This is a strict NO-SMOKING (of any kind), NO-ANIMALS home; due to a medical exemption, no animals of any kind—including service animals—are permitted under any circumstances.
Cedar Lodge is a private family home in a quiet neighborhood. We appreciate your partnership in helping us preserve its peaceful character.
Occupancy:
Maximum occupancy is 6 guests — no exceptions.
The 4th & 5th guests (including children over 1 year old) incur a $35 per person, per night fee.
Please ensure your reservation reflects the accurate guest count so we can prepare appropriate linens and towels.
Only registered guests are permitted on the property. Visitors require prior written approval.
Maximum of 2 Cars Allowed.

Quiet Hours:
Strictly observed from 10:00pm–8:00am.
After 10:00pm:
• No audible music outdoors
• No yelling or raised voices
• No outdoor gatherings
Quiet stargazing is always welcome — audible noise is not.
The home is equipped with a decibel monitor that measures sound levels only (no audio recording).

Events, parties, or large gatherings are not permitted under any circumstances.

No Smoking Policy:
No smoking indoors or anywhere on property of any kind. This is a very serious rule - anyone seen to be breaking this house rule will be asked to leave in accordance with AirBnB policy.
Indoor or Outdoor smoking of any kind will result in an additional deep-cleaning fee due to the extensive remediation required. Any evidence of indoor/outdoor smoking on property will result in strict fines and clean up fees in accordance with the following fee schedule:
Deep clean labor, including interior + outdoor fire safety check: $400–$700
Ozone / deodorization: $150–$400
Laundry / textiles reset: $100–$300
Both Tobacco & Cannabis must be smoked OFF PROPERTY and never near doors or windows. Please dispose of all smoking materials responsibly — fire risk in the mountains is real and serious.

No Animals Policy: (PLEASE NOTE: all other Wildland Cabins properties are Pet Friendly. Please book any other property in our portfolio if you would like to bring your furry friends).
At Cedar Lodge, No Animals (even service animals) are allowed indoors or outdoors anywhere on property. This is a very serious rule due to the owner's severe allergy medical exemption. Anyone seen to be breaking this house rule will be asked to leave in accordance with AirBnB policy.
Any evidence of animals visiting the property either indoor or outdoor will result in strict fines and clean up fees in accordance with the following fee schedule:
• Indoor air & surface treatment: $250–$500
• Outdoor cleaning (deck, entry, grounds): $100–$300
• Linens & upholstery remediation: $150–$400
Additional costs may apply depending on severity to restore the home to an allergen-safe condition.

Check-Out:
Check-out is firmly at 11:00am.
Our cleaning team is scheduled in advance and late departures cannot be accommodated without prior approval.
Unauthorized late check-outs will incur a $50 per hour fee, deducted from the security deposit.

Care of the Home:
Accidents happen — we simply ask for prompt communication.
If something is stained or broken, please notify us immediately. When issues are reported right away and handled thoughtfully, minor incidents are often resolved without charge.
Unreported damage or excessive cleaning needs may result in additional fees.
Biohazard-related cleaning (including unreported bodily fluids) will incur professional remediation charges.
Please wash all dishes before departure to prevent pests and wildlife intrusion.
Excessive trash or unusually heavy cleaning requirements will result in additional fees.

Weather Policy:
Mountain weather, including snow and storms, is part of the experience.
Refunds are not issued due to forecasts unless roads are officially closed and the mountain is deemed impassable.
Power shutoffs due to high winds or maintenance may occur without notice. Emergency lighting and alternative heat sources are provided. Refunds are not issued for power interruptions.
All cancellations are subject to the stated cancellation policy and applicable processing fees.

Guest Access:
Guests have full access to the home and property during their stay.
The Neighborhood:
Cedar Lodge is located in Fern Valley, the "Beverly Hills" of Idyllwild. A short 5 minute drive to the center of town allows you to enjoy the best of both worlds.
Getting Around:
A personal vehicle is required when visiting Idyllwild, as rideshare services such as Uber and Lyft are not available in town. Cedar Lodge is approximately 1.5 hours from Palm Springs International Airport.
Parking:
Up to 2 vehicles may be parked in the driveway. Street parking is not permitted and may result in ticketing or towing.
Winter Travel:
All-wheel drive (AWD) or four-wheel drive (4WD) is strongly recommended during winter months. In snowy conditions, chains may be required for all vehicles — including 4WD — particularly at mountain checkpoints. We recommend carrying chains whenever snow is in the forecast.
