The Space:
A walkable, in-town location meets a tranquil country setting at this inviting home in Gualala, a escape with blue-water views of the Pacific Ocean. In this secluded coastal town on the rugged Northern California Coast, you'll enjoy a quiet piece of property that's surrounded by wind-blown cypress and lush vegetation, backing up to a seasonal creek.
The interior makes use of natural wood, including beamed ceilings, richly hued walls, and a staircase that was hand-crafted in the Craftsman style.
When the sun is shining on the coast, you can walk to the bluff at Robinson Gulch, light the gas grill for an afternoon barbecue, or simply relax in the fresh air in the yard or on one of the two decks with seasonal views of the creek. And when the fog rolls in, you can retreat indoors to toss the provided beach towels in the washer/dryer, warm up by the gas fireplace, and watch a DVD or stream a favorite on the Smart TV.
When it's time to turn in, you'll find one bedroom with a queen-size bed on the main level and another, loft-style room with a queen-size bed upstairs; both bedrooms have access to an outdoor deck. Glennen Beach and Cooks Beach are both less than two miles north.

Visit in spring for wildflower season -- the hills above Gualala and the river trails burst with lupine and California poppies. June through September brings the warmest weather. Morning fog is part of the charm -- it usually clears to reveal blue skies.

Great place
Especially loved the multi level decks.
Clean and well stocked.
I loved my stay here! Place was as pictured, instructions for stay were clear and place was super clean! It was so nice to just reach in the evening after beach combing all day. I’ve already recommended this place to my friends!
The home was equipped with everything needed for our stay. The ocean views were just beautiful! We visited area beaches and walked many trails. Gualala is a very relaxing place to stay and unwind. We hung out a lot at the property as well, reading, cooking, and watching sunsets. A perfect place for our 35th anniversary trip! Everything was just seamless with the host, access, etc. Thank you for a great home.

Not just a pretty place
Loved the frog sculptures, birdwatching on the deck, and having enough pots and pans to be able to cook properly.

Gualala-hidden gem of the NorCal coast
Home was stylish, clean, and easy to find, very close to town. It provided a great base for our Mendocino County adventures-a welcome and inviting space after a long day exploring, hiking and kayaking.

Voila! It’s Gualala… and it’s fabulous
Easily one of the most comfortable, cozy yet rustic properties I could have rented. The house was clean, well-appointed and simply perfect for a mid-week romantic getaway.

A true delight!
We thoroughly enjoyed this home -- beautiful touches (especially the art!!!), super clean, and the most stocked kitchen shelves we've ever seen in a rental unit, in terms of spices, teas, sugar...
everything was perfect, the location the clean likeness…it was all amazing. We will be back again soon

Liked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities, communication
This property appeared rustic in the listing but once we got there, it was clean, well-maintained, modern and well-appointed. We used every deck and started a fire both nights. Did lots of cooking, drank lots of wine! The BEST. I'd love to go back.
Very clean and comfortable, but no coffee. TV remote was a mystery to us, but we finally figured it out. Lovely house with sculptures and other art throughout. Of immense help were the automatic outside lights that came on to guide us up the stairs after dark.
We had a great time here and made great use of the well-equipped kitchen (lots of dishware and glassware, pots, pans, etc. as well as a coffee cone, aeropress, coffee machine, even a hand grinder). The outdoor space and neighborhood were lovely, as were the town and surrounding areas. Would definitely recommend and stay again.Only issues were that Vacasa (the property manager) were not always responsive/helpful… for example, we requested a late checkout several days in advance, and all we received was an automated response. We didn’t hear from a human until days after we’d checked out. Also, the Vacasa-supplied miniature soaps (for dishes and the dishwasher) were quite ineffective.

Feel fresh and relaxed
The place is in a very nice location, close to many beautiful beaches like Fish rock and Shell Beach. The small town Gualala supermarket and restaurants are nearby. The house has a very nice multi deck to get the partial ocean view. The garden is very inviting, with many birds visiting for food. We also saw deer and skunk family in the garden. The house kitchen was very well stocked with all kind of cutlery, glasses, appliances. The bathroom were well stocked and beds were very comfortable. The one thing we did not like was the dryer. It made too much noise and we ended up air drying our beach clothes at the last day of our stay. That made our stay uncomfortable. If the dryer is fixed, we would highly recommend this place.

We hope to host you again soon!
We had a lovely stay! We’re usually skeptical of Vacasa listings, but this one was worth it. The home is a beautiful classic California coastal with wood interior, lovely deck, and large picture windows with views of the ocean. The kitchen is big and surprisingly well-stocked. The neighborhood seemed quite friendly, and we enjoyed taking short walks down the road to get even better views of the ocean at sunset. One small suggestion for the hosts: replace the “cool white” lightbulbs (which feel fluorescent) with “warm white” LEDs instead. It will make a world of difference.
It was just as pictured. The wildlife was constant in the backyard woods and to hear the ocean is so peaceful. The area is quiet and clean. The house is lovely and the decor is all so unique. I loved every part of my stay.
Very clean place and well supplied. The deck was a beautiful place to eat at the table and the kitchen had everything we needed. Interesting art by the owners surrounds the place. The lighting in the living room and bedrooms was fair to poor, but the ambience was great. I would stay again.
beautiful home, limited views, nearby construction
Cozy home decorated fabulously, lotta love and great energy put into it, excellent art and wood tones. Well-stocked kitchen. Ocean views are limited, only viewable from certain areas and balconies and then at a distance (you're not seeing waves crash on the shore). You can walk to some good views in the local neighborhood but there is no nearby beach/coastal access. It is possible to walk into town but it's a dangerous feeling road you have to walk down with a slightly intimidating hill on your way back, so really best used as a home base to drive around the area.
There was construction on a few nearby homes, particularly they were replacing windows on the immediate neighbors home, so it was noisy during the daytime. I suggest confirming with owners/vacasa if construction is occurring next door before booking, if you're looking for daytime quiet. But if you'll be out most of the day, this is really a great place.

Beautiful home!
The home, decks, and yard were wonderful. Great location for a neighborhood walk or walk into town.
We very much enjoyed staying at this nice house, it is comfortable for up to 4 people and the kitchen was well stocked for cooking. The views from the house were nice, but the good ocean view was from the kitchen (at the sink) or out on most of the several decks, so if it is windy and you want to enjoy the view from inside, the house does not have the superb views of many houses in the area. There is a good view of the river and nice birds flying by the bird feeder in the yard. Other minor suggestions: it would be good to make a set of wine glasses available in the kitchen cabinets, and living room seating is not ideal for watching TV at night.
