Great property and an even better host. Lori met us upon arrival and made the check-in process seamless, which we really appreciated after a long day of travel. The highlight was the outdoor living space and the screened-in bedrooms. The temperature was cool and comfortable, making for a perfect night’s sleep. Highly recommend!

Thank you for the kind review! I’m glad the personal check-in made your arrival easier after a long travel day. I always enjoy welcoming guests and sharing a few details about the home and the open-air living style here.
I’m also happy you found the nights cool and comfortable. Those big windows on three sides let the nature nights air in, and the jungle sounds that one can experience along with that is amazing. It’s one of the things we love most about being up here and I'm so glad you guys got to experience and enjoy it as well. It was a pleasure hosting you all.
Eerything was great. You are very much open air living in the jungle in the most beautiful house. Truly glamping at its best. Best to be aware that there are no walls except bedrooms and bathrooms, so wildlife is coming and going freely - so be careful at night for snakes which we did see each night close by. Magical and Wild in the best ways.
Great getaway house! Love the outdoor feel of the house. The view is stunning! Love everything about staying here!

We spent a little over a week here and loved every minute of it! Lori was absolutely incredible with everything, she helped us book some of our activities, gave us pointers on what to do in the area. The house was fantastic, the views spectacular and all of the animals that showed up to the house made it that much better! We were constantly entertained and will definitely be back!

Alex so nice to hear you two enjoyed the experience. This home is one of my favorites to experience nature in Costa Rica, but still with all the comforts of a home. You guys sure had a packed schedule and it was my pleasure to assist in helping making those memories. We would love to see your smiling faces again, Houston is only a 3 hour flight 😉.
The property was beautiful with so much wildlife to see. A little piece of paradise. The views were amazing. We really appreciate the help booking our excursions. I'd surely go back?

Cheryl I am so glad you both enjoyed. I too find it to be a magical place of nature with those comforts we desire. I hope to see your smiling faces again soon.
Very clean, very open house. No walls except for the bedrooms and bathrooms. A little hard to get to even with a 4x4 but once there it was very enjoyable.

I am thrilled you enjoyed your stay. It truly is a wonderful experience to be one with nature but with all the comforts of a home. It was a pleasure to host you guys.
Finka Khan was one of the most beautiful properties I have ever stayed at. The open air concept overlooking the ocean, in the middle of the rain forest…perfection. We saw so many beautiful birds. The hiking trails were well maintained. The location was close enough to town that you could drive to restaurants/markets. As noted by the host, you will need a 4x4.

Shasta, I am so glad you enjoyed your stay. It really is a magical setting being nestled in the jungle with beautiful mother nature and still be spoiled with amenities and local conveniences. We loved sharing the home with you and your family. Thank you for being such great guests.
We could not have been happier with our stay. The house is gorgeous with lots of wild life to watch. The views are great, and the location is far enough from town and close enough to get to. Communication was very easy, Lori made sure we had everything we needed to make our stay one to remember. We were fortunate enough to have Gabby come in and cook a couple meals for us, fabulous, highly recommended. She made fantastic meals, presented beautifully and cleaned up. It was truly a pleasure.

My fiancé and I had a wonderful 3 nights here. The property is gorgeous and so are the views. Lori is an amazing host and helped us with all of our needs. One of the many things that we loved, was the fact that the pool was cold. The weather was extremely hot while we were in Costa Rica and this was the ONLY place we stayed that had a cold pool.
I highly recommend ordering the in-house prepared meals. The food was absolutely delicious.
We love it so much there, that my now fiancé proposed to me during our stay.

We had an amazing time at this property. It was private and close to everything we needed. Groceries, restaurants and the beach are all about 5-10 minute drive down the mountain. We were surrounded by monkeys and toucans...it was really nice and the view was incredible. We also took a walk along the trails that lead us down to streams and a water pool, it was very cool to explore. Lori was super polite and available for any questions we had. Our family had a wonderful time and loved everything about the property. Thank you for the lovely stay.

