Monterey Dunes 208 - Moss Landing Townhome - A Mile of Beachfront!

Sun, sea and solitude. Monterey Dunes Colony vacation townhomes are stretched out over a mile of secluded beachfront. Each home has a boardwalk to the beach where you can walk, play, fish, build a sandcastle—or just do nothing. Common area amenities include a swimming pool (April to October) and hot tub; tennis, basketball, volleyball and bocce ball courts and a golf driving cage.  Located a few minutes from Moss Landing, Monterey Dunes is 18 miles north of Monterey and nine miles south of Watsonville. This beachfront tri-level  (approx. 2000 square feet), accommodates up to eight in four bedrooms and three baths (3 King beds, 1 double bed). Conveniently located in the center of the complex, with easy access to the common area facilities, the unit is reached via stairs from the lower parking lot.  NOTE: Main living room view window is fogged and will be undergoing replacement.The Monterey Dunes Colony is a gated enclave of beachfront vacation homes between Santa Cruz and Monterey. Located near the quaint harbor town of Moss Landing, these properties enjoy a mile of secluded beachfront and numerous outdoor amenities.

Very enjoyable property. The views were spectacular. Beds and furniture were comfortable. I would come again. So close to the beach. The grandkids loved the beach, the basketball courts and pool.

The view and proximity to the beach was great! Perfect amount of rooms and bathrooms for 8 people. The beds were really comfortable. Great amount of space. Check out was really easy. Not much you have to do.The cons, the carpet had a lot of stains and the house smelled like urine. Not sure if it’s b/c the house is pet friendly. We had to open the windows pretty much our whole stay b/c of the strong urine odor.I would rate this townhouse stay an 8/10.

We could have sent a housekeeper to investigate and/or offered to move you. We take concerns like this very seriously. The townhouse is not pet-friendly, but the property is located directly on the ocean, and from time to time there can be a distinct natural ocean or coastal smell, particularly depending on weather and tide conditions. While we can’t say for certain that this was the source of the odor you noticed, it is one possibility. We also appreciate your feedback regarding the carpet, and we scheduled a cleaning immediately. We continue to look for ways to keep the home in the best possible condition and are pleased that, despite these concerns, you enjoyed the ocean view, beach access, and the comfortable beds. We hope you will return—we will endeavor to provide a five-star experience next time.
