About this property
6 acre private nature retreat camping cabin.
6 private acres surrounded by Caroga Creek. Explore Nature, Wilderness, Wildlife, Forest, Flowers and tons of Plants, all to your self. We created a glamping haven to escape daily routines and reconnect with Nature. The river offers a nice little plunging bath as well as fishing and tubing. The Cabin is located right at the boarder of the Adirondacks National Park. There are tons of lakes to visit, as well as Waterfall hikes and plenty more. We also have an extra cabin available (sleeping only, no kitchen / bathroom) for 2 extra guests. ***there is a house on the property that needs full renovation next to the cabin, this summer we are only renting the cabins. while we have guests we will not be working on the main house. this is why offer the cabin at a discounted rate.

It was an amazing stay in the wilderness, so many little animals to watch, the river is surrounding the private property. Town is a short 5 min drive away. Bathroom has hot water, kitchen is functioning with a pretty large fridge. There is even a coffee machine. We went for a dip in the cold water of the creek. . Would love to stay again.

Disliked: Listing accuracy
"Glamping" is a very subjective term. In my mind, it's supposed to be a step up from camping. While this listing seemed like that, as soon as we booked it - and it was a no refund/no cancellation reservation - we were told that there is no drinkable water on the property so we'd have to bring all the water for the weekend and that the area was prone to tick exposure. I do realize that being in North East wooded areas brings a certain risk but being warned of a high chance of exposure was unsettling. We arrived during the intense heatwave of the 4th of July weekend. I had asked if it possible to get a fan but was told no - though I could bring one.....The biggest surprise was that the 2 "cabins" (which are small repurposed shipping containers) are right next to a creepy abandoned building with broken windows. When I went back to review the listing, it mentioned a building on the property but I never expected it right next to the glamping area. When we opened the main sleeping cabin,it was like opening an oven on a hot summer day. The small screened windows inside hadn't been opened so the cabin was unbearably hot. The pots, pans and dishes were in big plastic containers and looked like they needed to be washed and most disappointing was that the access to the river was not weedwacked - the grass was tall! Unacceptable given the tick situation. We left immediately and the owner wouldn't consider even a small refund. So, good luck if you book this - I don't recommend it at all!
