The property is in a rustic location, which is fun. But the property lacks privacy and the view isn’t great.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed the rustic setting. Our listing notes that this is a private guest house on a shared property, and we aim to be very transparent about that so guests know what to expect. Many guests appreciate the peaceful setting and proximity to town, but we understand preferences can vary.

About the host

Hosted by Leslie Duvernay

Host profile image

We are a California-based family who has lived in both Northern and Southern California our whole lives. We love getting outside, exploring new places, and making the most of everything this area has to offer. Most of our time is spent with our boys, whether that is hiking, spending time near the river, or checking out local food spots.

We enjoy hosting because we know how important it is to have a clean, comfortable place to land after a long day of traveling or exploring. Our goal is to provide a simple, well-equipped, and welcoming space that feels easy and relaxing from the moment you arrive.

Why they chose this property

We chose this location because it offers a rare combination of peaceful, rural surroundings while still being just minutes from everything Auburn has to offer.

You get the quiet of a semi-rural setting, with wildlife, open space, and a slower pace, but you are only about 2 minutes from Downtown and Old Town Auburn. That means you can easily go out for dinner, attend local events, or explore shops, then come back to a quiet and relaxing space.

It is also a great base for outdoor activities, with easy access to the American River, hiking trails, and the Auburn State Recreation Area.

What makes this property unique

The biggest advantage of our property is the location. It is hard to find a place that feels this peaceful and tucked away, while still being so close to town.

The guest house offers a private, detached space with its own entrance, giving guests separation and comfort while still being on a shared property. It is a great fit for guests who want a clean, comfortable place to stay that is not cramped, with enough space to sleep up to 4.

You also get a unique setting with natural surroundings, wildlife, and a more relaxed environment, without sacrificing convenience. Most guests appreciate being able to go from a quiet morning with coffee outside to dinner in Downtown Auburn within just a few minutes.
