About this property
Firefly Trail Steps Away Charming Victorian in the Historic District
Make your Greene County stay part of the celebration (or the best stop of your entire road trip).
Step into true Southern charm in this historic home—an ideal home base for wedding weekends, family gatherings, and travelers looking for a comfortable, memorable place to recharge just off I‑20 on the journey from Florida up north. With four inviting bedrooms and three full bathrooms, everyone can spread out, settle in, and still enjoy plenty of privacy—perfect for multi‑generation families, wedding guests, or friends sharing a weekend together.
Inside, the warm, welcoming living areas make it easy to gather—swap stories after the rehearsal dinner, sip coffee before a big day, or unwind after exploring Greene County. And the star of the stay? The huge Southern front porch, where you can swing on the bed swing, linger with loved ones, and soak up those easy breezes that make small‑town life feel so relaxing. It’s the kind of spot that turns simple moments into favorite memories (and makes a beautiful backdrop for photos, too).
Located within the Historic District in Union Point, this home is steps away from downtown (and the General Store and historic Pharmacy) and most importantly the End Point of the Firefly Trail!
The Firefly Trail is a developing 39-mile, multi-use rail-trail in Northeast Georgia that will connect Athens-Clarke, Oglethorpe, and Greene counties, spanning from Athens to Union Point. The trail converts an abandoned 1880s railroad corridor into a recreational path. Designed for pedestrians and bicyclists, the paved trail follows the historic Athens Branch of the Georgia Railroad, offering a safe, scenic path through towns like Winterville, Maxeys, and Crawford. A similar experience to the Swamp Rabbit Trail in Greenville, SC.
The route passes through lush, wooded areas and open farmland, offering a scenic, tranquil,, and safe alternative to high-speed roads.
Back at the historic home on Veazey Street, thoughtful conveniences like an abundance of parking, hair dryers, irons and a full kitchen help you feel at home—especially when you’re getting ready for events or heading back on the road. We can’t wait to host you and share all that Union Point has to offer.
