The cabin and the property were gorgeous! Very well stocked for all of our needs(full kitchen, extra linens). We had the BEST time! The cabin is located just a short distance from the Penyrile Lake and not far from Dawson Springs(highly recommend the little bakery on the square!) and the property itself is so lovely for just sitting out on the porch and relaxing. If you’re looking for a weekend away with your family or just a couples getaway this is the perfect place.

Everything we needed for a quiet weekend in the outdoors! Cabin was very accommodating and comfortable. Enjoyed porch sitting with a view, built a fire and roasted marshmallows with the kids! Sweet, stray dog with collar/no tags frequented the property, no animal control in the county. Just a heads up if you are traveling with your furbabies.

You can not go wrong! This is a jewel of a place to stay when coming to this area. Cabin is great with all that you need. Comfortable beds and living room area. Fire pit area was amazing for s’mores and hanging out. The tree swing and large pavilion area would be nice to share with friends. Stop scrolling and book now. You won’t be disappointed! Did not want to leave the front porch… could have stayed longer for sure! Beds - comfortable Kitchen -clean and stocked Front porch area- amazing Fire pit area -easy to access and good condition Just a few mins from the beach at Pennyrile - a must do About 50 mins from LBL and Grand Rivers.

Quiet Escape from the City

Getaway to Kentucky

I love sharing this beautiful property with guests! Crofton KY is the place my father moved to as a small child in the early 1940's. The US government bought the farm from his father in NW Tennessee to make room for the incoming Ft. Campbell military base. Travelling by horse-drawn wagon, my grandfather Hargis found a place in Crofton to call home. He sent for his wife and their two small children. His wife's parents came, too. They spent the remainder of their lives in this town.

Why they chose this property

I feel history and heritage come alive at this place. There is for me a deep sense of purpose and peace here. I hope you find the same on your stay.
