Located beach front on beautiful Longboat Key, this resort offers all the amenities of a large hotel with the privacy and seclusion that has Silver Sands guests returning each year. Amazing location

Absolutely love the heated pool, enclosed porch and access to the beach. The staff was great to work with and the unit was clean and had everything we needed.

Beach was clean and not busy with the pool close by. We have stayed here 2 years in a row and will definitely be going back next year. The landscaping was being redone during our stay from the hurricane damage, and we can’t wait see it finished!

It was great having 2 separate rooms with privacy, as well as 2 separate bathrooms. The scorned in lanai offered a nice place to hang dry clothes and swimsuits, they offer grills, and beach umbrellas, and sand toys. We had no competition for the beach! It was an amazing stay. Our only recommendation would be to have pack n plays or cribs available for Littles. Especially if you have an extended stay. Overall just can't say enough great things, very clean, well kept grounds and clean pool. Would recommend for sure, we will return! You want to choose a condo that faces the pool and ocean!

The room also was very nice, except for a couple of issues----the dishwasher should be cleaned out regularly (the filter was very dirty), and the filter on the furnace was also in need of a change. other then those 2 things the room was great! nicely furnished and very comfortable.Margaret, in the office was very friendly, helpful, and as usual went out of her way to assist us. when we are at Silver Sands we usually spend most of our time right there. But, we have been to many of the restaurants and enjoyed them all. We've also been to St Armands Circle (Columbias is a favorite!), and we also go to Bridge Street.We've been going to Long Boat Key at least once a year for over 30 years, and to Silver Sands for probably the last 20+. We have lived in Florida for the last 12 years, but still would never give up our trips to Silvers Sands.stay 5/ condition 5/ location 5/ cleanliness 5

Summer Break Vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We wanted a vacation where we could get out of bed, and land on the beach & this met that expectation. We all had a great time, the kids loved the beach. It was nice & quiet and so relaxing.We did arrive earlier than the 4pm check in time & could not get into the room until 4pm. So my advice is don't arrive early and expect to get into the room. The room was clean, and exactly as described in the photos. The cooking pans & utensils are in need of replacement. If you have more than 4 people and book the suite with the extra room there is not a lot of sitting space in the living room. The sofa fits 2-3 people and the one chair needs a cushion replaced when you sit in it you sink.We did call the front desk to let them know the bathroom tub in the suite was not draining, and no one came to look into it or call us back which was disappointing. Also there is no one at the front office all the time so it is a hit or miss to find someone to talk to. We were also under the impression that the rooms would be made up & restocked per the confirmation/agreement. When we got there they told us that service was not available anymore. Which was disappointing. We had to go daily for new towels & toilet paper which was inconvenient to try & remember to go before 5pm when the staff leave for the day. The other bathroom shower had no pressure. The blinds kept falling down when you open & closed the sliders, and the lanai door latch was broken so we could not lock it overnight. There are some minor maintenance issues that really should be looked into.We usually stay in resorts and wanted to try something different with the kids. Perhaps we had different expectations with the staffing onsite & services. Hopefully they resolve these issues.

Great Get away

The only improvement, I would recommend would be a ice machine. Reviewer Comments: this is about our12th year at silver sands. this year it seemed to have been refreshed.. the grounds looked well kept and building painted. the rental was well furnished, except for kitchen. it only had 4 forks for a 6 person rental. it needed brighter light in kitchen and a light over the sink otherwise i'd rent it again.

Not again!

This year we arrived to a closed pool with no notification. It was closed for half of our trip which was a real disappointment. After making a stink, management finally gave us 15% back but it didn’t quite feel like enough given the situation. We love this area, and the resort, but unfortunately it’s poorly managed.

245S dirty and smelly

This was our first time renting room 245S. Upon entering the room smelled terribly Of must/mildew. There were broken/missing slats on patio blinds. There was a big brown stain on the couch. Shower door handle was broken and someone almost fell when they held onto it. We called the front desk to get these issues resolved which they did promptly. However the musty mildewy smell remainEd as well as stain on couch making our stay in room 245 not a good one. Customers should not have to walk into a room like that. Very Disappointed in Silver Sands and we will have to seriously rethink ever staying there again. Beach and pool were nice.

Silver Sands Review

The only problem we really encountered was a rude staff member on the second day of our stay. When we were walking to our unit on the first day we noticed a bin for dirty beach towels and made a note to drop the sandy towels there when coming in from the beach. On the 2nd day our room was not cleaned so we needed clean bath towels and beach towels. When we called the office the man who answered the phone snapped, "You should have clean towels your room was cleaned". When we told him our room was not cleaned he argued that it was. We again told him it was not cleaned he snapped "your do not disturb sign was on". It was not. That is not why we called though we just needed clean towels. He said he would see what he could do. He showed up with some bath towels and beach towels and told us he had already dropped some off. I was not aware, that he had given some to my husband so I apologized. But than he very rudely went off on a rant telling us we had to make our towels last the entire stay. I told him that was not made clear to us when we checked in. When I asked about the dirty towel bin, and pointed out in most places we had vacationed in the past you dropped the dirty towels in the bin and got new ones he got very angry and told us that isn't how it works. Again I apologized and said that wasn't make clear to us at check in. Once again he got angry and said he couldn't promise us any clean towels the rest of our vacation. We would have brought our own beach towels had we known this, using sandy towels over and over is not appealing. Especially with everyone needing things to be sanitized during this covid pandemic! If that is the case pack your own beach towels should be on the list.

Beautiful all around

Got to this ground floor condo which was located just perfect ,steps to the pool and Barbq ' and 40 steps to the immaculate white soft sand beach ., the unit was very clean and nice kitchen was great and bedrooms were nicely decorated with tommy Bahamas furniture , the staff was nice anything I wanted they got for me , going back again in July ,can't wait!!