Back to nature and an opportunity to let go and just”be still”. Comfortable bed and outdoor furniture to enjoy the beauty of the jungle. A small pool to relax in complete privacy. Kitchen could use some additional items. Great master bath and an adequate smaller bath. Outdoor stairs from bedroom to baths downstairs. The meal we requested was delicious and more than adequate. Yumm!
We had the most amazing stay at this jungle retreat. Everything was as depicted. It was peaceful, beautiful, comfortable and frankly a piece of heaven on earth. We enjoyed the open concept, wildlife sights and sounds. Toucans, monkeys, blue morpho butterflies and more. My husband, daughter and I did not want to leave. Beautiful views, private and safe setting. Lori was quick to respond to any questions or needs before and during our stay. She had excellent recommendations for things to do and places to eat. We were sad to leave but hope to return someday. Thanks for a great stay!

Amy you list all the things that make this place special - so happy you guys loved it. Thank you for the opportunity to share it with you. We hope to see you all again.
If you are seeking a stay away from reality and the opportunity to disconnect, look no further. We were awaken by monkeys nearly every morning. If you're a bird watcher, you don't have to go anywhere, simply sit in the open air living room and birds are 360 degrees around you. The nature trails on the property are secluded and dense.
Make sure you have 4 wheel drive, the property is pretty far up a steep gravel road.

Wow!...I can not say enough about this property, the owners and the experience we had. The owners are simply just beautiful people who are beyond helpful and go out of their way to make sure your stay is perfect. Any info you need or help with planning and they are on it making everything easy. The place itself and the location are simply magical. You are completely private nestled in the rainforest with incredible views of the coast and just as everyone says photos just don't compare to being there. Everyday the birds and wildlife were abundant. Howler monkeys and White Faced monkeys taking turns coming to visit right at your door. Various exotic birds, Toucans of different varieties, and animals such as the Coati and Agouti's passing by. There is also 2 private trails that go to pretty creeks and one even has a waterfall and you have this all to yourself. The area of Uvita is fun and the people are always friendly. You will not find a more pleasant and adventurous place to stay in Costa Rica. Thank You so much for this experience!

Wow—thank you for such an incredible review! We’re truly touched by your kind words and so happy to hear your experience was everything you hoped for and more. It means the world to us that you felt cared for and supported throughout your stay, we enjoyed the time together. The rainforest, the wildlife, the trails, and those magical coastal views are all special to us, and we’re thrilled they made your time here unforgettable. Meeting and hosting you both was an absolute pleasure, and we’d love (and can’t wait) to welcome you back anytime for another adventure in this paradise!
Elevated high above Uvita, the property extended views into both the Jungle and the Pacific Ocean below.
The facilities were good and it provided us an excellent platform to explore the surrounding area.
Lori was pleasant to deal with, provided good information to get there and the facilities in the local area.
Note - 4x4 is a must!
We hired a local guide in Uvita and were shown Sloths, Monkeys, Cayman, Macaws and a Tree Boa (Snake)!
Definitely recommend this and a Whale/ Dolphin Tour.
Local restaurants/ bars are good.
Particularly enjoyed the Craft pub 'Uvita Beer Garden' situated off the road on the way up to the house.
Also, recommend heading right out of the property, up the hill and take in sunset across the Ocean - Stunning!

We began our Costa Rican stay in Uvita. Could have easily been our only stay. Small town charm and lots to see. The ride up to the property is intimidating, but Lori met us at the bottom and guided us up. Shortly, I was a pro. Didn't even use 4wd the remainder of the trip! The home is amazing! Best way to connect with the rain forest. Everything you need is there. The pool was disappointing, more like a large bathtub. We never used it, but it was pretty with the lights on! Uvita is where I'll return when I revisit!

Snapper, thank you for staying with us. We agree, Uvita has the small town charm with just about everything one needs. And the home is a spectacular place to be among nature with the comforts of home. I am sorry you were disappointed by the pool. The land only allowed for so much space, but it still offered a place for one to capture some sun and to cool off with a sit on the pool stairs or relaxing soak while taking in the amazing nature all around. When you return you many want to consider another rental home on the property with a much larger pool and incredible views of the Pacific Ocean. Here is a link. https://www.vrbo.com/1234478
A beautiful open concept home. A little warm during the day but pleasant at night even without air conditioning. The howler monkeys are very loud although we never saw them. We did have a family of white face monkeys move thru the trees for about an hour. The lower hammock was the best place to watch them. Many toucans and other birds flew over all day. The house is very clean, stocked and well lit. Too far to walk to anything on such a steep and rocky road but it was never hard to get a driver. Spotty wifi but is what should be expected in the jungle. A wonderful nature house.

