About this property

Dog Friendly w/Fenced Yard, 5 Private Acres, Sunset Views, Fire Pit, 1GB WiFi

Welcome to Lucky Lookout — a private 3-bedroom, 1-bathroom cabin on 5 secluded acres near Berkeley Springs, West Virginia. Tucked into the hills with sweeping valley and sunset views, it's a true escape that's still just 10 minutes from Cacapon Resort State Park and about 25 minutes from downtown Berkeley Springs. Washington, DC and Baltimore are both roughly 2 hours away, making this a perfect long weekend getaway. Our cabin welcomes up to 5 guests, and we pride ourselves in being dog friendly with a fenced yard and plenty of extras so your pups enjoy their vacation, too!

[ABOUT THE CABIN]
As you step inside, there's an easy-to-access king bedroom off to your right and a full bathroom with shower on your left.

The entry hall takes you into an open living room, kitchen, and dining room with an expansive wall of floor to ceiling windows looking over the valley below. Grab coffee from our stocked corner coffee station, or listen to some records or stream music from your phone to the record player/Bluetooth speaker.

Head upstairs into the loft to find two semi-private bedrooms: one with a queen bed, and the other with a twin daybed and cozy reading nook.

Step outside onto the expansive deck with a propane grill and gently rocking dining chairs — perfect to enjoy your dinner while watching the colorful sunset, or to sip your coffee in the early morning peace. From the deck, walk down the stairs to a newly fenced yard perfect for pups to run around off leash.

Ready for a campfire? Head back out the front door and across the gravel driveway to find the fire pit surrounded by comfortable Adirondack chairs... perfect for cooking s'mores under the string lights or sipping a drink while watching the sun sink below the horizon.

Cabin amenities at-a-glance:
• 3 bedrooms (1 king / 1 queen / 1 twin daybed) · 1 bathroom · Sleeps 5
• Dog-friendly with fenced yard, pet supplies, and dog towels included
• Expansive back deck with propane grill and valley sunset views
• Front fire pit with Adirondack chairs and string lights

[PET FRIENDLY]
The Lucky Lookout is dog friendly, and we welcome up to 3 dogs. We provide spare dog towels, a pet blanket for the couch, and extra poo bags - please help us by cleaning up after your furry friends in the yard and wipe muddy paws as best you can.

House-trained dogs are welcome for an additional $50 per stay. Please be sure to indicate that you're bringing pets on your reservation.

[GUEST ACCESS]
The last mile leading up to our cabin is a well-maintained gravel road, but it is narrow and steep in places so please drive carefully. AWD/4WD is not necessary but guests may be more comfortable in an SUV on the back roads.

Enjoy a seamless arrival with self check-in using our smart lock. You will have access to the entire home and the surrounding 5-acre property. Please be mindful of our neighbors, as they also came here for solitude and quiet :)

Let us know as soon as possible if you're looking for early check-in or late checkout — we'll try our best to accommodate!

[OTHER THINGS TO NOTE]
To ensure you have a comfortable and informed stay, please note the following:

>> Connectivity: Our home is equipped with 1G fiber internet and a smart TV, so you can log into your favorite streaming services.

>> Wood Stove: The wood stove is currently inoperable and unavailable for guest use.

>> Security Cameras: We have four exterior cameras for security when our home is unoccupied. One is at the entrance, one at the side of the house, one in our driveway, and one on the back deck. We do not monitor these cameras while guests are on our property.

>> Wildlife & Bugs: Given our remote and natural location, bugs and mosquitoes are part of the experience. We treat the property professionally multiple times a year, but we recommend bringing bug spray with DEET.

>> The blue storage shed off the driveway is locked and off-limits to guests.

Looking for more to do? Cacapon Resort State Park is only 10 minutes away, and has a beautiful scenic overlook, pickleball and basketball courts, horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking, a spa, playground for kids, and much more.

This cabin was everything that we needed and then some. It was cozy, peaceful, romantic and exciting. The fact that it is pet friendly, with a fenced in yard was the icing on the cake. Lara our host was more than accommodating, friendly and very good with communicating with us.

The cabin exceeded our expectations! The space is cozy and very dog friendly. Lara has thought of everything - firewood, dog bowls & clean up bags, stocked keurig w/ creamer, shower gel, shampoo & conditioner, spare toothbrushes and a brita filter. We also appreciated the proximity to Cacapon State Park. This my 5th time visiting Berkeley Springs and this is the best property I’ve rented. I plan to return!

We had such a wonderful and relaxing getaway here. From the moment we walked in, the home felt warm, cozy, and inviting—truly like a home away from home. We especially loved ending each evening around the fire pit (with plenty of wood provided), taking in the incredible views and watching the sunset. It was such a treat. We cooked dinner every night, and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. The couch was incredibly comfortable for cozy movie nights, which made the experience even more relaxing. Our dog absolutely loved the open space to run around and settled in peacefully each night right along with us. I can only imagine how beautiful this property must be in every season—especially in the fall and spring. This was a truly peaceful, beautiful weekend, and we would highly recommend staying here. It genuinely feels like home.

I started using VRBO for unique getaways in my 20s, and now as a wife and mom of 2 boys it is still my preferred way to stay! When traveling, I look for somewhere clean and comfortable to start my day with steaming cup of coffee and end it with a glass of wine and comfy bed to snooze in -- and I aim to provide the same comforts to my guests!
