Beautiful home!
Our family stayed here for three nights for a coastal get-away. The Barn was spacious, beautiful, relaxing and had everything we needed for our stay with two children and 4 adults. Could see the ocean from the house. We loved exploring the beaches and the area around Sea Ranch as well as just hanging out at the house. Thanks for sharing your home with us. Looking forward to staying again!

kid friendly home
The house was a good option for a group with small children. We had hoped for a hot tub but the outdoor tub was ahave been an interesting substitution. Although the house is near the ocean it is a bit of a trek to get to th e beach but the tennis courts and pool are very close.

Birthday week with friends.
Lovely coastline .
Quiet and relaxing.
The barn needs some general maintenance but has basics,
And lots of games, bikes, and fun stuff in the garage.
Great for a family.
Major problem… many
Windows don’t open…
Such a shame in the beautiful ocean environment.
They should be repaired.
Toilets keep running and kitchen faucet is like a shower.
Needs a bit of tlc .

Pack a sleep mask if you want to sleep in
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at The Barn. The house has a well stocked kitchen, washer/dryer, ping pong table, and lots of books, games, DVDs, and toys for kids and adults alike. The house is located a very short walk to the community pool, which was a plus for our kids. The one thing I wish I had been warned about was the brightness of the upstairs bedrooms. They have large windows with no covering of any type, which means the rooms light up very early. I had hoped to sleep in during my vacation but could not sleep past 6:00 am due to the bright light. We would consider staying here again.

A week in The Barn
We spent a week in The Barn.
First the positive things: proximity to the recreation center (if you use that); plenty of kids toys and games, so if you come with a bunch of kids, this place is accommodating; the soaking tub is nice; dog friendly aspect is appreciated; architecture is interesting; both decks are sunny and the deck furniture is comfortable; the living room wood stove is nice and there's plenty of firewood.
Now the negative aspects: housekeeping could have done a much better job--there were dirty bowls in the drawers, refrigerator handles were sticky with residue, balls of pet hair behind the living room couch; master bedroom windows toward the ocean do not open--only the side window opens and it lets in highway noise; master bedroom gas fireplace does not operate; the adult bikes are not maintained and are dangerous to ride; the house location is line of sight to the highway and traffic noise is constant (this is clearly shown on the map so it's not an unknown negative aspect, only a heads up); DVD player was broken and Vacasa advised us to operate it with a butter knife; thermostat operation is frustrating and weird; there was no place at all to store food, so we had to store food on the counter and during the night the mice ate holes in our food containers so we had to throw it away--Vacasa advised us to store food in cupboards as a solution; mattress in second bedroom slopes steeply into the center of the bed. For these reasons, we will not be returning to The Barn.

Thank you, Art, for taking the time to leave such a detailed review of your stay. We're pleased to hear you enjoyed the proximity to the recreation center, the kid-friendly amenities, the soaking tub, and the dog-friendly aspect. We're also glad you appreciated the architecture, sunny decks, and the living room wood stove with plenty of firewood.
However, we deeply regret the inconveniences you encountered. We have brought these concerns to the attention of the property owner, who is making the necessary arrangements to address the issues. A new DVD player has been ordered, and we are working on improving the cleanliness and maintenance of the property.
We hope you will consider staying with us again in the future, as we are committed to providing a better experience.

Overall good but needs blinds
This house has a good location and layout. The decks are great and there are lots of things for kids to do. There are several bikes in the garage for use too. The kitchen has all the items you will need. Our biggest complaint was that the bedrooms did not have blinds on the windows, so it's an early morning wake-up.

Well equipped, spacious home. A few teeny tiny tweaks advised
The house is lovely and spacious. It was very clean upon our arrival (no sign of any ants, as mentioned in other reviews). Very peaceful decks on two sides of the house, to enjoy the morning and afternoon sun. The garage is very well equipped with lots of activities for kids (full size table tennis, various balls and bikes etc). Some of the bedrooms windows were missing blinds, so we tried to fix an old blind we found in a cupboard and tried hanging sheets over the windows, with varying success. Fixing little things like this are quick and easy and would make a difference to the stay. Overall, it's a lovely property and we recommend it.

We appreciate you choosing to stay with us, Lisa. The homeowners will be taking care of the blinds during their next visit. Hopefully you'll return someday and enjoy the improvement. Thank you!
The Barn was everything I’d hoped for, and more. The house is amazing exposed beam architecture, and extremely tastefully designed and decorated. The wood stove worked wonderfully and was very cozy for a rainy day. The kitchen was well equipped and it has a great dining table. The jacuzzi is a great perk. The kids loved the kid toys and ping-pong, and that we were very close to the pool and could also easily walk to the Bluff trail. We saw wild hares and deer and foxes and quail. Highly recommend.
Enjoyed our stay. Everything clean, comfortable and in working order. Lovely home

Perfect for a family getaway
We’ve stayed at The Barn two years in a row now and have just booked again for 2022. As previous TSR homeowners, we know what we want as far as location and amenities and The Barn delivers nicely. Close to Gualala, across the street from the Del Mar Center, a quick stroll to the coast, a well-equipped kitchen, lots of toys, beach gear, bikes and a ping pong table, and room to spread out for our family of 5. We had a few minor issues this year Will cleanliness and slow drainage in the bathrooms but overall, this is one of our favorite places to stay in TSR.

Liked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities, communication
This home was large, light-filled, and pet and family friendly. The kids movie/games/reading room was a big hit. Right across the street from the Del Mar pool, tennis courts, and community center amenities. Parking/access pass must be picked up in Gualala. There is a pest issue in the kitchen, which is posted and at least partially being addressed. Some more traps are needed and small repairs to kitchen and primary bath sinks. Otherwise a lovely home in the unique Sea Ranch area.
We loved the house but were unhappy when my son was awakened by many mice in the children’s room(game/toy closet). He saw several running around and they kept making noises in the closet while he slept. And unfortunately there is a bad ant problem as well. It was a little like camping in a beautiful home with a large price tag($$$$) The property manager called promptly when I notified the office, but it would be too disruptive to have them come in while we were there. Hopefully, it will be addressed now.

Hi, Jessica! Thank you for staying with us, and for sharing your experience. We sincerely apologize for the disturbance and upset caused by the unwanted pests in the home. Per your direction, we did wait until after your departure to execute maintenance on the home. Our local property caretaker confirmed that any open spacers have been filled with steel wool, and traps have been set. We do regularly treat our home for pests, as well. We hope to have the chance in the future to host you!
We loved the outdoor sitting area and the kitchen was very usable. There was an ant infestation that you might want to address.

Hi, Pat! It was our pleasure hosting you and we are glad you enjoyed your visit. We are sorry that you had problems with ants on the property. We always set ant bait stations throughout the house and we encourage guests not to leave any kind of food or drinks on the counters as it draws in the ants. Although ants are very common this time of the year, we have noticed this year it has been more than usual. We look forward to hosting you again!
