Clean and comfortable in a new building

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This unit is in a new building, only a few months old. The unit itself has an upscale hotel feel to it versus a woodsy ski lodge, which isn’t a bad thing. It’s well stocked for settling in and has a comfortable bed and furniture. The electric fireplace is easy to use and safer than wood or gas. The full size washer and dryer are nice to have too. The only thing really lacking is hooks in the entrance to hang up ski clothes, a boot tray to keep the slop off the floor and most importantly some outside chairs to enjoy the big balcony area and the view from it. You get a peak of the Peru lift at Keystone and even the Beavers lift at A-Basin out in the distance along with a great sunrise over the mountains. I was here during the off season and there usually was only a few other people in the building, so it was extra quiet because of that. There’s a shared pool, hot tub area and fitness center in the Keystone Spa building. I didn’t check it out, but its right next door. It’s also a short walk to Keystone Lake and the Lakeside area with the walking path right next to the place. Check in instructions give you a code for the parking garage. It’s really for the normal door to the left of the garage door. Use it to open that door and press the button inside to open the garage door. Overall, it was an enjoyable stay here. I’d stay here again if it’s available on my next visit to Colorado.

Thank you for the thoughtful and detailed review. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the unit’s modern feel, comfort, and amenities, as well as the quiet atmosphere during your stay. It’s great that you were able to take in the mountain views and nearby highlights like Keystone Lake—those sunrises really are something special. We also appreciate the constructive suggestions. Adding entryway hooks, a boot tray, and outdoor seating are all excellent ideas, especially for guests visiting during ski season or wanting to better enjoy the balcony space. We’ll be reviewing these items with our team as we continue to improve the guest experience. Thank you as well for sharing the helpful tip about accessing the parking garage—we know future guests will appreciate that insight. We’d love to host you again on your next trip to Colorado!

About the host

Hosted by Summit County Mountain Retreats

Host profile image
This property is professionally managed for the owner by Summit County Mountain Retreats. We are guest oriented, and we offer the following when you rent with us: hassle-free check-in and keycard pick-up, a generous supply of towels and an initial supply of consumables for your stay. We are also in the resort and have the longest business hours of any management company.

VACATION RENTALS VS. HOTELS
Booking a vacation rental is like staying at the house of a friend. In this vacation rental you will experience significantly more space, privacy, or comforts that feel like home, including a kitchen and a location that is beyond what most hotels can offer. All this at a significantly lower cost than a hotel with comparable features. These benefits bring different considerations than a hotel. More privacy means that most guests do not want daily housekeeping. We offer a check-out clean and, for an added fee, mid-stay cleans. We also offer a starter supply of some consumables, including coffee, paper towels, toilet paper and more, but these items are not restocked during a stay. A kitchen allows you to make home-cooked meals. Guests will likely visit the store to purchase groceries. Self-sufficiency is key to a happy stay in a vacation rental. We do provide housekeeping and 24/7 maintenance, but this is primarily for properties in between stays. Our staff services vacation rentals across several square miles, unlike a hotel that manages a single building. We have to strike a balance between cost and service, and have found that our current system has struck this balance. Our hope is that our guests understand the difference between booking a hotel and a vacation rental. Together we can provide affordable vacation rentals and happy stays for everyone!