Amber, yes the howlers are good at making their presence known and also serve as a good alarm clock ;).
I'm glad you all enjoyed your stay and were able to see the charms of the Costa Rican jungle from the comforts of your home.
The road to the property is a couple of kilometers and while the walk down is only 1/2 an hour, the walk back is deserving of a driver and we are always happy to coordinate if needed. It was a pleasure to help you in this regard.
Thank you for staying with us on Finca Khan.
4 of us rented this home - it was very comfortable. The small pool at the home was very refreshing for when we needed to cool off. Lori (property manager) was VERY helpful through the entire process, from start to finish. She was very willing to book tours for us and suggest things to do in the area. There is a person on site to help with anything you may need.
If it's wildlife you are looking for, you should choose this home. Monkeys appear almost every morning and play in the trees, and even if you don't see them, you definitely hear them. We saw them and toucans almost daily, along with beautiful butterflies, frogs and other animals, as the jungle is steps from this home.
The home is equipped with a kitchen so you can cook your own meals, which we did do. It has two bedrooms and two baths - very nice home.
The home is just about 5 to 10 minutes outside of Uvita which is a very lovely little town. Uvita has plenty of restaurants to choose from and a nice size supermercado (BM Supermercado was the one we liked the best), but there is more than one there. If you stay there, be certain you have a 4 x 4 vehicle as the home is on a mountain road - it was a great experience overall for certain.

We arrived a Finca Khan and were greeted by Lori and Bobby, our hosts. Over the course of our one week stay, they were very helpful with any questions we had, whether it was about the home or with questions about the area. The view of the valley and ocean from the open air living/kitchen space is stunning, with varieties of tropical birds and butterflies everyday. We liked relaxing at the house much of the time, so having the dipping pool was nice for cooling off. The property was fun to explore, and there are even paths down to the forest floor river bed. The upstairs of the house is basically set in the canopy of primary forest jungle. The howler monkeys were heard each morning, but we didn't see them without binoculars. We saw the troop of capuchin monkeys once as they swung through trees behind the house. The upstairs bedrooms and the two downstairs bathrooms are all enclosed. We kept the windows open at night for nice air circulation. Since the property is gated, we felt quite safe. The bedroom doors can be locked, and even the refrigerators have locks in case hungry critters are looking for a snack. The kitchen has everything we needed for cooking. There was a pretty heavy rainstorm during our stay, and the electricity went out. We had brought our own flashlights, but there are also flashlights at the house and an umbrella to use. We would definitely recommend this house and would stay here again in a heartbeat! Thanks, Lori and Bobby!

Thank you so much for your thoughtful and detailed review! We're delighted you enjoyed the peaceful setting, the incredible wildlife, and the comforts of the home. It means a lot to hear that you felt safe and relaxed throughout your stay—that sense of security is something we truly value and strive to provide for every guest. Whether it’s exploring the trails, watching the monkeys swing by, or simply unwinding in the dipping pool, we’re so glad Finca Khan offered you a memorable and restorative experience. We'd love to welcome you back anytime!
My family, my wife and 12-year-old daughter and her friend, enjoyed this unique house. If you are looking for a unique experience, this house will not disappoint. Lori and Bobby are great hosts and freely provide a myriad of suggested activities in and around the property and area. The open kitchen on the ground floor is spectacular, allowing for meals to be prepared and consumed while enjoying the sights and sounds of the rainforest. Yes, an occasional insect will fly into this open air space but that too is the beauty of the experience. Being situated some 1000 feet above sea level, the air remained rather cool but damp. The two fully enclosed bedrooms "upstairs" allowed for a comfortable night's sleep with only the ceiling fan on. Air conditioning at this altitude was not a necessity and coolness provided our family with a brief respite from the heat of the coast. The small dipping pool was fun for the girls and provided hours of entertainment for us all, particularly in the evening with the pool lights on. The wifi was spotty at best and although all of our devices had a high signal strength from the local access point, we could not obtain a consistent connection in any of our four devices. This was only important insofar as we were unable to complete COVID documentations and scheduling requirements in preparation for our departure. Overall, a wonderful place!! Highly recommended for those looking for a unique accommodation situated in a rainforest. NOTE: As others have stated, a 4WD vehicle is a must to get this property.
