Enjoy all that Southern Illinois has to offer in this newly remodeled house. Whether you’re sitting on the front porch, or enjoying the back deck, you’ll be able to enjoy all nature has to offer. This home is convenient to many local attractions including Dixon Springs State Park, Lake Glendale, and the Shawnee National Forest. As well as only 11 miles from Interstate 24 (Vienna/Golconda Exit). There is one other rental unit on the property. Hunting and fishing are not permitted on this property.

Lovely location

This house has more than enough room for our family to stay. The views from the front porch were lovely and the view from the back deck was totally divine! Thank you for a good house for our vacation.

Great weekend getaway

Nothing too fancy but was a perfect place for a last minute getaway to enjoy southern il. Hosts answered all questions and were very responsive and helpful. Will stay here again.

Beautiful house

If you are okay with being out in farmland and away from it all, then this place is great! My family was here to see the national forest and surrounding areas, and it was perfect. I recommend the Garden of the Gods! The beds were very comfortable, and kitchen well stocked.

Peaceful and easy

This stay included everything we needed for a quiet a rejuvenating long weekend - easy access to hiking, small town with good pizza, a chocolate factory and ice cream shop within 5 minutes drive and yet somehow very secluded and quiet. We enjoyed sitting on the covered deck every evening and watching the deer and turkeys go by.

Visit to Garden of the God and Zipline tour

This house was a great place to stay if you like to be in the country. We watched deer eating in the pasture while sitting on the back porch relaxing. There are lots of beds for people staying in the house and very comfortable beds too. I really loved the decor throughout the house, because it added a special touch. Also, the owners added a special touch with candy with marshmallows, graham crackers and chocolate for smores. The check-in was extremely easy. I will definitely will rent this place again!!

B-Day Trip 2022

Shawn was very helpful with the check-in process. Whatever question I had were promptly answered. The property and stay was fantastic. I stayed with my mother, step-dad, and daughter and were greeted with a small welcome gift. The house was close to our intended destinations with the perfect amount of amenities needed for the four of us and up to the original intended 9. We were very happy here and hope to rent from Shawn and Angela again in the fall!

More Than Expected

We found everything to be as described and then some. This property, tucked away beside fields and forest, was spacious, clean and comfortable with beautiful views. The high speed internet connection was a pleasant surprise making this the perfect place for a work retreat if you need one. We used the property to rendezvous with our kids and grandkids. It was perfect for this purpose as well.

Comfortable and Serene

The house was comfortable and provided plenty of space for my family to relax. My kids especially loved the pool table in the basement! The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals - plenty of dishes, assorted pots and pans, utensils, etc. The location was also perfect for exploring the many different parks and natural areas. We enjoyed our stay!

Already booked for next year!

Very nicely renovated farmhouse with a covered deck overlooking acres of forest-lined pasture. You can sit out and watch the wildlife come out at dawn and dusk. Nice private drive. Plenty of bunks for everyone. We just finished our annual visit. Sorry to leave, but we’ve already booked again for next year!
