Coastal house near trails, beaches, & dining with firepit - dog-friendly
Summary:
Ocean, and redwoods converge in Gualala. Bring your pup along -- numerous trails and beaches are a short drive away. Room for 4 in this 2-bedroom home. Restaurants, river access, and Gualala Point Regional Park are all a short drive away. The Mendonoma Coast's best dining, art, and beaches are minutes away. Nature does the decorating here -- redwoods, ferns, and the occasional curious fox. Autumn is the North Coast's secret season -- warm days, smaller crowds, and spectacular sunsets.
The Space:
Surrounded by redwoods and in a quiet neighborhood, the Coastal Cabin offers a pleasant space to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. Don't forget to bring your hiking shoes, as numerous trailheads are a short drive away, including the Gualala Bluff Trail, Gualala River Redwood Park, and Bower Park.
Sun-soaked and happy, head back inside the open interior of your stay. Whip up something delicious in the well-equipped kitchen amongst the vintage fridge and ample meal prep space. (This home is not equipped with a garbage disposal.) Later, gather on the comfortable seating in the living room for a movie night. Eclectic and fun, the bedrooms offer inviting areas to rest your head each evening. A mini-split unit provides heat and air-conditioning.
As the stars begin to fill the night sky, head outside and indulge in a gooey s'more prepared over the warmth of the firepit.

Getting Around:
From San Francisco, the drive is about 2.5 hours via Highway 101 to Highway 1. Fly into Santa Rosa's Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport (STS), about 90 minutes east, and drive the coast from there. Having a car opens up the entire Mendonoma Coast.

Wonderful stay
We loved our stay at this property. The location is perfect for a hike or a beach day, or a quick trip to the store. Several restaurants nearby. The home itself was clean, comfortable, and the kitchen and laundry room were both well-stocked. Everything was perfect!

This place is great!
This is an extremely comfortable place to stay with lots of privacy. The town is a very short drive with plenty to do. The owners were accessible and questions were answered immediately. Highly recommend for up to 4 or possibly five people.
A nice, well-equipped place for a family vacation. Be sure to obtain some fire logs and a fire starter for the fire pit. Would recommend.

Great Coast Cabin
if you’re looking for a quiet, lovely sun speckled getaway this cabin might be just the thing.
It’s clean, spacious, beautiful, lots of nautical and ocean accents everywhere, the bed is super comfy, fluffy blankets, and great heaters. We absolutely loved it and will definitely come back.
Liked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities, communication
It was clear the owners of this property thought through every single detail. EVERY thing fit perfect and was quaint. The only suggestion I would make is to bring games as there were few there. We all loved the place.

Great place near the ocean
This property is tucked in the woods just barely off the main road and near the beach. Perfect for family or a couple and short or extended stays. The bed and living room furniture were very comfortable. Also they have a nice area to sit outside to BBQ, have a fire, or simply enjoy the surrounding nature. If we return to the area we will definitely stay again.

Awesome treat!
Spacious, clean, love the decor and unique quirks of the designer. Well stocked kitchen and bathroom. Perfect for pups, too. We’ll be back!!
This may be the most comfortable house we’ve stayed if. The couch, rocking chairs and beds were just right. The shower was hot and had great water flow.
The redwood trees are so lovely and the outside lighting added to the enjoyment after dark.
Little charming, thoughtful details were an added bonus, especially the live plants.
We plan to come back.

Coastal Cabin Comfort
This house was perfect for us, my husband and I and our 9 yr old grandson. Big kitchen, open floor plan, and good sized bedrooms with comfortable beds. Good central location between Point Arena and Salt Point State Park. Our only suggestion for improvement would be to upgrade the tv to cable or satellite. Although Vacasa was very responsive in showing us how the streaming format worked, we still weren’t able to find programs we liked. Also as a note to future renters, the tile floors are lovely, but very cold so be sure to bring warm socks or slippers.

Cozy stay
As others have mentioned, this is a cozy little place to stay but does not feel too small. Nicely decorated and very comfortable. They do not have a coffee maker but have a Keurig machine so you need to bring pods if you want coffee. We didn't have a chance to sit around the outdoor fire but it would have been nice if it hadn't been raining. One thing to mention is that the house is located on a fairly busy road. It's quiet at night but you do hear the traffic during the day and early evening. It can also be a bit tricky leaving the property due to fast drivers coming down the hill. This should not deter you, just something to be aware of. Overall great stay!
There was no heater in the house and as note in my questionnaire we were all 3 in our 80 and 70
No heat was mentioned
This person that kept checking on us Vancasa knew nothing about the house. We did not have TV because there were no instructions. No information sheets about what to do upon checking out . This has never happened to me with a VRBO normally everything is typed out and very easy for our stay. Excellent clean kitchen, with everything you might need to cook with.
