It was exactly the getaway we were looking for. It was wonderful to be surrounded by wild and domestic animals. The cabin was quaint and cozy. We were able to walk right out the door and into forest land. We will definitely consider this again next year when it is 120 in the desert.
Amazing stay great hosts and an amazing view in the pines!
The stay was absolutely amazing, the hosts were very f Rr only and helpful they had everything ready on time and the cottage felt like home in the woods with beautiful views!
Used it to stay in for my hunting trip, very pleasant owners, check in was extremely easy. Great communication and I would definitely stay there again.
This is our second time staying at the cabin. Joe and Barbara are wonderful hosts. Our two girls loved helping around the ranch and hanging out with the horses. We will definitely be back again.
What an amazingly beautiful place to spend a few days I highly recommend it the hosts were wonderful the property was great and just a short hop to the Grand Canyon
The cabin is lovely, with a woodsy theme but lovely in all respects. It is equipped with everything you might need, and lots of thoughtful touches like dual control electric blanket, toiletries, cozy lap blankets and even dual dog dishes!
We will be back!
The hosts are very hospitable. The cabin was very clean and had great amenities. The property was lovely and being able to see horses in the fields was special.
I went to escape and do nothing and it worked out great!
Had a great time. Beautiful setting in the national forest. The horses walking around everywhere was really fun to watch. Felt really safe and was a quiet atmosphere. Cabin was just right.
We were promptly greeted upon arrival. All necessary info was provided. They were great hosts as they readily and willingly accommodated our needs. My granddaughters really enjoyed feeding the horses and walking the goat. It's beatiful and quiet! A great escape!
Another perfect vacation on the Ranch. Perfect weather, rain, thunderstorms, Sun and cool mountain temps. Joe & Barb are the best. Wife enjoyed the horseback riding, plenty of off road trails, fresh eggs and so much more. See ya next year!
We enjoyed everything about our stay. So scenic and peaceful, and hosts Joe and Barbara were very warm and welcoming. This property is a gem. Such a unique setting, being in the shade of the pines with a view of the adjacent, sunny meadow. The sights and sounds of all the livestock were a delight, and an unexpected bonus was a great hiking trail just beyond the back gate. We are already planning a return visit.
The cabin was clean and comfortable. Joe met us at the cabin when we arrived. He was welcoming and very considerate. He assured us that he would provide anything we needed for our comfort and use, be it extra pellets for the stove, paper towels, soap, etc. It was a great escape from both the heat and hustle of Phoenix.
Joe and Barbara's ranch is a hunk of paradise and Wow! Is the best word to describe it! We had a wonderful time and so did our dog. Joe and Barbara are great hosts. Joe took us on a trail ride to the mesa - best trail ride of all time! Only bad thing was leaving. THANK YOU Joe and Barbara!! 👍👍

Why they chose this property
Absolutely no danger of flooding, even during the occasionally heavy Monsoon thunderstorms. About 40 ft elevation from the Spring Valley floor. Incredibly beautiful 3-tiered setting with lots and lots of character including rock outcroppings and huge pines, many of which are old-growth pines. Plenty of shade and cool afternoon and evening breezes during the hottest summer days (85F). And the snow covered trees in winter help accentuate a real-life winter wonderland from mid-December thru February.
We have a Chevy Avalanche, 3/4 ton SnowPlow, a snow blower, and plenty of snow shovels. Therefore, we nor any guests have ever been snowed-in here!
2 ponds with duck sit at the Southern tip of the property which is the virtual starting point of the expansive meadows of the Spring Valley. A 9400 ft mountain sits immediately to the West. Its foothills are only about a mile away!
What makes this property unique
Private, off street parking right at your door. DirecTV with HD TV. Pellet stove for winter stays keeps the cabin toasty even during the coldest nights and days! Open or crack the windows for beautiful, cooling breezes nearly every day of summer. Elk, deer and an occasional antelope visit the property regularly, except in the heart of winter. Kuerig coffee maker with medium or dark roast coffee pods and sugar. BBQ tools located between fire pit/BBQ and propane BBQ with adjacent chairs and a picnic table just outside your door. Snowplow on property to provide you easy access during winter storms. Unusually major storms or equipment fails can impair access or egress. But that would be an unusual, however, forsee-able situation. Fire roads for quads virtually everywhere around us. Fun adventures everywhere you turn! Check snowpack. You might want to bring your snowmobiles, cross-country or downhill skis, snowshoes, discs, sleds and/or toboggans in Winter months.
