going to 7 day minimum stay. There should be a price break for 7 day nightly rates. To the staff, keep up the great work maintaining the property.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great stay at 219! The rental was perfect for our family of four and the proximity to the beach / view was great. The home definitely would have warranted 5 stars except for 2 issues that should be resolved for the next guest. When we arrived, two sets of blinds were broken in the living room and couldn’t be pulled up, resulting in a dark living room / no view. Unfortunately they could not be fixed in a timely manner as the 3rd party service provider wasn’t available. So after a day, we ended up just removing them down ourselves. I would note, we also saw a few cockroaches inside unit (common in FL so not a huge surprise) so would encourage the staff to give the property an extra spray

The blinds had just broke before your arrival, and unfortunately we did have to wait for the company to come out to resolve the issue. We have a pest control company that comes out to our property on a regular basis and sprays, but if there is ever a time when you see something in the unit, report it to the office and we will have them come out immediately to resolve the issue! Pretty view...interior needs work

I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First of all, the view is absolutely beautiful!! The AC worked great! The kitchen cabinets were new looking.The condo’s pictures are beautiful but the reality is that this is an older Florida condo that needs some updating. When we arrived, the floors had sand everywhere. We cleaned the condo completely. We had issues with the master bathroom toilet. We did call about it, and on the second person coming, they said it was fixed. The toilet still ran all night long every night. Both bathrooms are extremely small and there is no air vents in either of them. The second bathroom had very old fixtures, and the handheld shower had splits in the plastic, which caused water to shoot out everywhere.The blind to the big picture window was broken upon arrival. We had to end up placing the blind on top of it holder, so we could have the beautiful picture window view. The kitchen sink leaked and the faucets leaked as well in both the kitchen and the bathrooms. They were various places were paint had chipped away, and rather than fixing it and sanding it down they had painted over it.Our last couple of days caused cockroaches to come out. There had been a storm, and this could’ve brought them out. I lived in Florida for many years and grew up there, truly never had this issue. The palm trees were overgrown and hanging in the Porch. This could’ve been part of the reason. With a storm that came in while we were there, the whole facility has water that runs through. You expect to come in from the parking lot and be dry as you walk in but you get very wet as The water drips through the floors.The unit did not have a washer and dryer. You are responsible for your linens, therefore they provide a laundry facility near the office. The air must not have been working in there because it was like a sauna. Most of the dryers do not work very well. The washers worked well, but the dryers required multiple t

Hi Lisa, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us this review! We are glad that you were cool and comfortable during your stay. Your comfort is key while you are here as our guest. When checking in you mentioned that there was a little sand on the floor, and we immediately offered to send housekeeping back to clean it again for you and you unfortunately declined. Maintenance ended up replacing the flush valve on the toilet which resolved the issue. We were unaware that the shower wand was leaking. We will order a new one and replace it asap. As you know, bathroom fixtures, paint color, furniture, etc, are all personal preference, and we are sorry if the décor was not to your liking. We have pictures and virtual tours on our official website, and it is always best to look at the pictures and virtual tours before booking. We have contacted the owner about the blinds, and they are currently working towards getting the parts to fix them. We are glad that you could still enjoy the beautiful view and make it work! We have a great landscape company that is here on our property every week and they trim the palm trees as needed. When checking out, you mentioned that you had seen a few palmetto bugs in your unit after it had rained. You mentioned how you have lived in Florida for many years and understood that the amount of rain that we had unfortunately brings them in. We have not had that much rain in several months and within 24 hours we had between 6 to 8 inches of rain in total. That is a lot for the ground to absorb that fast at one time. Sand Cay has an open feel concept when exiting the units, and that is why our unit doors open to the beautiful decking outside. In the future, all our bottom floor units do have a washer and dryer in them, and the second and third floors do not due to a flood issue, and that is why we provide a free laundry facility for our guests located right by the pool and the office. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Unit 219 has one of the best panoramic views of the gulf from the balcony. Even when the outside temperature is not suitable or too windy for the beach, you are sheltered from north wind. Umbrella base on the balcony is wobbly and you have to keep an eye on it when extended and windy. That said, the unit is not perfect but certainly pleasant enough. Many units at sand cay have a lot of beach accessories in the utility room but this one had only an old umbrella with no sand screw base. Luckily the office had a base that fit the umbrella so we could use. Appliances in kitchen are great. Skillets for breakfast are old and no longer non stick. Bedrooms are odd setup. Main has large queen but sits far off the floor. 2nd BR has a full and single but mattresses seem old and soft. Master bath is small and shower pretty narrow. Internet was good. TV took some work since coffee table had four remotes and batteries were dead on main remote. Staff was terrific. Location on LBK is ideal. We have stayed at SC for many years at various units and if they would improve bedroom setup this one might be a favorite.
