About this property

Beach Front. The Plum Pad. Sunset, Surf & 70s Soul

The Plum Pad – A Groovy Beachfront Getaway

Welcome to The Plum Pad, where the vibes are vintage, the beach is your backyard, and life moves at the speed of a beach cruiser.

This colorful 3-bedroom, 1-bath beachfront cottage is a throwback to the carefree beach vacations of the 1970s—when days were spent collecting shells, riding waves, and staying outside until the stars came out. We've sprinkled in retro charm, sunny colors, and plenty of nostalgia while keeping all the comforts you need for a relaxing stay.

Wake up to the sound of the waves, pour yourself a cup of coffee, and watch the sun rise over the Delaware Bay. Spend your days with sandy toes, salty hair, and nowhere important to be.

Sleep Easy

Whether you're traveling with family, friends, or your favorite beach buddies, The Plum Pad has room for everyone.

Primary Bedroom – King Bed

Bedroom Two – Bunk Beds

Bedroom Three – Two Twin Beds

One full bathroom serves the home.

What's Groovy About The Plum Pad?
Beachfront location with direct access to the sand
Front-row seats to spectacular Delaware Bay sunrises
Authentic retro 70s beach-house charm
Relaxed, uncrowded beach perfect for families
Nature preserve nearby for birdwatching and exploring
Fully equipped kitchen for family meals and beach snacks
Outdoor spaces perfect for morning coffee and evening cocktails
A laid-back atmosphere designed for making memories, not schedules
Broadkill Beach: Delaware's Best-Kept Secret

If you're looking for boardwalk crowds and amusement rides, keep cruising.

Broadkill Beach is all about quiet mornings, long walks on the sand, dolphin sightings, fishing, kayaking, sea glass hunting, and breathtaking sunsets. It's the kind of place where neighbors wave, kids chase crabs along the shoreline, and time seems to slow down.

Linens, Towels & Good Vibes

Linens and towels can be rented on your behalf and delivered prior to your arrival. To keep everything fresh and groovy for every guest, The Plum Pad does not stock or provide its own linens or towels.

Far Out! Wildlife Ahead

Welcome to nature's neighborhood.
Being located right on the beach and next to a nature preserve means you'll be sharing your vacation with some local characters. Expect sea breezes, singing birds, wandering butterflies, busy bees, curious lizards, and the occasional bug who forgot they weren't invited inside.

We regularly maintain the property, but Mother Nature has her own management company, and she doesn't always return our calls.

Please help us keep our outdoor friends outdoors by keeping doors and windows closed when possible.

The Bottom Line
The Plum Pad isn't fancy.
It's better than that.

It's a place to watch sunrises from the beach, play cards around the table after dinner, laugh with family on the porch, hunt for shells, chase fireflies, and remember what vacations felt like before life got so busy.

So grab your flip-flops, pack your favorite records (or playlist), and come experience a little peace, love, and beach life.

Stay groovy. Stay salty. Stay at The Plum Pad.

ITEMS TO BRING: Bath & beach towels, soaps, toiletries, and paper products (TP, paper towels garbage bags). Linens if you did not make arrangements to rent.

Beach chairs and umbrellas are also recommended. You may find other items left behind from past guests, and you are free to use them.

LINEN RENTALS: Bed & Bath Linen rentals are available.

Charcoal Grill

A charcoal grill is available for your enjoyment during your stay.

If you plan on grilling, we recommend checking the grill shortly after you arrive and before purchasing food for the grill. Charcoal is **not** provided, so please plan to bring or purchase your preferred charcoal and fire starter if needed.

The grill is maintained on the honor system. We kindly ask each guest to clean the grill after use and dispose of cooled ashes properly so it is ready for the next family to enjoy.
While we encourage every guest to leave the grill clean, we cannot guarantee it was cleaned by the previous guest. Thank you for helping us keep this amenity available for everyone.

The Plum Pad was awesome! We loved the screened in porch. We had coffee out there every morning and could watch the sunrise over the bay. Communication with the host was easy and got replies back quickly. Everything from the Plum Pad is just a short drive away, except for the beach which is right down the back path. We couldn't recommend a more relaxing and groovy place to stay!
