Ames Farm is a true rural retreat featuring a charming, historic Vermont Farmhouse. Built in 1780, and once a local tavern, guests will have exclusive use of the farmhouse, which comfortably sleeps 6 adults, plus 2 children. Enjoy over 80 acres with meadows, fruit trees, and woodlands!
The first floor boasts a large sunny chef’s kitchen, cozy living room with Smart TV, sitting room with dedicated work space, reading den, large mudroom, half bathroom with washer and dryer, and solarium featuring Peloton, water rowing machine, board games, and two sets of bunk beds. Upstairs, enjoy the master bedroom with a king sized bed and en suite bathroom, two guest rooms, each with queen sized beds, and a full bathroom with tub.
Swing open the mudroom door to relax on the back porch or enjoy a meal on the back patio overlooking the berm and field. Hang out around one of the two fire pits on the property, or grill up a meal to enjoy with friends and family. Don’t miss the hot tub, just past the sprawling yards, behind the cottage. The house is 10 minutes from historic Newfane Village with great restaurants, an historic general store, farmstand, antique store, wine shop, and flower nursery. Brattleboro, Putney, Bellows Falls, and Grafton are all about 25 minutes away with great additional restaurants, shopping, and entertainment offerings.
To get here, we are 1.5 hours from Bradley (BDL) airport in Hartford, CT, 2 hours from Albany, NY (ALB) airport, and 2.5 hours from Boston Logan (BOS). The train station in Brattleboro, VT (BRA) is 30 minutes away and the Vermonter Amtrak arrives once per day from the south (originating in Washington, DC) and once per day from the north (originating in St. Albans, VT).
