We loved the layout of the house and with golf carts, travel to the beach was easy. The house was spacious and we loved the porches on both front and back. Kitchen was well-stocked, which is always a plus because we eat at home lots while on vacation. Definitely enjoyed seeing deer and watching golfers from the porch.

Perfect Sea Shell of a Home

Our family has been staying at Cat's Cottage in Edisto, SC for the past five years, and it truly feels like our home away from home. The home is always clean, comfortable, and filled with charm—perfect for a relaxing beach getaway. We’ve created so many special memories here, from morning coffee on the porch to evening walks to the beach just a short distance away. Every year, we look forward to returning, and we’re so grateful for the peace and joy this place brings to our family. We sincerely hope that rising prices won’t one day make it impossible for us to continue this cherished tradition. Cat's Cottage is a treasure, and we hope to keep coming back for many years to come.

Cat’s Cottage

Location and view were wonderful! The fishing and watching golf off the back porch, was an added bonus! The home was clean, although there were areas that needed more attention I.e shutters, and kitchen chairs. The shutters had food on them, and the kitchen chairs had crumbs. The stoppers in both downstairs bathrooms do not work - you can only shower. Other than this, we had a great stay!

That said, even w 10 staying there we found enough room for all we needed. Liked Cat's Cottage so much we booked for next year on the way home.

Perfect Easter Weekend!

We had an amazing Easter weekend! The location to the beach was wonderful, I was wondering if we would need/want a golf cart, but it really is a short walk to the beach access point. You do cross a street, but it isn't a big deal. The area is beautiful, with walking paths close by for my children who like to explore. The house itself was comfortable and a happy place to be. There is one TV, but we went there to spend time together so it didn't bother us or our 7 children. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you!

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The home was beautiful and spacious just not cleaned very well. My family and I bought cleaning products and cleaned Home and then we were able to enjoy the rest of our stay. Home had wonderful view of lake and golf course. Big kitchen to cook in and plenty of roo for entire family to hang out.

Everything was great

My college roommates and I, along with our spouses/partners, spent a week at Cat’s Cottage to celebrate our 40th reunion year. So that’s four couples, all in our early 60s, and Cat’s Cottage had everything we needed. Most importantly: 4 bedrooms with queen beds and all with in-suite bathroom (there are actually 5 bedrooms). Beds were comfortable and bathrooms had good supply of towels and soaps. The home was in excellent shape, clean, a wonderful screened-in deck for staying up late and chatting, and a kitchen that was extremely well stocked with dishes, silverware, cooking supplies, etc - unlike other rentals, the kitchen at Cat’s Cottage has everything and more. I can’t stress enough how wonderful the kitchen was compared to rentals we’ve had all over the country. Location was great, a block from the beach, perfect for strolling and reminiscing about the old days on campus. An excellent home!

Great house for vacation; location one block from beach, easy walking distance, quiet area, pond off the par 3 on golf course was great watching. Rooms were spacious, A/C worked perfectly and the place was absolutely clean on check in. While this might seem a given; we have rented beach homes for about 40 years and it is rare that all the things I stated above are true for any homes. Will stay there again.

Home at Edisto

Great home for a family of 8. Spacious and clean. Good walk to public access 37. The kitchen is very well stocked. Nice to have an ice-maker on site. If the ice maker is finicky - turn it off for about 6 hours and then back in - make sure the knob is in the middle pointing down. The back porch is very serine - all of your before Edisto time stress will melt away. Cats Cottage is the purrfect home to escape to on Edisto - I can't wait to return next year.

Overall A Wonderful Stay

The Attwood Rentals was hospitable and helpful. They provided a great vacation rental starter kit with water, dish soap and a sponge, laundry detergent, and a bag for taking items to the beach. The Attwood team was also very responsive and quickly resolved the issues we brought to their attention during our stay. The home was well kept and spacious. There was more than enough space for our 9-person family (7 adults, 2 small children). Some of the decorations glorified plantation days/history and slavery...that was disturbing, but unfortunately not surprising. Thankfully, we didn't let any of that detract from our time together. The beach is a short walk from the home, and there's a bike trail across the street. We walked it one evening and had a great time. The neighbors were friendly. We bought food and supplies in Charleston and brought them with us to the house, but it's nice that there was a Food Lion nearby in case we needed anything else.

The only issue I had was this was a house with four bathrooms and none of bathrooms had toilet tissue in them upon arrival and was provided only two rolls. The two rolls were gone the first night of stay.

Excellent rental for large family

Two families live in Myrtle Beach and the other is a military family stationed in Savannah. The military family had to stay within 2 hours of the base. Cat's Cottage was perfect. Six adults and seven children fit perfectly. The pond was an extra bonus for the boys who love to fish. Can't wait to stay again when it is a little warmer.

The kitchen was great, the amount of space in the home is great, and the location on the island was fantastic. The beach nearby had smaller waves which was perfect for our toddlers. The home was clean, but not well maintained. The rental company was reponsive and easy to work with. I recommend this property completely! We rented a golf cart which was fun to drive around the island and to the beach and back. We went crabbing across the street from the bait shop. We biked all over the island and ate at Whaleys, had food from Kings' Market, and enjoyed beach walks. The butterflies were in season and were everywhere.Edisto is a special place!

Linens provided is a big plus. Many of the kitchen cabinets are locked so food storage space is minimal. We ended up storing food on the countertops and top of the island. Mattresses need upgrade--extremely firm.

Fun for the Family at Cat’s Cottage

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: What a beautiful place to gather with the family! My husband I enjoyed quality time with our two daughters, two son-in-laws and four grandchildren ages three to eight. The layout was perfect for our group with two bedrooms upstairs, two bedrooms on one side of the main floor and one bedroom on the other side of the great room for us. Each family had their own bathroom with most being in suite. The long table was perfect for family dinners. We all enjoyed the deck that looks over a small pond to the golf course, the comfortable screened porch decorated with wicker furniture and the huge front porch that reached the length of the cottage and contained large porch swings at either end and an abundance of Charleston rocking chairs. The yard was shaded and only two-three blocks from the beach. Under the house were two parking spaces that we used as children’s play areas. Also, there is an outdoor shower and charcoal grill. Fun was had by all.
