I checked into this property on one of the hottest days of the year and found the AC not working. The host was of little help claiming to be at the mercy of the apartment complex maintenance team who didn’t respond until early afternoon the following day. Once that issue was resolved and I could actually inhabit the unit, I found it marginally clean with dead bugs on the floor, on the bed, pretty much everywhere as if the unit had been left unoccupied and untouched for weeks. One of three ceiling fans worked but randomly changed speeds or turned on/off as if the remote was shared with every unit in the building. It was quite startling to have the overhead light come on above my bed in the middle of the night. The location of the complex was convenient but the unit overlooked the trash dumpster which made the patio area less than ideal. The complex itself was poorly maintained with trash cans always full and litter common in the parking lots and in the passageways. With neighbors above and below, there was a lot of ambient noise well into the evening. Long-term rentals in Charlottesville are few and far between, so with that in mind, this property met my basic needs. That said, it was also the most disappointing VRBO experience I have ever had. I was thrilled to check out and move on.
