Three king and two twin beds—there’s plenty of room for up to eight guests to relax and recharge. Two full bathrooms make this home especially comfortable for families or groups. Central heating and air conditioning ensure year-round comfort, and thoughtful, home-like amenities make it easy to pack light. Whether you’re planning quiet evenings in or full days of adventure, this beautiful home is the perfect place to land. We look forward to welcoming you to our home.
Inside, you’ll find a comfortable and inviting living area with ample seating for everyone, a dining table for shared meals, and a newly remodeled, fully equipped modern kitchen. Additional conveniences include a full-size washer and dryer, as well as an electric fireplace to keep things cozy on cooler nights. There are two full bathrooms, plus an outdoor shower with hot and cold water and a foot wash—perfect for rinsing off sand after a day at the beach.
As comfortable as Driftwood Cottage is indoors, its most spectacular feature is the ocean-facing deck. With chairs, loungers, a porch swing, and a picnic table, it’s the ideal spot to catch the sea breeze, enjoy your morning coffee, or unwind with a glass of wine in the afternoon. The beach is incredibly close—just a short 50-yard walk and your feet are in the surf.
For entertainment, the home offers five smart TVs, free Wi-Fi, books, games, and puzzles—but the real star is the beach itself. Spend your days shelling, hunting for sea glass (also known as mermaid tears), surfing, swimming, fishing, or building sandcastles right outside your door. If you catch dinner, there’s a fish-cleaning station under the house, ready for prep before heading to the grill or kitchen.
Hatteras Island is truly one of the most beautiful places on earth, where a narrow strip of sand separates the Atlantic Ocean from the Pamlico Sound. Rodanthe Pier and Salvo Beach are an easy bike ride away along the scenic coastal trail. Nearby attractions include Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge, the Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum, and the charming villages of Avon, Buxton, Waves, and Frisco—all just a short drive. Bird lovers will be delighted, as the island is home to more than 400 bird species.
