More about our home:
The Yay-Frame is a true A-frame home, filled with natural light that floods the cabin. No matter the season, you’ll have an idyllic view of the forest: sunlight beaming through towering pine trees, or the wintry scene of snow-covered woodlands.
A favorite feature of the home is the pellet stove, which is the main source of heat when things get really chilly—and temperatures can quickly fluctuate here in the mountains! There are lots of cozy blankets and comfy seating, perfect for warm conversation or listening to the small collection of vinyl records, perhaps with a cup of espresso or hot cocoa from the well-stocked coffee corner. Keep yourselves busy with a wide selection of board games and Nintendo video game system. The plush sofa contains a memory-foam queen pullout bed to accommodate your entire crew comfortably.
Slow mornings are key to cabin living, and we take our morning sips seriously! Coffee (and tea) enthusiasts will happily find a drip coffee maker, Smeg espresso machine, Chemex, french press, Fellow gooseneck kettle, and coffee grinder. Whole beans, regular- and espresso-ground coffees, and a variety of teas are on hand, along with all the essential accoutrements. Pour yourself your morning bevvy and take it out to the spacious deck to greet the day and do some bird watching.
The rest of the kitchen is well-equipped with cooking and baking tools, made easy for you to whip up dinner and dessert. An amply sized Smeg fridge holds the goodies you picked up from the Pine Mountain General Store, along with a PÜR water pitcher and lots of space for anything else. The kitchen doesn’t have a microwave, but there is a Breville toaster oven. You’ll also find a blender for frosty margs, waffle iron for those easy mornings, and a handful of charcuterie boards for serving bites with your wine—which can be found in the bar cabinet in the living room, along with other spirits and bartending tools.
Overlooking the living room is an upstairs loft bedroom, which is where you’ll find a work desk and a plush queen bed, positioned perfectly for waking up to the gorgeous view of the treetops through a large picture window. *A quick heads-up for families with little ones: the open loft design includes railing with wider spacing, so we recommend extra supervision when small children are upstairs.
The bedroom downstairs features a custom-made bunk bed with a twin mattress on top and full mattress below, and a wall heater to make sure you stay snug and warm. Just across the hall is a bathroom stocked with all the necessities: shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and other often-forgotten amenities. There’s also a wall heater to keep you toasty even after you step out of the shower.
The front deck is spacious enough to dine amongst the trees under the bistro string lights. Or grab a blanket and gaze at the stars, easily spotted since PMC is a dark-sky town.
