A peaceful retreat, reminiscent of stays at your grandparent’s home, but with modern amenities. Just a couple blocks to Mt. Tabor Park, Coquine, and the restaurants and shops on SE Stark Street Strip. With views of Mt. Hood, and space to relax on the covered deck, this vintage Portland home is the perfect pad for serenity and space that is close to it all. Feels like a stay at Grandma's house, without the Grandma :)
There are two bedrooms upstairs and one bedroom on the main. The primary bedroom upstairs includes a closet and dresser for guest use and a king size bed with storage underneath. The guest bedroom upstairs includes a full bed and dresser for guest use.
Enjoy a fabulous "view from the loo" in the upstairs full bath that includes dual sinks and shower/tub. This bathroom may have the best vantage point in the whole house, with direct east facing, unobstructed views of Mt. Hood (when it's not raining, of course).
The downstairs bedroom includes a closer and dresser available for guest use, and the downstairs bathroom includes a tile shower.
The tile kitchen features electric cooktop, built-in electric oven, dishwasher and French Press coffee station with electric kettle, and is stocked with fresh coffee and tea, as well as condiments, cooking implements, and various spices.
The front living room has plenty of books for perusing, with cozy seating around the vintage fireplace (no actual fires allowed, unfortunately). The dining room has a record player/radio combo, with an auxiliary connection for smart devices. Turn up the jams and have your own, private, Mt Tabor Dance Party! The bonus room in the back features a gas fireplace (fires allowed in this one! Just flip the switch!), and also has a tv with Amazon FireStick, so you can keep up with your shows and movies during your stay. Also feel free to give the guitars and synths a try while you're in town. Who knows, maybe you'll come up with the next one hit wonder!
Looking forward to making your stay in Portland a whimsical, peaceful, and comfy one.

About the host
Hosted by Devin Arthurs
Originally from Delaware, I moved to Portland in 2007 and quickly fell in love with the city and the Pacific Northwest in general. With so much great food, music, scenery, outdoor activities, and nature, it's hard to think of a better place to live and be! I love hosting folks in the Rose City and since I have been here for almost 2 decades, I have plenty of suggestions for things to see and do! Don't hesitate to ask :)
Why they chose this property
Mt Tabor is one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Portland. It's elevated, but in terms of actual elavation, and livability! My house is located just a couple blocks from Mt Tabor park, a huge nature park that is home to tons of wild life, loads of birds, scenic reservoirs, playgrounds, picnic areas, tennis courts, and a plethora of public events. Concerts in the park, Shakespeare in the park, the annual soap box derby, running and biking races, Mt Tabor Dance Parties...the list goes on! It's also centrally located to all of the rest of East Portland's desirable destinations, so everything is within reach.
What makes this property unique
Cute and quaint meets spacious. I know that seems oxymoronic, but this english style home somehow makes it work. Lots of space to stretch out in the home or find a cozy corner with a book. Still retaining a lot of it's original 1930's charm, some elements have been updated or modernized through the years to create a more functional space for everyone.
