About this property

Fabulous 1-bedroom condo with AC in Bradenton Beach

I am looking to rent my condo on Anna Maria Island, Bradenton Beach - FL. This is a studio condo with a full kitchen. It has a queen size bed and a pullout couch, full kitchen and one bathroom. There is basic cable, WIFI, and utilities are included in the rental price. NO pets and no smoking.

The condo is at Tortuga Inn which is a popular resort condo/hotel. It offers private beach access with beach chairs included within my HOA. Two pools onsite and cover parking as an option. The room is on the top floor so no noisy upper neighbors. The view outside is of the garden area. A short walk to the pool and the beach can be seen from from balcony.

It's the perfect beach to bay resort on Florida's unspoiled Anna Maria Island. Plus a private white sand beach just across the street, two heated pools, a private pergola with amazing ocean views and water craft rentals. Manatees are known to habitat the bay area during certain times a year, dolphins and other wildlife are also regular visitors with the bay and ocean.

Within the condo; it's a 1 bedroom, has a full kitchen, dishwasher, coffee maker, plenty of cooking utensils, breakfast bar that seats 2. The living room is very spacious with a couch. There is one bathroom with shower. The condo has basic cable, smart tv and free wifi.

The listing stated there were 2 queen beds and 2 pull out beds, we arrived and there was only 1 pullout bed and 1 queen bed. I could not get ahold of the host so called VRBO who I then spent 1.5 hours on the phone with as they got ahold of the host finally and informed the host that they needed to refund my money due to incorrect listing information. The host was extremely difficult to get ahold of and work with. VRBO stated that they will be imposing fines on the host due to this ordeal. VRBO was very helpful, this host was awful.

Two incidents reflect poorly on the host and the property, which is why this review is less than favorable. 1. On arrival day we were promised check-in instructions between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. The instructions never arrived. We were told the room would be ready by 4 p.m. We arrived at AMI about 3 p.m. Since we hadn't heard anything, we stopped at the AMI Oyster Bar to eat. We expected a VRBO message from the host by 4 p.m. but never received one. At 4:20pm I called the VRBO Care team and explained the situation. VRBO called me back 5 min later, informing me they had phoned the host and informed them we were waiting for instructions. About 5 min later.I received a VRBO message from the host blaming the delay on an "internet outage". I told the host their phone was working fine when VRBO called and the internet outage was a poor excuse. They should have used the VRBO phone app to inform us.2. My wife and I were falsely accused and charged 50 for full replacement value of an old toilet seat. The seat was not broken.There was a 4-5 inch long crack, which was more of a cosmetic issue. We are not sure if the crack was there before we arrived.  Their toilet is not regular height. It's lower than normal and very difficult to sit down on and stand up from. It should be obvious that years of people plopping down hard on the seat would eventually cause it to crack. My host would have none of it and was unable to provide a plausible explanation for how we "broke" the toilet seat.
