About this property

A wonderful, secluded 2 story cabin, deck, fire pit, stocked pond for fishing.

Looking for a way to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and create memories with your spouse, friends, or family, this is the place to make this happen. Wonderful cabin located just outside of Paradise, Utah 15 minutes to Logan, Utah and 5 minutes to Hyrum Dam. The cabin has two stories. The main level has a great room with leather couches, fully stocked kitchen, half bath, TV with satellite dish, board games, wood burning fire place, air conditioning, large deck with gorgeous views of pond on property and the Little Bear River Bottoms. Basement level has gas stove, electric heat, two bedrooms, both with very comfortable queen beds, and a full bath. Walking outside you will find a patio with a Weber grill and flat top grill for cooking, a large fire pit, a large lawn area for games including volleyball. There is a one-acre pond for fishing, but no swimming or kayaking. Access is down a gravel road. We recommend 4-wheel or all-wheel drive high-clearance vehicles. The cabin sleeps 4 in two queen beds, but has two long leather couches and a leather love seat couch (extra bedding as well) on the main floor where others could sleep and tents are allowed.

Extended Our Stay A Few More Days
We ended up staying a few days longer as our project scope was extended. I'd like to add that we saw a variety of wildlife. A lot of Sandhill Cranes, a fox in a field below, Several Pheasants, Magpies, a few deer, and we heard some Turkeys. The owner did come by daily...

Very Relaxing Cozy Cabin
Property was well maintained. Patio views were spectacular. The owner came and checked in on us several times and to tend to the pond. Kitchen was well stocked. Pellet heater was cozy and effective. Beds comfortable. Tasha was a great communicator and friendly. We were here for work but enjoyed a gateway experience in the evenings/ weekends. I'd definitely stay here again.

Bruce taught at the University of Kentucky in the Department of Restorative Dentistry. He was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1972 and labeled disabled in 1982 which ended his dental career. The family moved back home to Paradise, Utah, for family support in raising their five children, ages three to ten. Margie began her teaching career at Mountain Crest High School. They have all grown with families of their own and they still love the cabin and treasure memories they have as they grew.

Why they chose this property

This property was sold from a larger land parcel and did not have road access. In the beginning it had a small pond, an unattended cabin in a rough, weedy area. Bruce and Margie saw the possibilities from the beginning - a place, if developed, which could be an escape from the tense circumstances of everyday life, a place of peace and a return to nature so one could evaluate one's life journey. The ten-acre plot of land was Bruce's way to provide a place to be together and to work together as the family grew. All members of the family worked hard to create, over the years, a beautiful cabin area that it is today.

What makes this property unique

Description from someone who stayed at the cabin in 2019.
"I have laid in this hammock for two hours, listening to the water cascading into the pond, to geese honking as they fly up the valley, to Sand Hill Cranes beyond the pond and two wild turkeys, but I don't know where they are. In every direction I look it is absolutely isolated and beautiful. I watched the cows and calves feeding in the pasture, watched all kinds of birds and two large Red-Tailed Hawks circling and landing in a bare branched tree top about one-half block away on the hillside. I've watched the horses behind the fence as they watched me almost as intently as I watched them. No, this is not Nearly Paradise, this is Paradise."
