Casa del Río Barú is a beautiful riverside lodge consisting of four private lodging units (the Main House and three hotel-style Studio rooms) along with several common amenities including a rancho with a bar (bring your own drinks), TV, pool table, seating and some basic kitchen amenities (dishes, cutlery, glasses, cookware, gas cooktop, and sink). There is also a BBQ grill, outdoor shower, community restroom, garden and river access. This listing is for the Main House which has 3 bedrooms with AC, 2 full bathrooms, well-equipped kitchen and comfortable living areas.

Casa del Río Barú is easily accessible without a 4x4 vehicle and is perfectly situated in Costa Rica’s stunning South Pacific region. Just 3 km from Dominical, a world-renowned surf destination, and about 20 km from Uvita, the vibrant heart of the Costa Ballena (Whale Coast) and the iconic Whale’s Tail beach inside Marino Ballena National Park. We’re also only minutes away from the breathtaking Nauyaca Waterfalls, one of Costa Rica’s most spectacular natural wonders. Hello! My name is Nick and I live in Florida. Several years ago, I met my partner, Marcela, in Costa Rica while we were working together on a research project through our jobs. Marcela lives in San Jose. I recently retired and we decided to buy a property in Costa Rica that we could eventually turn into an eco-tourism and educational destination. We eventually found Casa del Río Barú and fell in love with the property.

Why they chose this property

We chose the South Pacific region of Costa Rica due to the beauty and the geographic and biological diversity of the area. Here, where the mountains meet the ocean, we found a beautiful and serene riverside location that is close to many attractions but remote enough to promote relaxation.
