Welcome to The Slate & Cedar A-Frame, designed by renowned architect, Art Vandelay, this cozy retreat offers the perfect blend of seclusion and convenience. Though you'll feel worlds away, this property is just minutes from historic downtown Berkeley Springs filled with unique shops, local dining and cultural attractions. Stay with us and you'll enjoy free EV charging, all you can eat s'mores by the fire pit, and a tranquil escape in the forest to reconnect with nature. We're located about two hours from Baltimore, MD and Washington, D.C. - and about 2.5 hours from Pittsburgh, PA. We loved everything about this fantastic rental. We stayed with our dogs, and it was everything I could have hoped for. The cabin itself was so cute and comfortable! And there was so much to do in the area. I would recommend to anyone!

This place was beautiful and we had a wonderful stay. It's possibly a bit nicer than it looks in the photos, and the photos really look amazing. The owner has thought of so many details -- we have never stayed in a rental place that was so well stocked, with so many nice touches like s'more supplies, fully stocked campfire materials, including dry logs, kindling, starter material, and gloves. Those are just a few examples. Everything was just top notch. We are already talking about when we can come for another getaway.

This cabin was a great getaway for us - it provided a beautiful setting in a mature forest with abundant singing birds every morning and a back door that opens up entirely for a screened-in porch in the canopy feeling. The projector was a hit with our teen who enjoyed watching movies in the bedroom with it. So many games and amenities were provided, and Kevin was super communicative and friendly. We were would stay here again and recommend the place to others!

This place is OUTSTANDING! From the booking process to the ease of checking in, all the way thru with how clean and relaxing it feels as soon as you enter the cabin. I appreciated Kevin responding to messages when I had questions- he is very friendly and welcoming. I love how I felt very at home with all the little details like having coffee pods with sweeteners & creamers, shampoo/conditioner in the shower, plenty of wood for fires, little candles to light at night- all felt very cozy and made the weekend so enjoyable and relaxing. Lots of snow was still outside so didn’t get to use all the games and amenities like the yoga deck or kayaks - so will definitely book again come warmer weather. And a special thank you for having a dog bed and bowls for my big fur baby- he had a blast!!

We had a fantastic weekend getaway at Kevin’s cabin in Great Cacapon. The property was the perfect peaceful retreat to unplug and recharge. Kevin was an outstanding host—responsive, welcoming, and clearly dedicated to making sure his guests have a comfortable stay. The cabin itself was immaculate, cozy, and perfectly situated to enjoy the surrounding natural beauty. I chose this location in Great Cacapon, WV due to its proximity to the charming town of Berkeley Springs, WV and easy access to Cacapon Resort State Park. This Park is loaded with great hiking and mountain bike trails as well as golf, horseback riding, and a man-made lake for swimming.
